Art has a flair for the dramatic, which is probably a big reason why we love him so much. Unfortunately, it can also be problematic at times -- which, let's be honest. Art Bell Dramaâ,,¢ is an awful lot of fun.

You know, I wasn't old enough to stay up that late during Art's heyday. In fact, I didn't even know that he existed until 2010 or so. In poring over the archives -- and later listening to the SXM show -- Art strikes me as a guy who you simply can't keep off of the airwaves because he just loves broadcasting that much. I mean, if the Apocalypse were to happen tomorrow (and let's not doubt George Noory's possible involvement in that), there'd be a lone voice that rose from the crackling wasteland of Ham frequencies. Sometimes, it would give status reports; sometimes, it would just repeat an endless stream of numbers; sometimes, it would even hail Bigfoot. There's no question that the lone voice would belong to Art Bell, and he'd do it until a glowing cloud of spent uranium swallowed Pahrump whole and digested it into oblivion.

So, I got worked up for about ten minutes this morning. Now, I'm calm. I'm confident that Art will be on the air again, just not as soon as July. This recent hiccup is nothing.

By the way art gets a Ding Ding Ding for his Baltimore prediction on Facebook. Which is exactly why he should get back on the air.

Bell has more hits than hogue who is tonight's C2C guest.

Now I feel better *and* I want to replay a Fallout. Thank you. :)

How about a catch phrase for Art's comeback?  Any suggestions?

No Snooring allowed...

I think it was 96 or 97 when I started listening to Art. Worked the overnight at Kinkos and he kept it interesting.

Sorry. That's all I got.

As in the game, Fallout? Fantastic one.

Art said he will continue to build his home studio. There is time to work things out with Keith or find a new partner. There is TIME. Continue with the studio.

Hey, didn't Art once own a radio station near Pahrump? What was the name? KN..something? Art?

Yeaaah! Played 3 first, something intrinsically magical about wandering the the wastes with your radio blaring old timey jangles and three dogs voice.

Rumor is that Bethesda will announce Fallout 4 this summer!

So it sounds like Keith was way over his head with this project to begin with, and the fact that Art told him to stop being an asshole finally made him crack.

Poor Keith. The fact that the world evolved and no longer relies on straight hand-coded non-mobile responsive websites was too much for him.

Without Art and access to ArtBell.com, Keith will fade into obscurity.
Maybe that's what he wants? He has been dealing with a lot of chatter. Not everyone can handle it.

We'll see what happens. People need a little time to simmer down and let cooler heads prevail. I think anyone making any decisions right now needs to relax and put them off for a few days. It's hard when you're passionate about what you do, but that little bit of time away helps refocus things.

Jeez, I sound like Lee Cigar.

The potential consequence I see as a result of Keith leaving is Art and trust.

Hiring a webmaster and/or a tech guru who can build an infrastructure that can accommodate what Art deems necessary for the new show is easy. But with Art, I suspect there will be a lot of issues concerning with trust, which more than anything, may give him cold feet about truly moving forward with this.

I would hope that the best case scenario is that maybe some of the competent people at BellGab are in a position to help Art. I hope I'm not out of line for merely mentioning this, but it was on last week's GabCast where, MV or someone stated their means for streaming is all Art would really need -- and they pull it off without a hitch.

Umm....'calming' is not the word that I would use here....   8)

I could be wrong but I believe I read a post somewhere Art believes many of the members of BellGab to be vaguely trustable.  ::)
Proceed with caution, Art!

Keith Rowland departing and the usual "don't know what will happen but..." message from Art. Commentary on Rowland being grouchy isn't surprising from what some podcasters have said in the past year. It seemed like he was having a hard time monetizing the podcast network. In that sense you still need to sell tradition media slots, not just goofy banner ads. ??

Fact is that Art still has a relationship with KNYE (Karen Jackson). I'd bet if he was in dire need of help, KNYE could hook him up locally. Hell KNYE streams online today. He could remote from his house and re-invest in KNYE's streaming services instead of starting from scratch. Probably would take less time, less money and he'd be on a terrestrial station with potential syndication. And he'd be helping out the local town to boot.

??

I actually see this event as a positive.

You're a-ok in my book. Play Fallout 2 next!

Danger!UFO

Yes. Continue building the home studio. Options will become available sooner or later.

Art is the boss as it should be. If Art asks Keith to do something the response should be 'yes, sir'.  Cool off, Keith. Think things over. Again. You've come too far to throw the DMRN away. Your friendship with Art goes too far back to let this happen. If the ego is too big, then, well maybe it is time to go.

KNYE already has a music license, correct? Art would be covered under that license if he broadcasts on KNYE? And they stream.

I haven't listened to DMRN enough. Are you saying they weren't running ads in between programs?

There seems to be a faction war between 3 and NV. I choose 3.

Wow...I may be new but I do not deserve that kind of treatment at all.  I never said that no one here is smart but I joined the conversation, saw everyone going on about it being Noory, did searches, and could not find anything that concretely pointed him...hence the question.  No need to be rude as I was asking a question, not trying to be an ass...

Don't sweat it, and post often.
