Is Bellgab now doomed?

Isn't the expression actually "throw down"?  I am hopelessly out of the loop when it comes to this crazy hipster language all you young whippersnappers are speaking!

Hummmm.  I thought "throw down" was to accept a challenge, as in; "throw down the gauntlet."
And who y'all callin' whippersnapper ya old fart???

Uh oh . . . I'm an old fart too.  Never mind. ;D

Throw up the gauntlet?  That could hurt.

Doesn't piss me off, I'm happy to throw in when I can.
Wait.  Let me try it here:
"Doesn't piss me off, I'm happy to throw in up when I can."
Nope.  Just doesn't feel the same.

IF you would even step foot within a mile of me, good idea... I'm an obnoxious drunk.

Trailer Park Boys - Bubbles Drunk

I'd happily meet up for a drink, Area51...  We'll talk Bigfoot and shoot the shit.  You seem a decent guy.  I know I ragged on your pal Casio, but that's water under the bridge.

I'm guessing that HorrorRetro and ChewMouse are fun after they've enjoyed a glass or red (or whatever they'd drink).

Make mine Cabernet.  :)

Bellgab doomed? No, but mv changes the forum to noorygab then maybe. The reason is bellgab took down dark matter in less then 7 weeks. What will happen if this forum is called noorygab.com?

ItsOver

Coastgab.com still gets you hear.  Noorygab, coastgab, not much difference.  If Art's indeed of the air again, I suspect it'll just revert back to it's former self, where Noory's stellar nightly broadcasts become the focus.  :P

The majority of gabbers did as well.
Probably why he is gone.

As for the future of this site, the member traffic will probably slow if Art doesn't return to DM, but Coastgab was a very active fan forum after Art left C2C in 2010.
It might not get a huge number of new  members, like we have seen since the end of July, but that might help restore the sanity around here. That is, until the next big announcement from Art.

Most of the newbies are just fine by me, they get it, but some roll in with guns blazing looking for a fight. It can be entertaining, but when the wars last more than a day, or the combatants refuse to back down due to ego, it is frustrating and tiresome. When tempers flare and it gets serious, is the perfect time for me to visit a different thread, or skip out completely. People who can't poke fun at themselves, or flat out refuse to acknowledge a flawed argument, are taking this site WAY too seriously. IMHO & for what it is worth.

Might fool Tommy into making an account, and get time to bash him before he realizes what's up.

Luckily, I am a bellgab prepper so while all of you are fighting it out to survive, I will be on 160+ posts of the Mike Siegel thread being self-sufficient and safe.

When is Mike Siegal going to take over at dark matter??

I think that he is not a fan of bellgab, but I could be wrong.

Closing in on two years here, and I fly pretty much under the radar. I get a few quotes but am boring enough that most of the time no one probably reads my posts, and that's Ok with me. Bellgab isn't going anywhere. It may revert back to what it was before Art's announcement and the on-air shout outs. Maybe a few people will drop out, maybe a few will stay, but the nightly suckage that is C2C, save one Sunday a month, plus the really funny, witty conversations and comments by the talents here are enough to keep Bellgab going as one of vicious critics and vaguely loveable people, minus the inanity of the past few days on t he Quit thread.

You deserve a complementary quote, on the house! ;)
If I had more time, I would've baked you a cake.
You aren't boring,  I enjoy your contributions here.

To be honest, he annoyed the fuck out of me the day he showed up. When he posted his "first" comment in the beginning of a live show thread, that was when I knew. I don't ever talk bad about anyone here but when I saw that, errrr....Like nails on a chalk board for me.As far as bellgab being doomed? I'm pretty quiet compared to other members and I only joined in October 2012 after lurking for about a year, but I come here for the entertainment. I like reading others opinions on things. I like going through the old archives, I've been amused by members posts, I've been pissed off by members posts. I still find it entertaining. That's why I have no one blocked, I don't want to miss out on any of the fun. Art not coming back will not effect my use of the site.

Can't wait until it returns to it's pre-September form. Ya know, before the likes of you got here.

Eternal September reference there.

Bellgab will continue having an identity crisis, especially now that we're cozying up to Noory  :-\

I can't believe he didn't mention me in addition to Falkie.  I was/am one of his few outspoken supporters.  Maybe not anymore.   Casio!!!! CAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I would have drinks with most of you, but I am not a beer person.  Hard liquor or wine for me.

I'm not a qualified toxicologist, but I'd say he's not entirely stone cold sober. On several levels.

Bellgab is not doomed. It has morphed into a lifestyle.. into a daily purpose to exist. At least for me.
Now when Art rides his seesaw into the night again and goes off to wherever during his non compete phase, it may tone down here and there.
But in this case, this time, I think Art is going to stick around.. And his involvement with this page has forever placed it high in the food chain of fan sites. We have Art.
And George, by God.
MV created a monster. A multi-headed monster.
And we are all suckling from the teet of it.

Yes, I've been here since June 21, 2009!  (Time flies when you're happily bashing Noory)  I agree that "The Gab" has been through many incarnations, from the more acerbic georgenoorysucks.com to the broader and inclusionary CoastGab.com, and now to the celebratory BellGab.com.  The name of the forum is not as important as the mission, and the active members have continually defined and redefined the direction of topics and relevancy.  The future of Art's show and George's impossible learning curve are more uncertain than ever, so I believe that "The Gab" will live on as long as we provide a reason for others to find interest and some honest levity amongst the threads and posts.

Wow, FoodLion, that video is... strange, sad, disturbing...  I don't think we're talking performance art here.  I think this is a troubled young man who'd benefit from compassionate professional counseling.  I hope he lands on his feet and finds some new forum to join and run roughshod over.
