Art, I said you don't deserve the insults here and that you shouldn't have to come here, and yet I'm very thankful to hear from you.  Please don't let a minority of bully types ruin it for the rest of us.

This.  Bullies, trolls and people still very deeply in the anger cycle.

Didn't Phil Collins do a solo song named Effluvia? His career really jumped the shark after that one.

Phil Collins rap -- billy -- funny

This reminds me of how I dressed in high school.  :-\

Snowdoggie

Yeah. Art needs to be severely punished for this.

With a whip.

Maybe we can get Effluvia from Sheri's Ranch to do the honors.  ;D

What really grosses me out is the avatar of Noory in a P90X t-shirt showing off his girly arms.

George is a pretty sexy guy, actually. Ran into him the other night...

Art,
Please keep posting here! We do appreciate any updates you can share with us. Ive only been here since August, but I can tell yah, these are good vaugely loveable people. A rabid fanbase whose thirst for the weird and unknown runs deep and can only be quenched at the "Bell Well".

I guess it's a good thing Noory doesn't post here.

If people here do not wish me to post at all I can do that, I only continued here because I kind of embraced this
forum when I started the show and so I was trying to keep you all up to date, it seemed natural.

                                                                                                                                 Art

Dont listen to the assholes

Please keep posting updates.

I hope you continue to post even after a decision has been made.

I think Art vastly overestimates his importance and he seems bound and determined to prove it.  How many bridges must you burn before you understand?

Or you, and all the others who talk like they know it all and judge Art to standards they probably don't live by themselves, over estimate YOUR importance.  People, quit this hatefulness.  You're all bloviating and being obnoxious.  Grow up and leave it be.

How did you come to the conclusion that a forum devoted to you would not like you to post here?

It's all fine and dandy when it's nutgargling, though.  No complaints there.

tertiaryimam what is the significance of the pug?

Fake ass answer:
The pugs were worshiped in ancient China and were bred specifically as a means of combining the best qualities of heaven (tian) and earth (di) into a compact, suit-case-carry-on-sized-form. The creases in their forehead supposedly make the Chinese character for "Prince". The dogs were often used to guard Buddhist temples from crickets and the occasional potatoe bug which might wander in and disturb their pilates session.

Serious answer:
I wanted art bell to see a pug when he was posting here. The image of pugs have been found to be very therapeutic.

Art,

I think I speak for many on this forum when I say that your show from back in the day was an important touchstone to a certain time in our lives. The world was a different place back then and you had your finger on the pulse of something much larger, and mysterious. You were able to bring things to our attention that we would not find anywhere else, cosmic questions and profound mysteries. As these things were largely unknown to many of us you were able to connect us to previously isolated pockets of esoterica that we would not otherwise have stumbled onto. Just the sound of your voice is enough to bring many of us back to that place and time.

This is why so many on this forum are expressing bitter frustration and concern with the latest events. It's discouraging to have something that was so anticipated yanked away from us with no warning. So many of us are surprised and upset (myself included) and that often translates poorly especially when it's a message that's transmitted over this medium.

Art laid out the business side of this. It's air tight and makes sense. Give it a chance to develop this week and let's see what happens instead of throwing rotten tomatoes.

SaucyRossy

The site is bellgab.com THE Art Bell fan forum.

I know many of us have been emotional and upset the past week, but as another user pointed out to me, we should show respect to Art.

Everyone should be respectful of the man, doesn't mean you can't ask hard questions or state how you feel, just remember he is a person not a brand or corporate entity.

Hey' I'm one of those Johny come lately's.. don't bunch us all in the same group.
Some of us joined explicitly for the purpose of counteracting the 'freakin' negativity:>)
(Long time silent fans of Art's & Lurkers on Gab - we were forced to come out of our closets and stand up for fair treatment)

What is happening in the Phillipines is terrible/ and I'm sure must be beyond worrisome for Art and his family. Taking time to update us on the sirius situation is appreciated.

Just to encapsulate- Art has kept us up to date. He told us what he was trying to do.
Just cause it is a wait game doesn't mean-  passing the time here - really has to go back to the 'Freaking out / does it?
God isn't that like the last 100's of pages - could we miss a repeat of it?
Wading thru it all the first time round was hard enough.

So Art, Appreciate the updates. From the responses it appears that is the majority here.

Thanks for asking, I am fine. Nothing much to say that I have not already said but good evening!

However I will repeat, people here have no idea the intense talks that were going on from about 3 days
after the show started about the stream drops, I do understand however how it seemed abrupt to the listener.

Also, the deal we tried to make on Wed, two days after the show stopped was a very good one and after saying
they took it very seriously they stopped communicating. I will say again, I think something else is going on.

For those above who listened and did not like the show anyway, it should not even be a issue worth talking about
unless you just like seeing a message from yourself.

                                                                                                                     Art
we like the updates Art.  Just might look like a lot of negative people are posting but there is a silent majority as well lurking here and checking back just to read your messages.

He does. And if John B. Wells were literate, he would, too.

I remember when a pug got in one of my huskies' face at the dog park one night. He thought my dog was out of line. My big ol' dog actually backed away from this 12 pounds of fury. Those guys are fearless.  :o

Apologies, there are some constructive people showing up lately. It's just time the constructive people got really vocal to drown out the trolls.

This whole non compete thing makes me sick. If anything Sirius should have to refrain from paranormal radio and thus be subject to a non compete from Art Bell since his "brand" is at least as enduring as that of Sirius.  One could even argue that since Art isn't doing this for the money (he no doubt already has more than enough money to live comfortably for his remaining years), that any non compete agreement abrogates his rights to free speech under the First Amendment.  Sirius needs to be made to pay not only legally, but in the court of public opinion. I'm no Howard Stern fan, but one can imagine that if they tried this sort of stunt against him (enforcing a non compete) that the political/rhetorical pressure to knock it off would be immense.  I still say that someone like Robert Bigelow could be instrumental in arbitrating this disagreement. Obviously, he has an interest in the subject matter (and I believe at one time sponsored an endeavor which originally brought Art into the realm of paranormal talk radio). Heck, he has the money and resources to actually set up a competing perhaps world wide, satellite, radio endeavor.
