Ask the suckers at the Carrier plant in Indiana how Trump's rescue plan worked out for them.

Are you truly unaware of the many announcements by major corporations that they plan to build factories in the U.S?  Volvo was the latest to announce on Friday. You continue to give every indication that you are a total ignoramus who doesn’t know what’s going on in his own country and brings nothing to the table.

The marks workers were all over social media last week complaining about their misfortune, saying they've been massively had.

Forgotten in the narrative was the millions Carrier got from Indiana taxpayers so it could send hundreds of jobs to the hated Mexico, and use the rest of the money to automate its factory with robots to get rid of the rest of the employees.

Typical Trump shakedown.

Seems like he saved 800 jobs http://www.ksdk.com/mobile/article/news/nation-now/indiana-carrier-plant-to-lay-off-215-workers-on-thursday/465-f1e9033e-991e-4e4d-a701-462d25f70337

Actually it says that it saved 800 union jobs but 1100 remain employed at the plant. It seems like he delivered on his promise.

The kicker is that I could type up a list pages long.  And the fist time I point out a flaw or say that the jeans that America is wearing may not be slimming you will throw a hissy fit and cry that "that communist does not love me."

As for Trump- there are positives... But there are also a lot of negatives.  I'm not going to go into licking the ass of your hero.  I will say that I believe that he honestly wants to keep his election promises.  Agree with what he is doing, or disagree- he is one of the only modern politicians who is doing what he told his base supporters that he would.

All the feigned panic over Trump by the DC and media elites is such crap.  It stuns me it's worked to the extent it has.

A big part of it - other than the shock of losing an election they thought they couldn't lose, and the rejection of the assumption their Party of Government should be the ones in power - is to send a message to any other non-politicians that they'd better not even think about running for office in the future, that this is the treatment they can expect.

A good example is the discussion I had earlier with 30octavefart. He started saying Carrier and Indiana was a big failure for Trump. But what I could find as late as 1/10/18 was he either saved 800 or 1100 jobs and in 2016 said he had saved 1000.  But to hear 30of talk it was a major fail, Carrier absconded with $7 million in tax savings and all the jobs went to Mexico.

But if you try and do a google search none of the media outlets reported on the success. I found it on a lical newssite.

Even now ''Joe'' Kennedy and his toadies are drafting and redrafting his ''official response'' - desperately trying to piece together a plausible narrative about how working for the SEIU and handout America is actually ''fighting for the middle class''.

With corrupt and stupid Maxine Waters ready to give her separate but equal speech to their other great constituency on BET.  (They don't need a separate speech specifically for the big city white liberal elite - the're so arrogant and convinced they can use the Ds to tell the rest of us how to run our lives that nothing would tear them away from the Party).

No doubt the various fake news outlets are working together coordinating these ''speeches'', and their ''responses'' to them.

I really don't think it's coming from insecurity. A significant percentage of the liberals on this board are Canadians or other foreigners that do nothing but crap on our nation and yet will try to tell you that globalism is just some sort of tinfoil hat stuff. The constant barrage of attacks is proof enough that it isn't.

A significant number of you also claim to be disgruntled conservatives or libertarians and yet never espouse or even sympathize with ANY corresponding policy. I think this is what he's pointing out and it's a legit criticism.

I see.  So we're back to all Conservatives oppose all regulations.  It's simply not possible for people to be against the current size of the bureaucracy, the amount of power they've seized for themselves, and level of taxation, yet still support certain regulations.

When we oppose certain laws and regulations, the conclusion must always be that we also want to poison the air and water, and let kids and old people die.

If I believe a handful of companies now control access to what we see on the internet, are acting as censors due to political cronyism in exchange for favors, and support true net neutrality - which no one but the top executives of these companies opposed in the not so distant past - then I must be a hypocrite.

Yeah, ok, you got me

You're a hypocrite because you're not consistent. Your fundamental objection to anything more than limited government is that it leads to autocracy, but if more government serves your partisan interests then that's fine. You don't want these large companies broken up (which would at least be broadly consistent) you want them controlled from the top down. And however limited you might intend the role of government to be, it would only get more invasive as time went on. I don't think you have a single principle you're not prepared to toss overboard if it suited you at the time.

Have you considered that your idea of what I mean by limited government may not be completely accurate?  Or that you may be confusing a broad abstract ideal with addressing issues that occur in the real world?  I generally refer to philosophical governance in broad terms - if I at some point suggest the need to address specific issues, it's not de facto contradictary with a preference for limited government.

It's limited government, not no government.  To me that means for the most part being limited to solutions for problems that government is best suited to address.  I haven't even offered any specific rules or regulations on net neutrality when it comes to access to information, so it seems premature to deem them ''hypocritical''.

When we have an oligopoly of massive companies, in a fairly new sector, whose products are heavily used - and those companies are able and willing to censor access to informational content in a trade for political favor, it's a problem.  A problem in our body politic, in the economy, and in our society as a whole.  A problem that only government can address.  That seems to fit it's role to me.

I'm no more a ''hypocrite'' for suggesting true net neutrality when it comes to access to content, than I would be for opposing slavery, supporting laws baring children from working in sweatshops, or preventing individuals or companies from polluting our air and water.

As far as me not being for breaking a few of these companies up, when did I say that?
