Yep one thing to keep in mind is "the MV way" which is a high tolerance for free speech and light on the moderation, unlike some other more regulated places.  So yeah things can get dicey but the flip side is a real sense there can be honest discussion.

+1. That's why I like it. You can have good discussions here about pretty much anything. It's the perfect forum for Art's show.

I was at Point Pleasant for the 1st time several months back.  The guy at the Mothman Museum told me the most recent sighting was actually in Zanesville, OH.

Ohh my goodness, Mothman. I would not go back to Point Pleasant after a camping trip there several years ago! No, I didn't see Mothman, but it was spooky at every turn. The place where Mothman was seen is now a camp ground. No, I didn't stay there once I realized where I was! I hightailed it! LOL

Nobody here enjoys it. Most of us are here as part of our plea agreement for importing bootleg Russian cigarettes into several Maine elementary schools.
Lol.  Yeah, thought it was just me.  When does the escape committee meet?

Looove the Mothman.  Scares the bejeezus out of me. Never read the book but the movie is very eerie.  Scared me more when I heard about human and non-human MIBs showing up in Pt. Pleasant.

That's awesome, I've only seen a closeup of the statue. Mothman is so creepy.

A big topic that Art really did not go into in depth! Hope he does! Very similar to Skin Walker! The same phenomenon?

OK Bell Gabbers we are asking for your help as Beta testers. We have been working non-stop over the weekend to get an RSS feed working for you. We’ve done some testing on podcast players that we have, but you all have your own favorites. So using your Time Traveler login go to this URL and either click with your browser to launch your default player or enter the URL directly into the player software app. If your podcast player supports authenticated RSS feeds, then you should get a list of shows.

http://rss.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/mitd/   or for RCH http://rss.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/osom/

You may have to enter your login info twice, once for the browser and once for the podcast player app. This is normal and only occurs once.

This is just the beginning and we hope to wack out bugs as the week goes on. Many thanks to Bellgab’s “sbaustin" and your humble webmaster k_rowland. We will go public as soon as we feel it is ready, but the URL won’t change so feel free to continue using the feed.

Shall we have a thread for that, or should I start pasting the horrific mess I just got from trying to login from an incognito Chrome window here?

I could not get it to work in Chrome after multiple attempts. Works fine on Firefox. Charlie is always listening.

ok... only required one validation of uname/pwd to login to the rss url via "browser only" (ffox) - successful download of one show...

please note:  I "DID NOT" use an app on a device - wanted to try it with the least complicated method first...

additionally... (1) might I suggest using an https socket - well just because... those that know, will know why...

and (2) the login terminates when?... again - those that know, will know why I ask...

thanks, gentlemen (and/or gentle-persons)...

These links may not work for all browsers on your PC, they are to be used in your podcast player.  Enter them there. However in some browsers and in some mobile situations, like IOS devices, clicking this in the browser will transfer to the podcast app automatically. But you need to know a little about RSS feeds to use this with a podcast player. You can also enter this URL in iTunes and it will subscribe.

So this is why you are a beta tester, you report what works and what doesn't. Thank You!

On Android 4.1.2 , downloaded "Feedly" rss reader, pasted in the url as given, and no go.

http://rss.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/mitd/

app replies; "No feeds found. . . . please enter the full url."

Clicking link direct from Art's Bellgab post using my mobile's browser gives a "401 unauthorized" yada yada -- I am already successfully logged in to my MITD account from that same browser (UC Browser).

works on vlc (linux, windows untested but as vlc has all the same features regardless of OS ,it should work),although actually saving it is a bit of work.
gpodder works too. better than vlc.

any way of getting older podcasts, say if you have to wipe the device and lose all the older podcasts? or are a new subscriber ?
i have a way, but it doesnt import into my podcatcher.

ChairSpud

The old feed used to but no longer works on the iOS Pocket Casts app, the new feed brings up a message saying this does not appear to be a podcast URL feed. With the old feed, shows appear in Pocket Casts but will not play or download and appear with malformed characters in the names.

The Apple iOS app works fine and plugging in the new feed URL into android app BeyondPod works fine too.

Not ready yet for primetime but a good start, thanks SB.

also what about this from the DMDN website:

If we detect simultaneous multiple logins from your account at different locations, your membership will be terminated.

so if i leave my podcatcher running at home, but want to listen to a new show (because i am at work now) will this violate those terms?

It worked fine with Downcast on Iphone. Spectacular. No issues at all. One ~ 50 meg file for each night.

Thanks Keith and the other guy ...

Excellent point, I had the same thought this morning after reading the new message. This appears to be a DISASTER waiting to happen!

This has saved an immense amount of fooling around.

Thanks again. I would send flowers, but that would be weird.

I finally got round to listening to a bunch of the new shows. They kept piling up and I thought if I didn't dive in soon and make a start on them I never would. I'm glad I did. It's obvious Art is having fun in his new gig when you hear the little half-stifled chuckle he makes now and again - I can't remember another broadcaster getting such a kick out of being on the air and interacting with callers and guests. Compare that to a certain 'other show' (you have to read that with Art Bell-like emphasis) where he seems to be struggling to stay awake most of the time, and you realize how much we have all been missing.

I thought the Bigfoot show was a lot more enjoyable than I would have expected. He got me as close as I am likely to get to thinking that there is something in it, and that it's not just people misidentifying bears and other mundane wildlife. Art did drop the ball a bit though with the caller who was trying to dispute the idea of expert evidence, where Rugg just waffled over the top of him and didn't listen to the question. It was a perfectly sound point, that any sort of authoritative testimony is likely to be flawed, and deserved to get a proper answer.

That Flat Earth show was amazing. I can't recall hearing someone I wanted to hit with a brick more than 'John'. Why Art seemed to think he was a 'bright guy' completely eluded me. I don't think it takes much intelligence to mouth a few bullet points. He wasn't even considering the things the prof was saying and just sailed over the top of them. The one question I wanted to ask him was 'why?' It makes no sense to me why scientists would bother promoting a lie. It's not just a question of growing up with an idea and sticking to it - if it was wrong then all our predictions which we make based on a spherical Earth would be wrong too. I wished I was listening live because I would have wormholed the shit out of that show.

Travis Walton was a bit of a puzzle. People say of guests like Bob Lazar and the GIS that their credibility is supported by the fact that they aren't promoting anything, but it seems like Travis is involved in practically everything these days, with conferences and documentaries. Everything except a burger chain. I'm sure in previous interviews he was a reluctant guest but now he's embraced it all and doesn't sound like he is able to stop presenting himself as UFO Guy. I still don't believe a word of it. I don't know what went on but I think when you get a bunch of loggers screwing about in the woods then anything goes. Perhaps Travis was a bit  of a dick and the other guys wanted to scare him somehow, I dunno.

If I had one small criticism it would concern the callers, who are often boring. Once they get on air they forget what they want to say and Art has to struggle to get something together. Skype sounds weird too, I like to hear a bit of distance between the callers and Art. Anyway, I have gone on too long. It's just great to hear the old boy back on the air again and showing us all how it's done.

RSS working and SOUNDING perfect on VLC both on my PC and my Android!

Walton's just a first class liar, c'mon let's face it. Even the Paracast have been taken in by him. Mmm, experts at the Paracast like Travis. Great research Paracast, well done on your observations !
