If(?) you're meaning that death threats can quickly silence the press or (better) make them self-sensor; given the current mood, I think they'd like nothing more. They'd circle the wagons and hang his ass. It would be all over Twitter quick enough, i.e. not surppressible. The particular content which prompted  the threat can and would be *shared* quickly, and they'll protect each other and the info best they can. That was part of the messsge underlying the Open Letter -- announcing a "solidarity", a united front, unlike anything seen in this country before. The press are "preping" for just this kind of warfare -- which is _really_ sad, that they/we should have to be doing such a thing in this country and at this date. And this is exactly why Trump & co is such an unpresidented development and so frightening the world over (excepting Russia and Israel that is).

Ha, I know several women going up for the march. But they are fretting about the "carbon impact" of flying up there. It is fun to see the knots leftists twist themselves into. Also there is a feud with one- they fell out because one claimed "she couldn't understand not being black or a lesbian and she can afford a nanny." The other was outraged that that person claimed more victim-hood than her and that she couldn't understand because she was not black and a lesbian.

Every major US city will be having its own smaller-scale event (march/rally) locally the same day, which is to say, the story will get enough coverage to dim whatever tone or momentum or spot-light the Trump team might have hoped to establish/maintain from the starting-gate. And I expect that protests and unrest could become common if Trump doesn't watch his step (and restraint is not one of his know attibutes).


Nevertheless, I'm quite fed-up myself with lots of what defines contemporary stereotypical lefty/liberal/progressive  correctness. Trite, hypocrisy, and way too feminised for my stomach, is a start. I'm in San Francisco, currently defined by 4 big issues at least: marriage equality, sanctuary city (for hispanics), affordable housing, and a blight of homelessness. The second two issues belie the sincerity of the first two. SF citizens don't give a fuck about equalty, only self interest. Gays do not step forward to help/defend the homeless for example. They dance in the streets about their "rights" on the same day that the local lawmakers legislate the "lawful" terrorizing of the homeless. And the police bend over and follow/enforce anything whatsoever the city-hall fags put their pens to. I'm sick of it all.

I could die a happy(er) man if I believed that a Spring in Western Civilization were soon to occure in _any_ corner of the planet! As far as I can see there is very little of the necessary base and infrastructure remaining in the US (for instance). I watched in just the last 20 years the total loss/destruction of every remaining pocket of small industry or warehouse space (let alone big) throughout my area. ALL of it is now condos, re-zoned, never to return. The condo dwellers are on the whole, just as useless to anyone else as the recent batches of kids sired by the once working classes. The boys have the hands of young girls, never picked up a screw-driver in their lives, nothing but thumbing-out text messsges on their phones -- a liability, not an asset, and I don't see that improving or changing any time soon. Critical thought is not possible when "it's all good" becomes mother's milk, when Judgment is "bad". I just don't see where the arc turns upwards from here. As Bob sings; "Everything is Broken"!  Whatever the fix might be, I fail to see how Trump and his Picks could provide or represent the needed solution.

A restructured DOJ under Trump scares the shit out of me. During the last 8 years the DOJ has been the only thing, the only check, standing between State's and Police Depts abuses of power (across the country) and any and all US citizens of any stripe or leaning everywhere (i.e. equally). Modern Police Depts, unbridled, nothing and noone to fear, will not be a pretty thing, to/for anyone concerned.
