I'm not insensitive to the UK need for oil, (I know there is genuine concern North Sea is starting to wind down) but I reject the notion that we need to continue to prop up the family Saud.  They are barely allies, they do finance terror, they do instigate sectarian violence and they do propagate an extremist interpretation (Wahabbi) of Islam.

Frankly, I wish you guys ran the place.

I think it's rank hypocrisy that the UK (of all political colours) bangs on about 'uman rights' but climbs up the arse of SA. BEA systems bribed a prince so it could export to SA, Tony Bliar made sure the case never got to past being 'looked at' by the serious fraud office. We've become somewhat Dorian Gray.

Well, again, it's about what would come next there if that government were to fall

I just think it is time for the USA to stop getting involved in everyone else BS. Maybe if they plunge into all out War the will realise the true cost of their actions!!1

On the positive side the new King has just celebrated by having the first beheading on his watch! Sure the guy, at least as charged and convicted, a child rapist but still. The beheaded claims it was all a set-up also but I would guess most child rapists say that- especially if facing beheading.

Take away: beheading good if Saudis do it, beheading bad when rebels do it.

You equate child rapists in Saudi Arabia with innocent men and boys unfortunate enough to cross paths with ISIS?
