Amazon's Mechanical Turk is a subsite where people pay something like 5 to 8 cents to have a person enter some kind of data found on an image. This data is very difficult for machines and computers to read.
However, many people are using it to game goolge-increasing their page rankings. They put a listing on the mechanical turk to go and find some web site (and then link it) and they pay 2 cents per link.

Most of my tricks wouldn't work anymore. Before the intertube, if you had a phone and letterhead, you were in. K-Mart and the Catholic church were always good for 50.00. Then there was radio-staion swag and whatever else you could dream up.
