Ha! Thuh trooth!  Even freaking Michigan?

"For the first time in nearly 30 years, Michigan elected a Republican president, voting Donald Trump into the White House instead of Democrat Hillary Clinton, by a margin on .28 percent."

Oh the irony!!! I take it you've never been to the UK? If you do, tell the average Brit what he should say or think. Better still, tell a Glaswegian on a friday night in Sauchiehall street! Tell us how it goes will you?  ;D
Trump would likely give those Glaswegains a kiss, if you know what I mean, and then buy the house a round at the Horseshoe. I wonder later at a meeting if he will give the Queen some recordings of his speeches and some Region 1 DVDs that can't be played (unless you know the right Phillips DVD player) in her country as a gift and return the Churchill bust?

i wonder what kind of " game" obama's staff will play on trump.

"the Clinton administration treated the White House worse than college freshmen checking out of their dorm rooms,'' Barr said Tuesday. ''They disgraced not just themselves but the institution and the office of the presidency as well.''

The GAO concluded that ''damage, theft, vandalism, and pranks did occur in the White House during the 2001 presidential transition.'' The report stated that some incidents, such as removing keyboard keys, placing glue on desk drawers and leaving obscene voicemail messages ''clearly were intentional,'' and intentional damage would constitute a criminal act under federal law. No prosecutions are planned, though."

I wonder if the first thing Trump did while meeting Obama was to burst into laughter?
"He's heeeeeeerrrrrrr!"

Wow, really? I heard about Netanyahu, but not May.

Why not? Even Trump isn't so stupid as to not keep our PM sweet. Far too much he depends on from her.

Also the entire American character is an indignant rebellous Yankee. When you start telling people what they can and can't say or think, Americans are going to naturally rebel against you. We're not British people for fuck sake. There's the whole cigarette ads effect. Like when early anti-cigarette ads were so ridiculous that they had the opposite effect of making cigarettes cool.

They're so fucking stupid. If the country doesn't implode in the first six months, Trump wins. And if Trump actually has a decent efficient Presidency and delivers some of the things he's talking about, this form of liberalism is dead forever.

I think that's an excellent analysis. Thought policing will just make people give you the finger here. It's a basic trait of our culture. Be you, be unique, and do something with yourself is still engrained in our mindsets enough that eventually political correctness and liberalism would take a step too far when trying to stuff everyone into neat politically correct boxes.

But mark my words, this movement isn't just confined to the US. If Trump's successful in his presidency, Europe will begin swinging to the right. And that scares me. I know what to expect from the American right. I have no clue what to expect from the European right.

In her defense from various accounts Hillary drinks about the same amount as a freshman, though instead of Beast she swills expensive liquor.

He also invited British PM Teresa May to the White House today within 48 hours of being elected.
I wonder if he asks the PM to lift the ban?  ;D

I doubt it. He's only currently riding a wave in the US as long as it suits Trump for him to do so. He's a very minor player in the UK. He essentially ran away after the Brexit vote as the reality dawned on him; i.e. his underwear isn't big enough afterall, so he left it for others to sort out the shit.

He can ask....he can ask anything. He might not get though. And anyway, it won't be her decision.

Oh him! Yeah. The bloke who oversaw the closure of the UK's mining industry. Tens of 1000's thrown out of work. Trump could ask him how he did it without a concience.

A thing I was thinking about. How will a Trump presidency effect various "alternative" radio and shows? A lot of people made careers off of Clinton and Obama, even Bush to an extent. What will their spin and content be now? And should we sell short on gun, ammo, safe etc stocks (the only industries that Obama REALLY helped?)

That's an interesting point.  I only have my family to go by, but I get the impression there's a harder edge to it there.  Take race, for example:  my American redneck relatives might make casually racist comments watching some protest on tv but would treat any individual black man decently.  Can't say the same for the ones in Norway.

#Calexit is trending. If California and or the other left coast states want to secede, I say let them. Without their electoral votes, the rest of the country will finally have a balance away from Democrats winning the White House.

It's the natural pendulum shift in our society. I would think they start going after the remnants of the Clinton Foundation and globalist elements from the conservative perspective. Like how Michael Moore was obsessing on corporations during the Clinton years. And liberals will go after the Trump administration.

I'm all in for The Land of Fruits and Nuts.  The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia can at least annex The State of Massholes, too.

Taking what you said as equal across the board, how do you think the result would have been recieved by Trump and the, shall we say, more militant of his supporters if he hadn't won? Bearing in mind he a)insisted the election was rigged anyway-since no mention of that..odd; b)He would only accept the result if he won.

You think rioting wouldn't have happened in some areas?
Not that it matters- but I suspect that you are correct.  It's easy to say "the right would not have rioted" or even point to past elections (Obama) as proof.  But you did not have the extremely heated campaign with your man of choice screaming that if he does not win, it is only because it is rigged.

This was a whole different cycle that was bound to produce some riots, lots of butthurt and lots of anger no matter who won.  Now you have one side saying that they would have just accepted it quietly while they claim this was their "last chance to save society, their last chance to stop corruption and oppression" in other posts.  Everybody believed that this was their last shot at "making America great again", draining the swamp and taking back their country before it was gone forever just a week ago.  This week?  They would have just accepted the results and said "cest le vie", too bad our country will be fucked to eternity.

Actually, if they honestly believed what they were saying, I would be very disappointed if they just let America go without doing anything other than say "too bad- a real shame.  Oh well, she was a great country but I concede that it is gone and accept that."

But... we will never know.
