NATIONAL MALL

The WWII Memorial is closed to WWII vets, and The National Mall is closed - but tomorrow, our esteemed President will OPEN the National Mall so that Illegal Aliens can PROTEST to DEMAND Amnesty...

Now, I don't care how you feel about The Constitution, or Obamacare, but if you sit back and say nothing over this, and do not express outrage to your Representatives, or you celebrate it, you are dirt.

I am grateful for our Constitution, and am hopeful about Obamacare, but I really am pissed the government is shut down.  Memorials should be open and cared for, and the National Mall should be open, too.
Do I agree with amnesty?  Not so much.  Nor do I agree with the idea that we need to "close the borders".  If people want to be citizens of our great nation, then we need to offer more than 250,000 some odd spots a year.  Talk about bureaucracy - becoming a citizen takes a long time, requires a lot of money, and yet many thousands a year queue up for the honor.
What does that tell you?

Quick Karl

With respect - way to miss the point!

When vindictiveness is a political strategy used by a President and Senate Majority Leader, directed at Vets and 80-yr old people, and illegals are used as tools to recoup the votes they will lose because they are spitting in the faces of REAL Americans, they're pieces of festering shit that make corrupt turncoat money-grabbing Republicans look like angels.

Go be an illegal in Mexico and see how understanding they are.

Obviously you post these things just to disagree with my sentiments, and that is fine, but when vindictiveness is a political strategy used my a President and Senate majority Leader, directed at Vets and 80-yr old people, and illegals are used as tools to recoup the votes you will lose because you are spitting in the faces of REAL Americans, you're a piece of festering shit.

If you are going to call people that disagree with you a piece of shit... well then.

Honestly, going to a Veterans Memorial when it is closed is just a publicity stunt and it was closed due to the tea party zealots that are almost as fanatical as you. I served in the military. I still volunteer with the red cross for emergency situations.   But by your standards... shit. So tell me lard ass, other than voice your pathetic rhetoric on a forum what the fuck good are you?

I kinda thought we could mend a fence here... but you are worse than those you curse.

Quick Karl

I revised my post to clarify my thoughts and avoid any misinterpretation that my disgust was directed at NWIT; obviously not before you were able to capture it. My intention was and is clearly that Obama and Reid et al, are festering pieces of shit, though I do not expect you to acknowledge that or comprehend it.

It seems that Susan Collins (R-Maine) has offered a compromise, but that Harry Reid refuses to even take it up.  Susan Collins is about as far from a tea party person as one can be.  It really annoys me that neither side is negotiating seriously.   All of this would go away if Congress would fulfill it's number one duty - pass a budget.

If you're speaking about negotiating a budget, I agree.
If you are indicating that Obama needs to reopen Obamacare to the loving, caring hands of conservatives, no dice.  Again, passed both houses, signed into law, upheld by SCOTUS.  Done.
Even so, discussions can re-open after you guys give it a chance to breathe in order to make it more efficient but this delay and defund nonsense isn't negotiation. Nor is it the appropriate time.
Pass a clean Continuing Resolution, pick your conferrees, and go build a budget!

Really? Because this 11th hour attempt to end Obamacare isn't going your way?  I think your disdain should be aimed at the people who keep changing the rules to suit their fantasies.  Even they aren't going to stay together much longer.

Quick Karl

You are posting lies - SCOTUS did NOT "uphold Obamacare". In fact, SCOTUS redefined it as a TAX, in complete contradiction to the arguments FOR Obamacare before the SCOTUS. Furthermore, Obamacare as a bill to raise TAX, did NOT originate in The House, as is required by law; it was RE-WRITTEN into a completely unrelated bill, by Senate Democrats, and then passed in the middle of the night by a 100% Partisan vote of Democrats (not one single Republican in either house), that did not even know what the bill actually said. So, the issue is not etched in concrete as you continuously try to imply that it is. There are and will be legal challenges to the edict based on the TAX issue, but you would have to READ, and comprehend the ruling, to know that.

I wonder why you are so single-mindedly opposed to addressing the real facts of this matter?

Secondly, whether or not you like it, The House got elected too, by the vote of The People. We do NOT live in a Peter-Pan totalitarian dream word wherein a 53% majority gets to dictate what the 47% has to do, or where 2-branches of government get to dictate what the third branch does. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Try arguing on the merits of Obamacare, if you can find any. Nevertheless, you are welcome to continue accepting responsibility for the shortcomings of Obamacare.

Lastly, I wonder how loudly you would be defending the SCOTUS if/when they rule against Obamacare? Will it be 'etched in concrete' then, or will those Justices be tools of the Evil Rich?

Please send me directions to conservative Fantasy Island.  I want to live there, too!

I love how you sanctimoniously parse the language the court used to, in fact, uphold Obamacare.  Using the tax argument was the best way the court could see to uphold something that was legal and popular.  But you know that. Whether language was restructured by the Senate or not I do not care.  Whether one Republican had the decency to vote for what was, essentially, a Republican (back when they were still decent) plan., I do not care.

I am opposed to addressing what conservatives define as "facts", on this and many other matters because all too often they are parsed, as you did with the ObamaCare/tax red herring or outright lies (like swiftboating).
And I do not like the fact that the tea party "House" got elected; if you were honest (which your post brings into question) you would admit that over 3 million more people voted for Democrats to go to Congress in 2012 than Republicans and that by virtue of gerrymandering do conservatives have even this opportunity to oppose Black President. (Note how conservatives guaranteed Senate conversion failed because a LOT of people voted either for Obama or against conservatism.)
I defend the SCOTUS even when they really fuck up like Citizens United.  I don't like the arch conservative tilt but respect John Roberts as a Chief.
As to Obamacare, really I've posted about the merits so many times even I am getting sick of it.
Short version: will get all people to either get insured or through penalty help finance non-pays thoughout the many ER's in the nation.
Will reduce ER crowding by paying for preventive care; primary care centers and physician networks will see patients who need preventive/primary care and alleviate costly ER trips (which, again, currently are unpaid by the uninsured.) (ie: polyps will be caught before becoming tumors, etc)
By getting the young and healthy (read:unlikely to use health insurance beyond preventive care for years) on board it will deflate the cost bubble being borne by older (and sometimes sicker) people.
Finally, when optimal and in effect, will eliminate people going into poverty to cover medical bills.
Yes the roll-out is tough.  So fucking what. It will get better (would be a lot better if cons would give it a chance to breathe)
Not to mention that smart companies like Blue Cross are loading up customers now to drive down costs.
What is so wrong with any of that?

The filth HUSSEIN obama blocks access to the National Mall for WW2 vets, but opens it up for 3rd-world trash demonstrating for illegals' amnesty. Liberalism is a mental disorder. Seriously, you have to be sick in the head to vote Democrat or follow the liar obama.

onan

OH my what a scandal. The national mall has limited access.

Tell me, where the fuck were you when real issues affecting veterans were being relegated to the scrap heap? Like reduction in healthcare through VA hospitals? When soldiers were being put in harms way due to poor or nonexistent armor. When soldiers were kept in rotation past the mandated two tours? Tell me where were you when death benefits including military burials were slashed from ~$2000.00 to $200.00 dollars? Tell me again about how you protested the poor health care offered to families of reserve soldier's families?

Fuck yeah, the mall, that is the issue, fuck you assholes.

The American Revolutionary War was the culmination of the civil and political American Revolution resulting from the American Enlightenment. Brought to a head over the lack of American representation in Parliament, which was seen as a denial of their rights as Englishmen and often popularly focused on direct taxes levied by Parliament on the colonies without their consent, the colonists resisted the imposition of direct rule after the Boston Tea Party.

Once vigorous measures appear to be the only means left of bringing the Americans to a due submission to the mother country, the colonies will submit. - George III King of England

Really.  A traitor because I don't agree with every self - promoting bloviation vomited from your gullet.
This, my friends,  is why you can't talk to conservatives.

And just for giggles how the Hell can the King of a foreign nation be a traitor to ours? Get it together,  man.

Yep.  That is why the GOP has been reduced to bumper sticker policies: keep the foreigners out, no equality for gays, no health care coverage that includes contraception, etc.  All to mask their fundamental disdain for any American who doesn't look or think like them.

Well, they are called the "party of No" for a reason....

Look, I have voted Republican in the past.  My parents were dyed in the wool conservatives and kind and generous, good people.  But number me among those who think the party has veered so far to the right as to be a different animal.  I know some here will argue the opposite and claim that the GOP has become "Democrat Light" (while loudly proclaiming that it is the Democratic party that has veered wildly to the left).  Interesting times....
