The Conservatives were out of power from 1989 to the present, other than Gingrich running the House as Speaker for a few years during the Clinton Administration.
No matter how you try, you can't distance yourself from ideology that inflicted Bush on the world.

Bush Jr ran as a 'compassionate' Conservative - note the clarifier.

If someone ran as an 'intelligent' Liberal, or a 'responsible' Liberal, then proceeded to govern in a way that had little in common with Liberalism, would you be insisting they were Liberal?  Answer:  no, you wouldn't.

By the way, just so you know - Andrew Cuomo was probably as responsible as anyone for the 2008 meltdown.  There would not have been all those sub-prime loans if he hadn't insisted that poor people be able to get mortgages too while he was Secretary at HUD.

He wasn't alone in this, he had Lib accomplices in Congress, at Fannie Mae, and NGO's like Acorn out suing, demonstrating, crying 'racism', etc.   With Big Media providing the usual cover.

Well, there was Gandhi.  And Martin Luther King, Jr.  And Nelson Mandela in the latter years of the Apartheid regime to a certain extent.  Jesus Christ seems to have been influential over the years..  People's Power at the end of the Marcos regime

There are always scuffles, but from independence for East Timor, to the breakup of the Soviet Union, to the end of the communist governments in the Warsaw Pact nations, governments have been known to change without all out war.  Plenty of colonies were handed back without violence, as recently as Hong Kong and Macau.  I could go on...

Please go on... Jesus Christ(you got documentation on this besides the bible)? Gandhi did get rid of Great Britain thats 1, Martin Luther King Jr did help stop some rasim (but still going on today remember Fergusson and all that other shit still going on) but I will still give that to you. You think the USSR fell without violence (your fucking with me right). But please go on you will need more than that. Just think American history itself has fought in over 80 wars/conflicts which has changed this country/land. So please keep going!!1

Well, it wasn't all out war, or anything close.  There were skirmishes and proxy wars during the cold war, but I'm talking about the period of Lech Walesa, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of the Warsaw Pact governments, and the non-Russian republics leaving the Soviet Union.  And Boris Yeltsin standing up on that tank.

Aw Zoo, did I spoil your narrative?

I did provide other examples - including the end of European colonialism* which affected most of Africa and many parts of Asia and Latin America, but you ignored them in your post.  Doesn't seem worth my while to provide more

*Granted there was plenty of bloodshed during the process that ended Colonialism after WWII, but not everywhere, or even most places

Have you been in a coma? Do remember the state of the USA is Jan 2009 after eight years of conservatism? Drop the "all the same" sophistry.  There is a difference. A huge one.  Wanna see what this country will look like after another 20 years of Republican laissez faire?  Visit Chihuahua.

Have you seen a "free speech zone"? NSA storing all information and listening and read all information on its own people does not bother you? Homeless People being arrested for being homeless. Afro-Americans being shot and killed for being large and black in public by Police.  On video and nothing happens to the police. The income gap is so far apart it is not even funny. So ya things are awesome and only getting better 8) !!1

This, or similar nonsense ignoring seven long years between Clinton and the Bush Collapse, is an oft-repeated lie by conservatives. Even under Clinton, HUD didn't make fiscal policy or regulate banks. Sorry, pal, your people were running the store and had a loooong time to correct the perceived mistakes of Clinton.  So what did your neocon pals do?  They made the problem magnitudes worse and colluded in fraud (eg...CEO of Goldman made SecTreas) that damn near pushed the economy into an abyss.  And they killed a few hundred thousand Muslims as a diversion, creating a nightmare that will be with us for generations. But that's a different conservative-driven catastrophe.

I didn't make any claims about those things.  The militarization of police and the growth of the police state is a mostly conservative product. The hysteria of 9/11 was the excuse the career law & order types in govt wanted for generations.  But economics are a different issue...when Obama took office a quarter million were losing jobs each month, millions had lost their retirement funds, millions more lost the homes, and the bankers had made an immunity deal with the outgoing Bush neocons to take the TARP money needed to prevent the entire economy from crashing harder than the public ever realized was coming.  Things are A LOT better.

No, HUD didn't sit down, write policy, and implement it.  They did it the old fashioned way - agitate, sue, cry 'racism' and 'red-lining', play the class warfare card, threaten boycotts of banks, join with like minded people in Congress and the various affected Federal and State agencies, read in Big Media so they would keep the drumbeats going, 'demonstrate' by looting and burning our downtowns.  Specifically isolating and threatening banks with lawsuits, boycotts, and accusations of 'racism' unless they buckled under.

You know, the same thing the Left always does.  The same way they are cramming 'gay marriage' down our throats now.  All right out of the Alinsky handbook.

And the fact that the next Administration didn't wade in to fight that, knowing they would be attacked and smeared by the same people who pushed it thru in the first place - and their accomplices in the Media - and being busy fighting terrorism and stuff, doesn't make those who did implement the policy less culpable.

How dare you bring facts into the argument. Everyone knows that Bush was responsible for everything from 911, to Katrina, to the mortgage bubble, to the mythological banking crisis. And worst of all, Bush's disastrous 5.3% unemployment rate.

Thankfully we've enjoyed 6 years strong of 20 million less jobs, millions more who've lost heath insurance, health insurance costs up 400%, 5 trillion dollars added to the national debt and annual budget deficits over a trillion. And to think, all this after Clinton projected a 3 trillion, then a 4 trillion, then a 5 trillion dollar budget surplus in the matter of 3 months time in 2000. Adding our national debt would be gone by 2010. All wiped away from Bush's 100 billion dollar tax cuts. Those dam Bush neocons ruin everything.

Sept 2008-Jan 2001: Almost eight years with the Bush WH banking and market analysts studying every twitch of the financial markets.  Yet they did NOTHING except deregulate even MORE to increase the scope of their patrons' looting orgy. Hell, they made the guy who created much of the scam their SecTreas.  They started a phony war, snapped the flag, and the gullible right was easily rolled. They're still laughing at you from the decks of their yachts on the Med, and getting ready for a second bite of your apple.

BTW, who WAS the President who ignored warnings for 9 months before 3000 were killed on 9/11?  Who WAS delivering a birthday cake to McCain while 1200 Americans died miserably in New Orleans?  Who DID order the invasion of Iraq, killing 5000 Americans and over 100K Iraqis, and spending a trillion $$ for NOTHING?  No, wait; not nothing; the ME is far worse and Islamists are far stronger now.

I pretty sure all that happened in Obama's office too. The whole homes being lost, jobs lost, people losing retirement funds, etc. but what do I know I am not MSNBC, CNN, or FOX. I mean they report nothing but the truth and facts so the people can make a informed decision ::) !!1

Truth, facts, and reality mean absolutely nothing to you.

I'm not sure if the Bush II administration was THAT incompetent or if they allowed the 9/11 attacks to occur. Not thinking they the Towers would come down since they didnt know the fire retardant coating on the steel support beams was removed. All they had to was nothing.

Bless her heart. I love random, funny court filings and especially ones that are hand-written and in cursive! The kids working at the clerks office won't even be able to read it since it is not taught anymore. Classic.

By the way, just so you know - you're still a liar.  The sub prime loans were created, in part, to help the poor become home owners but, like everything else with good intentions, were hijacked by the rich (and those desperate to get rich) to create mortgage bonds and default swaps.
The loan originators themselves bore no liability as they immediately sold these house flipper contracts to a broker who packaged them into mortgage bonds.  This is why foreclosures were halted on everyone, even the vast majority of properties owned by developers and flippers, because the mortgages had been repackaged so many times there was virtually no way to determine who owned title to the properties.

Yet you refuse to admit or acknowledge this massive supply side failure because it shatters your conservative mythology. Instead you trudge on with you schoolyard "blame the poor" bullying.
