Nah, GE pretty-much, cosy ups and funds, both mainstream parties, but Jeff Immelt is suspiciously close to Obama- which does makes one wonder why Mr.Change gives GE so many waivers, like on environmental regulations, and that they paid no taxes in 2010.

Most liberals will agree; Obama is no FDR.  But the conservatives always seem to forget the abysmal alternatives they nominate cycle after cycle.  McCain?  Romney? The Tea Party louts?  Really?  Considering the utter chaos Obama inherited, his performance has been disciplined and positive.  Disappointment is not the same as catastrophe.

Good to see the Fox clowns aren't too far behind some of their Arab brothers in misogyny.

If a liberal pundit had mocked and insulted an allied female soldier; let alone one who's a pioneering combat pilot; on national TV, our resident far-righters would be ranting and demanding blood.  Most liberals would condemn it too.  But if Ayles' misogynist bunch of troglodytes do it, it's "just a little fun" to conservatives.  The Fox bunch would soil themselves at the mere thought of flying into combat.  The only surprise in it is that Bolling didn't make a racist crack about her. Contrasted with their tantrum over an awkward (but given) salute, it's a beautifully clear example of their hypocrisy and boorishness.  It's also an example of the relentless stream of bile that is Fox News 24/7.
Exactly.  Because it isn't about "respect the troops" and it isn't about "respect women".  It's just partisan political bullshit wrapped up in an American flag.

The real damage is that the Fox News clip will be shown & viewed across the Arab world as representative of "true" American opinions toward women.

LOL! There was never chaos, only a political stunt used to alter an election. Emergency stimulus was not injected into the economy for over 6 months after the so-called banking collapse happened.

Considering things are as bad today as the day he took office it's kind of laughable what a worthless 6 years its been. A good president would have had things turned around in 2 years. Instead our economy is still on the same track going no where. And HE is directly responsible for it due to Obamacare which continues to keep a stranglehold on the economy and yet provide health care for no one. Yep, Obama has done a great job for a man who had less experience that any elected president in history.

Dead on.  I was going to write a long response- but you nailed it.  At some point we can stop picking at the smallest little things just because somebody on the "other" side said them.  Partisan politics has really spun completely out of control.

OK so who will be the first to stop doing it?

Yeah, respect the troops...

I guess it doesn't help when our commander-in-chief sings the praises of radical Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah --In front of the United Nations, no less.  You may remember him from the organization he represented, which, by the way, put a fatwa out to murder all American troops in Iraq.

Oh, I know; just nitpicking, partisan politics, right?

Whatever lol.

I suggest the people who started the lies and smears - the followers of Alinsky, whether they know it or not - go first.  Since their tactics seem to work, especially with Big Media and Academia at their backs and piling on, it doesn't make sense for the rest of us to go back to just quietly taking it.

The Republicans in DC just quietly take it, and look where it's getting them - they've surrendered using the power of the purse and the debt ceiling to counter ObamaCare and all this spending, they've surrendered on appointing special committees to look into the various scandals, they've surrendered on Impeachment, they don't articulate what they are for and fight for it.  Pathetic.

That is one of the things I despise about the Bush family.  The two that were President would just continue extending their hand across the aisle and not respond while the D's took all kinds of cheap shots.  After leaving office, they continued to decline to respond to various attacks.  As if their opponents would finally tire or decide to act in a civilized way.

Two examples come to mind, but there are many more:  the fuck up of Katrina was the result of the incompetence of the Governor of Louisiana and the Mayor of New Orleans.  FEMA is just there to provide whatever support is needed and requested - the state and local communities are the first responders and are supposed to take charge.  FEMA did what it was supposed to do, and George W Bush refused to respond to the lie that FEMA and his administration was responsible for the incompetent handling.

The other one is waterboarding.  That isn't 'torture'.  What bullshit.  And George W Bush refused to fight back and respond to those lies.

The difference is the troops - and the rest of the country - know who respects them and who despises them.

They know what the Clinton's thought of them, and what the Obama's think of them.  They also knew Bush respected them.  So when Obama does something like this, it reinforces what everyone already knows.  When Bush does something similar, they know he's just being goofy and playing around.

Unfair?  No.  Try respecting the troops and maybe there will be a different reaction.

FFS, during the various recounts of the Florida vote in 2000, Al Gore tried to get the absentee ballots of the overseas troops from Florida excluded when he was trying to steal the election.  The troops know which party supports them and which one doesn't.  And people like Obama know who they vote for.

Damn right its nitpicking partisan politics.  Helloo...Bayyah's one of the most influential Islamic scholars in the world and he's firmly on our side now.  And  it took some balls for him to publish a fatwah to Muslims condemning ISIL as ant-Islam.  Obama's mention of him was the right thing to do; just as it was for him to call out the Saudis and Gulf states for financing extremist madrassas and mosques in the same speech; something the right has been utterly silent about.

Yeah but mentioning all that undoes FtF's narrative which neglects things like facts that don't support his rant.

Naturally you can testify to that, being the US champ in being able to sustain it. If it isn't torture, then why the hell would the spooks use it to try and get information? You think it's just one big laugh for all concerned?

It's called enhanced interrogation.  Slapping people around and roughing them up a little to get some information is in the same category - and there is a difference between that and just pulverizing someone day after day.

Read about what the North Vietnamese were doing to POWs during that war for a better idea of what torture actually is.

Oh I didn't realise there was a competition to see how brutal humans could be to each other. 'Enhanced interrogation'? Is that in the same vein as 'collateral damage'?

I don't care what they do to those rats, I'm just saying water boarding doesn't reach the level of torture.  Sometimes it's best for the girls to leave the room and let the men do their jobs.

Seems to me that they are just practicing "enhanced justice."  Perhaps it would be best for the Westerners who are still wearing panties and limiting themselves to waterboarding to leave the room and just let the "real men" of ISIL handle justice for awhile...

That stone age barbarian has American and Jewish blood all over him. We don`t need his luke warm fatwa. It`s not worth the paper he wipes his ass on (wait, they use their hand, nm). Hell, we  have Iranians with American blood all over them begging to get involved, why not praise them, as well? We have clerics coming out of the woodwork to condemn ISIL. Who cares? It means NOTHING. Al Qaeda condemns ISIL!

Why do you think the State Dept. had to issue an apology, just a few months ago, for even mentioning that savage?! OBAMA`S state dept. I guess they`re partisan and nitpicking right-wingers, too, huh?

I`d just LOVE to see Obama explain his actions to the families of my friends who lost loved ones in Iraq. You know, Vitageez, those "phony warriors" -- isn`t that what you called them? That fact is, Obama has neither the testicular fortitude, or the mental capacity to try. All he does is try to read whatever they load on the teleprompter for him.

He should have listened to his generals LONG ago, but the arrogant prick has no respect for the military. If they dare disagree with Dear Leader, he just fires them and goes golfing. Meanwhile the whole world is on fire because of it -- TYVM, Mr. President. But ol` Barry the conquerer has the answer; win the "moderate" barbarians over to "our side" HA! What a joke!

Your "enemies are forever' attitude means we can forget peace.  What Obama is doing is similar what Truman did after WWII in embracing Germany and Japan as allies.  We need to enlist old enemies as allies against the perpetuation of extremist violence. I called no one a "phony warrior" (though Bush and Lindsay Graham come to mind).  My objection is to the phony use of the word "warrior", with all its connotations, in place of "soldier", and how the military now uses it to screw with the troops' minds.  Kids get all pumped up with phony warrior bullshit in training, then their heads get screwed up when they experience the real thing, and so many blow their brains out when they get home.

PEACE???  You really think Obama embracing murderous Islamic savages and their "religion of peace", and inviting those savages to the WH is going to bring PEACE?? If you believe that, You`re a fool! No,  actually worse; you`re a mindless apologetic sycophant. Far more dangerous.

There hasn`t been peace with these savages since they showed their faces over a thousand years ago! Yet, you actually believe that by compromising our principles, selling Israel down the river, betraying the trust of our WARRIORS, and bringing that f***** savage into MY WHITE HOUSE, we`re going to...what...somehow garner the love and respect of ISLAM? You`re nuts!

And how can you POSSIBLY compare post- WW2 Germany and Japan to the modern day civilized world`s conflict with a bunch of stone age terrorists? Germany and Japan were motivated by extreme nationalism, among other things, NOT a deeply ingrained, and warped sense of religious fervor. HUGE difference. One can be beaten down and broken, then rebuilt; the other must be annihilated  and cleansed from the planet.

The answer to ISIL is absolute uncompromising brute force, the likes of which has not been seen before. But your hero, Obama, is too weak and too motivated by politics to undergo anything as uncouth as that. No, he`d rather read flowery speeches from an idiot box and tell the world how undeserving we are to be THE world`s super power. You know, all that Ferguson stuff....we`re all just bunch of racist haters in this country. Meanwhile, Iran is laughing at our moronic president, as is Russia AND China! Only, the joke is on US.

Which bit of 'Most of the Islamic world has condemned the thugs calling themselves ISIS or whatever' don't you understand?

Oh, and Hitler believed God was on his side. And Japan treated their Emperor as a living god, so both had religion as their motivator. Do you have the deluded idea that POW's were treated kindly by the Japanese? Or they didn't have 'comfort women' for their troops? AKA women raped. Or that the Nazis exterminated not just Jews, but Gypsies, Communists, Blacks and anyone else they didn't fancy being in their Aryan utopia?

Yet, both countries are major players and every city in every country in the world has something either or both country made.
