I have to admit that like many others I thought it was a virtual impossibility.  Apparently the media suppression of and/or utter disinterest in this vast swath of voters was quite effective.

Hillary got 11 million less votes than Obama got in 2008 and 6 million less than he got in 2012.

Trump get several million less than McCain and got even less than Romney in 2012.

There were something like 15 million less votes cast than in 2008. There was a huge block of voters that refused to vote for either candidate.

That was the purpose of getting him to name the people he would consider for the Supreme Court. He came up with a list of 20 solid conservatives and said he would choose fom that list.

Getting a strong conservative in place will help establish a firewall and prevent even him from arbitrary measures which are not constitutional.

I'm glad Trump did that.  I dreaded the picks Hillary would have made.  They would have just been commie stooges who would have proudly supported Stalin, if need be, to preserve their power.  America, the America my father fought for, along with millions of others, those who gave all, would have been lost.

Great Aunt planted a pear tree(I think)  that was, as I learned, over the water pipe.) It died I went over to say hi and she mentioned, take it out. Ha, roots wouldn't come out and got pick ax and going for it. Wet....no water to house, on weekend. Luckily knew some guys so solved. But funny. Seriously like striking oil but not 'black gold' but water that was muddy from the hole and dirt!

Ok but those are absolute numbers right, but in terms of relative numbers somewhere along the line the media missed that a large chunk of voters were 1) willing to cross over to Trump and/or 2) quite unenthusiastic about coming out for Clinton.  I would argue this reflects a general bias in how the media framed the whole election for a year.

Definite media bias and a sign they were drinking their own bathwater. They didn't account for this being a totally different election. People crossed over to both candidates but there was more energy for Trump than there was for Clinton. He got the ones to crossover in states that Romney lost and held enough of the base in the Red states.

The establishment including the media were heavily invested in keeping the status quo. They spun the story to try and control the narrative.

Trump recognized the building of the momentum that started with the formation of the Tea Party in 2011. There will be books AND theses written about this election.
