What an absolutely wonderful night! Truly amazed as I sat back taking it all in. Couldn't stop smiling. Also, grateful to be enjoying with the awesome community here in Bellgab. Mwah!

Love your avatar pic Chine haha

Midnight in the Desert sounds like being wrapped in a warm blanket and I am so happy right now.

About 10 minutes behind.  Listening to Midnight in the Desert, I'm almost crying right now.  Everything is right.  Thank You, Art.

I have to say I might listen to Coast just to hear if George plays UFO Phil to close the show.... nice juxtaposition

Why would you wash scotch down with Colt 45?

Better than b4 and looking forward to tomorrow night.  Must admit,  the posts were on fire here tonight and I couldn't keep up.

Take us home Crystal Gayle.  Doesn't get any better than that.   8)
That was great.  The ride is over for this evening... But Art will be around tomorrow asking if we want to jump in for another spin around the country- and I think I will take him up on the offer.
I hope Art realizes just how good that show was and that if anything (if it is possible) he may have actually improved from his last retirement.  Perhaps it is the change in venue or the fact that he alone controls the show again, but that was perfect.

Haha thank you.

I think the entire forum wept.

There is no other. You are the best Art and thanks for a great show. Looking back between 2003 and 2010, Art sounded like he lost his passion. Now we know why.

This was a phenomenal show, circa the nineties.

Keep rocking Art.

Ditto. Couldn't of done it without, "a little help from my friends". Thanks again.

And sharing the experience with you lunatics - double pleasure, double fun . See y'all tomorrow.

And you know what the best part about tonight??

All the frustration, the agitation, the anger we've all felt about the direction coast to coast has taken is gone because, it doesn't matter. Art is back and is doing HIS show with Ross Mitchell, with his music, and unscreened open lines.

Can't ask for more. So, now all those feelings we had that upset us and angered us is over with.

Welcome back Art.

Well said, Rossy.
Art is back, in great form, and that's all that matters.

I really want to hear that portion of the show Art listened to last night where they were talking about him.

"He's gonna talk about aliens. WHY DON'T THEY JUST FLOAT DOWN" lol his voice

ScaryDavey

What an awesome experience! I'm looking forward to future shows. Especially Richard C. Hoagland! Woo-hoo! Good-night everyone! 8)

This. Could not have asked for more. Bravo.

+∞.

I was so, so, SO stoked for this that I had to keep dialing back my expectations... I had butterflies earlier in the day, feeling nervous. Would he still have it? Would even 1/100th of his audience return to listen?

Tho I'm a science lover, never been crazy about Kaku. Art was extemporaneous, funny, passionate as ever, called Kaku out once. Opening with quantum non-locality. Classic. Suck it long and suck it hard, Dave.

Open lines? Someone here mentioned a few weeks back that open lines would be a mere shadow of its former self due to Sirius being a paid service. WRONG. The call from the guy that worked in Antarctica... Art *interviewed* the guy, interacted... holy shit, I have to pinch myself.

Tears welled up multiple times as I listened to the first two hours at work.

Just... wow. Speechless. This is like my first hand job and winning the Powerball all rolled into one.

Listening to the repeat, just soaking it in.

Can't even begin to wrap my head around this. Life is so good.

I realize now just how long it's been since I've listened to Art live. My god! The difference is striking. No gimmicks, no "mothership", no lunatic politics, no stupid, repetitive questions. Art has this incredible knack for keeping his guests on point and engagng them intelligently and his interviews are absorbing and thought-provoking as a result. I feel like I just took a cool, crisp drink of fresh water after years wandering the barren, desolate wasteland of C2C.

Art is a natural radio man.  Once he gets into his groove, and it doesn't take long, I can be glued to his every word, and even if I'm not, it's nice to hear his voice filling the room.   Art's had a lot of time to think about what he would change, if anything but the freedom must be glorious.   I will be there and see you for the ride tomorrow nite.  Nice to have good radio to look forward to again.  I haven't had enough so I'm listening to the replay  :D

Yep! I've probably listened to a full RCH show once since Jorge took over in 2003. I'm actually *excited* to hear Art get cranky with Richard.

Gawd, I feel like I'm high after listening to that first show. What a night...

I'm hoping G Noory didn't stop by briefly to put his hirsute hand in the Chex Mix bowl.

Man-O-Manischewitz! Now there's a way to bring out those anchovy undertones.

I really appreciate your empathy, Eddie. Being the eternal lurker, I closely followed your roving reportage last April. It certainly crossed my mind today. There's an almost sickly calm in the air now that it's all over, and the marauding shooters of this afternoon have faded into the rumor mill. It was a small and helpless feeling to be tucked safely away while care flights hovered overhead to assist those whose lives would never be the same. I prefer to gather perspective at the aquarium, but real life arrived in spades today.

WOTR, you described the feeling of lightness after listening to Art so well. The giddiness that I awoke with turned to a much heavier heart as the day wore on, but I am all the more grateful to be here, gathered around this campfire. Thank you for the warm welcome. I've admired so many of you for so long, and am downright tickled to hear from you. The clock just struck my birthday, and to hear Art, Ross, and Some Velvet Morning back together again ... well, I feel like I've already been granted my wildest wish! Thank you each and every one.

I was so excited, now I can really hear everything the second time around.

Like many other bellgabbers have said, all is now right in the world.

Tomorrow night!!!  woo hoo!

That was my favorite call of the night and it happened right off the bat. Art was perfect with his interaction.

I feel so refreshed . . . a Dark Matter shower washing away any residue that was c2c.  Aaahhhhh. :D
