Glad to know that the majority of people in this country aren't easily fooled morons. Hillary won the popular vote and is ahead by about 607,000 votes now.

The reason she lost is because the base was apathetic and didn't come out to vote like they did in 2008 and 2012. And they're going to pay for it. Like Obama stated today, elections have consequences. There wasn't a huge surge of white rural votes. There was large downtick of Democratic voters since the last elections.

Of course part of that reason could be because the media was stating that Hillary has been ahead the whole time, and that she basically had it in the bag, and it may have caused people to not bother to vote. Also the idiot Comey did not help. And the fact that WikiLeaks and Russia were on the side of Trump.

It's not an official position.  Rinse Pribus is the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, or whatever it's called. 

The person considered the leader of the Party is the one making policy the others rally around.  A sitting President.  The candidate to unseat the party of the sitting president.  The more influential person of the party opposing the president, usually either the party leader in the House or Senate.

Right now Obama is the party leader, and has been since his election.  Hilary lost, she won't be it.  Sanders and Warren are trying to pull things their way, and the way it's looking they'll be successful. 

If the Ds take the House or the Senate in 2018, the person at the head of that will be the party leader.  If a strong candidate for president emerges at some stage of the 2020 election cycle, they would be the party leader.  And so on.

Right now Donald Trump is the Republican Party leader, and the establishment Rs in the House and Senate are NOT HAPPY.  They'll play along for now, cautiously see how things play out, and either backstab him, or get on board. 

With Reagan, they got on board, but Reagan brought a lot of new ideological Conservative Congressmen and Senators during his term, it will be interesting to see if Trump is able to get others in his mold, whatever that is, elected - or if he's even interested in doing that.

Actually what happened was a lot of Republicans refused to vote for Trump and voted for either Clinton or someone else.  A lot of disaffected voters who haven't voted in years and rustbelt Democrats voted for Trump.  A lot of the Democrat base simply was not enthused about Clinton. Witness her pitiful rallies.  Sure the last ones were well-attended because of musicians like Springsteen appearing beside her.
