At least he seemed to care about the country. Granted he had lots of policy problems and worst of all helped the deification of the President (which would crest with Obama being declared "The One".) But we are talking decades ago. We have a President now who clearly (even in his biographies) who has animosity towards much of the country, mainly white people, and Western Civilization, promotes an open-border and an amnesty policy even worse than Reagan's amnesty, has continued and expanded the unconstitutional policies of Patriot Act, NDAA, etc and continues to assert himself in non-issues simply for racial reasons because he enjoys fomenting racial and class tensions in his promise to "fundamentally transform" and "redistribute" the country. Here is a hint. You don't like, or have any allegiance to a place, if you want to "fundamentally transform" it. But this is expected from such a mysterious man with such a bizarre background (a mixed-race child raised by a cross-dressing nanny in the Islamic country of Indonesia by a step-father and a mother named Stanley whose sexual antics would make one seem she wanted to start a mini-UN by her conquests.)
