"escort of Hell's Angels?" Even when they played SA? That Bandito territory, a risky move (recall Waco bike event a few months ago! Or presumed sniper killing of an Angel who wanted to start an Austin chapter?
I never heard them live. I'm sure it is good but, here's the honesty part, I turned off to them by some friends who were big fans, and they both were engineers and had that "nerd" side and I reckoned, wrongly, the band can't be that great and/or the scene at a concert must look like the engineering cafeteria (lots of nerds, not many girls.) Too big of fans (like someone on this board even.) Sort of like old Deadheads, Phish, etc. All conversations were about Rush. I don't doubt their musical ability but I agreed with the author's initial though still see Slayer  (or Megadeth) in a smaller club. Epic. Can your ears and body survive the mayhem? And for large venues I'm all "Up the Irons," Maiden consistently puts on good shows. But I'm getting tempted for a Rush concert after all these glowing reviews. Plus I'm getting older and probably don't need to fight mosh at concerts.

I had the same experience. I often argued with my Rush fanboy friends about how much I thought they were the band for goobers, artificial, pretentious, etc. Eight months ago I experienced drain bamage. Now I can't stop listening. If they tour again I will be there.

Besides the musical skills I do admire the longevity together. A band has to be about the hardest thing to keep together besides, arguably, a restaurant or bar, with original members/friends. So many, especially, in the metal genre are like junior high-school girls with back-biting, cliques, changes, feuds, etc. Before I go to an Exodus (or whatever) concert I have to wikipedia who is the current line-up and there are graphs etc showing it. Someone clever needs to merge them all into a spreadsheet because so much cross-overs, personal "projects", group "projects", and coming and goings. I love the Mega/Metallica feud. We think politics is bad. hahaha.

Saw this video when MTV made an error and actually showed a nostalgic music video. Took awhile to find it again.... David Byrne is a musical genius and Marisa Monte gives great voice.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDborZdgxN4&list=FLxfTdYuvjokENAzCEvPeefg&index=20

It's Saturday Night already..

I was expecting Glenn Yarbrough.

My youngest. This about 2 years after he first picked up an old acoustic at his uncle`s house. I`m very proud of him. He`s a good kid.

An original from my little Christian rock star.
Actually, he`s not so little anymore.

To date, this is my favorite original song as composed by my son.
