Pity Art can't go back in time with Bielek and stop himself from falling off that utility pole.  :-\
Hmm, he did have a time machine at one time but was afraid to use it.
Maybe an alternate reality Art Bell did use it to save his back and Ramona too. :)

I don't know Falkie2013, life is about loosing things. I think you grow (spiritually) when you have lost--more so then when you have gained. It seems to me that gaining things seems to keep you here wanting more. I think that the loss of something in life prepares you for that date in space and time when you will lose it all. All that you have accumulated here - in this space and time will amount to nothing. Nothing at all,

I hope Art realizes his fan understand he is 71 years old with a bad back. If he needs days off its fine. We understand.

Ah, no. Arthur William Bell will be 70 years of age on June 17th. Wow. I remember when Art use to talk with  Wayne Green about his age, and "73 magazine."

btw: Wayne Green passed away -- September 13, 2013 (aged 91) -- we will see you on the other side my friend......

Did you ever read Heidegger?  You just summarized in one paragraph what it took him a book to write.  Nice.

No insult meant! Glad you are doing well. Just saying the system is suspect and even those I know "in it" relatives who are doctors say to be wary of unnecessary (especially elective) surgery and drugs without second opinions (ESPECIALLLY if you are older, simply going to a hospital can get you into trouble due to ancillary infections and stress of recovery) and also bitch about the the problems of bad pain medication (the DEA crackdown so people who need can't, and lack of over-sight and pain-med mills and those going "to the street" which causes more problems.)

Oh, albrecht, this is why they are said to have a practice. Occasionally they put together the right meds and the right surgery, but they are still just practicing to see what works.  :(

No I haven't read Heidegge.  But I am finding that more and more we are all beginning to meld in this peculiar way. We are hearing others say the exact same things that we are thinking or thinking of saying ... I guess no one will have "private" thoughts any more ... We Are Truly (becoming) One!

Puhleeeeze people .. Art has stated SEVERAL times that he doesn't want to hear your back stories/remedies since his is fucked beyond repair. No surgery. No treatment. No shit. So just knock it off and suckit up on your own back issues.

We can only hope his back will let him do some shows ... hopefully many .. but your remedies don't do him any good. Think about it .. sliding down a telephone pole and landing on your ass. Sympathy can be found in the dictionary somewhere between shit and syphilis. Don't think Art wants any of the above ... maybe understanding -- there is a difference.

You say this as if you have overcome such an obstacle as this....have you?  "Puhleeeeze" share if you have. I'm sure that Art would be most appreciative if you do...

Lost my son to a complete brain dead coma, doctors wanted to pull full life support after 3 weeks but decided for family's sake to hold off until after Christmas. He came out of the coma on 11:45pm Christmas Eve.

Please... Who cares what Art wants :o  there are others with back problems that may benefit from posts.

MV allows us a pretty free rein to police ourselves, to not run too far off topic.
I too tried that self appointed forum moderate crap, it didn't go so well for me. :'(

What difference does it make if I have or haven't?? What part of Art has said he doesn't care about your remedies don't you understand?? Apparently you don't pay much attention to Art's posts.

Then maybe those with chronic back issues should start a thread titled "how I fixed my aching fucking back" .. maybe? Art has stated several times that he isn't interested in your stories or remedies. But maybe you don't care? So free rein yourself to a different thread... or don't ... I frankly could giveafuck less. mostly. Just a bit tired of back stories .. but at least HIS is relevant to the upcoming show.

Pirates on youtube have many alt accounts. This is how they get away with posting so many shows without receiving a copyright notice. If their account does get closed, they just upload it to their other channels. Youtube is a mess.

Yeah, the Opie & Anthony show and lots of related content has been posted on 3 accounts that alternate when they get complaints.

WhiteCrow, thanks for sharing the loss you were preparing for. Perhaps it has prepared you for what it will be like when it is your turn to Knock On Heaven's Door. I think that this is a most melodic way of expressing that event; ♦♦"Randy Crawford - Knockin On Heaven's Door"♦♦ ... enjoy!  :)

An indirect way to help back and or joint problems is to lose weight if one if overweight, that makes a giant difference.  As far as backs go, the best exercise for a back is simple walking.   Sometimes people look for far out remedies, forgetting or not realizing the basics.

I have had back and joint problems that come and go, but not nearly as bad as some people.  I also used to be a massage therapist, and of course massage therapy and chiropractic can be helpful.

deadmeow, you are not too far off the mark. Art and Ramona built a hand ball court because they found that Art's back problem was helped when he lost weight and exercised.

I think people can slow down the pirates on Youtube there is no way to stop it entirely. John Wells has done a good job of going after people. I am not a fan of his show, but he did do a good job of that.

okay phrodo, it's quite possible that some of Art's posts might have stated that he " doesn't care about the remedies being suggested
being."

Would you be so kind as to point out where Art happens to express those sentiments in his posts.

Howdy! I am a Art Bell fan originally from The Netherlands but I have living in LA for a long time. I am very excited about Art new show and I will make a subscription to listen. I am very happy about the news. Art is very much better than Georg Noree. I do not want to listen to the Coast to Coast show one minute longer. Thank you.

deadmeow

I just remembered something.  One advantage of Midnight in the Desert vs Sirius Dark Matter is that people outside of North America can subscribe to it.  The show's callers will definitely have a different flavor from terrestrial radio and satellite radio.

I guess it's a point in time and space that isn't  that known ... you'll still have it when Art passes it on....I guess those born on that date will be wondering what has or hasn't occurred yet.

I guess pirate hunting will be up to us. Sounds like fun to me. I aim to misbehave!  Now if I can figure out how to replace pirated copies of Art's hard work with old copies of Dora the Explorer..........

Oh and a couple of questions for you Art as you wish ( get the movie ref?) Are you going to revive the " From the Kingdom of NYE"  tag line and speaking of which, Are you going to air on your old station KNYE or would that hinder money flow, licensing, pirating etc?

Art did post that specific instruction. I am not going to search for it... but he did post it.

I seem to recall him saying that too.

He did. We must all remember that what may work for us doesn't work for everyone. I am sure Art has his own remedies that work for him. After 40 years of flying helicopters and jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, I feel his pain. But, He will be back as he said. It wont be the first time he has worked while under the weather , so to speak.

I agree, I remember this also,  perhaps, several people weren't on the board when he originally posted that he didn't want to hear any advice ...

AND, lets not forget that Art was the one that did bring up his back hurting and going to see Doctor yesterday ... also, its kinda normal for people to start sharing experiences when they see a comment like the one Art posted ...  (IMHO).
