How anyone can not be completely horrified by the event leading to the thread title, and turn the conversation into anything other than agreeing, as a society, to put and end to the bullshit that allows this Neanderthal shit to happen, is beyond my comprehension.

Precisely why I post most of the posts I do.

Probably because I am no more horrified by this event than I am all of the other violence that occurs daily.  Do I lack compassion and emotion?  Yes.

If we are going to go for the argument that we as a society must put a stop to everything that leads to horrid deaths I would have to support gun control (and I support the right to carry instead.)  I mention this only because your argument of putting a stop to "bullshit that allows the Neanderthal shit to happen" sounds like a recycled rhetoric from an anti-gun lobbyist.

I also do not quite know where we as a society suddenly get all up in arms over a beheading.  The west practiced state sponsored beheadings until 1977.  Yes, less than half a century back our civilized societies were lopping off the heads of those who they saw as criminals. Now, I am not suggesting that this excuses an idiot and a knife in Oklahoma- only that I cannot quite muster up the outrage at the act itself anymore than I can the other man mentioned in this thread who killed two co-workers at the UPS plant.  It is all rotten.

Murder rates will decrease if that happens. Anyone hear of a drive by decapitation? School massacres (that don't usually involve knives) will be fewer too! Sure you'll still have murders and still be able to blame 'the left' (even though Muslims are by and large right of centre), but on balance it's a winner.

You still haven't expressed any outrage about the Alabama shooting though. Why is that? Doesn't matter I guess, the victims perhaps lesser people.

Everyday occurrence? Not exactly a drive by in the true sense though. Shootings are. I knew of a bloke who cut his own head off with a metal guillotine. Damn clever way he rewired the safety trips, but he managed it. But again, not something that happens every day.
