Well, one difference is Obama went far beyond the law, multiple ongoing felonies were committed by him and his administration, and he was enormously intentionally destructive to tis country.

Comey isn't universally liked (but then when did being FBI director become a popularity contest?) but his integrity hasn't been questioned by either Reps or Dems.

Most people don't go over the poll details, methodology, or even read the article, they just look at the headline.  In fairness to Miser, she's shown she's not really equipped to look beyond a headline.

Reading the link, I found the following information on how the poll was conducted (Sample and Methodology Detail link):

The sample size was a poll of 1361 Registered Voters, taken nationally over the period between May 31 -June 6.  The Party Affiliations of those surveyed was as follows:

Republican 23%
Democrat 35
Independent 36
Other/DK/NA 7

The description of the survey included the following:

''This survey uses statistical weighting procedures to account for deviations in the survey sample from known population characteristics, which helps correct for differential survey participation and random variation in samples. The overall adult sample is weighted to recent Census data using a sample balancing procedure to match the demographic makeup of the population by region, gender, age, education and race.''


First off, rather than a current 'snapshot', the poll was taken over a week.  A lot can happen in DC in a week, this is less valid than if it were a current, 'overnight' poll.

Is 1361 respondents, over a week, enough to present a valid sample?  They say yes, with a 3.2% margin of error.  I'm not so sure.

Republicans 23%.  This obviously grossly underrepresents the Presidents supporters.  More than 1 in 3 of those surveyed was a registered ''Independent''?  Really?  Is this believable?  No - I'm guessing many of these were Democrats but they couldn't show that as the party affiliations already look very unfair.

Then we find out the results from the 1361 people were ''corrected'' for ''differential survey participation'', and ''balanced'' to ''match demographic makeup'' by such characteristics as race and gender.  Given the rest of this, isn't that just a wee bit suspicious?  Not only do they have a tiny sample, underrepresent the president's supporters, they then ''adjust'' that result.  They don't adjust it for Party Affiliation - no, they adjust it for characteristics like ''race''.  Which means more blacks and Hispanics, which means more Democrats, which means more ''disapproval''. 

And lo and behold!  the president has low approval ratings.


Just to see the bias we're dealing with, let's look at a few of the questions.  I very much doubt pollsters ever asked these questions about Obama.  Just asking them puts doubt in people's minds when answering.  In court they call it leading the witness:

11. Would you say that Donald Trump - is honest, or not?
12. Would you say that Donald Trump - has good leadership skills, or not?
14. Would you say that Donald Trump - is level headed, or not?
16. Would you say that Donald Trump - is intelligent, or not?
18. Do you think that President Trump will be president for the entire four years of his term, or not?
19. Do you think that President Trump is abusing the powers of his office, or not?

That's where I stopped reading them.
