Dam it as Senda has said he has a income problem not a spending problem. Senda just doesn't have enough comming in to cover expenses. Hi.  I'm actor Troy McClure.  You may know me better as the character I play on BellGab, "Open Lines Gerry" - or "Ol' Gerry" as some have taken to calling him.  You may also know me for my role as "@openlinesgerry" on Twitter.  I was going to briefly post something here over the weekend to let you all know why I'll be away, but since I was directly asked, I'll go ahead and tell you now.

Yes - unfortunately it's true that I do have a brain tumor, which is called an acoustic neuroma and is fortunately non-cancerous.  I was diagnosed with it at this time a year ago, and have been on a surgery wait list since then.  My neurosurgeon called me late last week, and I'm scheduled to go in to have it removed early next week.  I'm not in any pain, but do have symptoms such as balance issues, fatigue, and numbness in half of my face.  I'm looking forward to having it taken out as I hope it will alleviate the issues I've had, and I have a good prognosis for recovery.

I don't know when I'll be back on BellGab - would imagine it would be at least 2 weeks - but am not really sure.  Everyone has a different result with the surgery, and recovers at a different rate.  You can find people who have a very good outcome, and are posting videos about it on YouTube a couple of weeks later, and then others who are struggling with their recoveries.

I wouldn't personally be offended if someone joked about my situation, but realize that any serious medical issues are not laughing matters for people who have them or their families, so I would not say any of this stuff as a joke or "trolling" behavior.  I've told Drone and George about my condition, but haven't posted it on here publicly until now because this thread (much like the "ruse, as you call it") was never about "Ol' Gerry" anyway.  I'm going to let MV know that they are allowed to talk about my surgery in the coming week if they choose to post anything about it so they won't be penalized for posting another member's personal information.

I appreciate your asking and concern, and am willing to answer most  questions that people might have.  Meatie Pie asked about it a couple of weeks ago too when Falkie first mentioned it in a video, but I was banned that same day I believe, so couldn't respond (I did PM him when I came back).  Thanks.
