What happened to C2C Bumper Music?

His bumper music just seems to be music someone threw into the show.  It's unlike Art's music, which was an integral part of the show.  Bumper music is difficult to do correctly - and obviously far beyond the mediocre capabilities of the current Coast crew.

Doesn't the bumper music have to be good in the first place ?

I don't remember where I found the site, but there was a site that had all of Art's old bumper music and I downloaded most of it to my Imac.

I've done NONE of the with Snoory's slumber music.

His music sucks. I was listening to old music last night. I was playing Gino Vanelli and it was good. Also some of the older 70's music. George does not know what is good.

I doubt if Jorch selects much of the music.  I'm guessing some Tommy-like gopher selects the line-up based upon what they think Jorch prefers, plus maybe a few zingers just for the fun of it.  Just another formulaic part of C2C which makes it so much uncreative crap.

I don't believe I've ever heard Jorch complain about the music.  He'll make some lame compliments on occasion like "howsh about dat Frankie" but that's about all I've noticed.

Jorch probably plays this banger. And does the ass twerk to it with Tom Danheiser..

Noory obviously has never picked the bumper music, that job is delegated to his staff and a lot of the selections are just old Art Bell selections.
The non-Bell selections added are obvious, such as Frank Sinatra, UFO Phil, etc.

That's waay too "hep" for ol' Georch. This is more his speed:

Red Rubber Ball - Cyrkle, The

The ass-twerking with Tommy is certainly up his alley though.

Gino Vanelli is tame compared to anything John wells plays. I like R&B. Good music is always good and it lasts. But I was into that until I met my husband Jerry who introduced me to Jazz. We saw live music in NYC. At a hole in the wall club. and we met the musicians and spoke music with them. It was cool.

Thing I can't stand the most about the bumper music is they always seem to play the most over-played obvious gold record type songs.  So e.g. Dylan: Knockin on Heaven's Door, Simon & Garfunkel: Sounds of Silence, Elton John: Your Song etc etc.  It's like c'mon have a little originality and play something slightly more interesting sometimes.  I could easily think of like 20 great Dylan songs alone that aren't overplayed and would be great.

Also how about some more recent, say later than 1985 stuff that could be a good match, like Radiohead or Smashing Pumpkins or maybe even the Pixies/Frank Black (who wrote lots of songs about space and UFOs and such).

But please, please stop with that late 50's early 60's cheesy doo-wap stuff that George seems to love so much.  I can imagine old Georgie crooning along with those moldy oldies during the breaks and I just can't take it.

It's not going to change with Jorch.  At most, Jorch just views the music as filler and a bumper between breaks.  Art recognized the music was a key part of the show and important for setting the mood for the listener.  But that obviously took a little thought on Art's part.  Lazy Jorch could care less.  As long as one of the unimaginative PremRat clones plugs some song in the right place, that's all that counts.  I wouldn't be surprised if they just have an approved list of moldy oldies they just rotate through.  Some old songs from Art's days, some Noory favorites, and a hodgepodge of others.   It pretty much sounds that way.  Stale and boring, just like the rest of Jorch's shows.  I don't even want to think about the lame attempt for "creativity" with the supposed emerging artist garbage they play on the first Sunday of the month.  :P

I'm not a big fan of Wells but at least he plays some different music when he's hosting.

Am I the only one or is Noory's bumper music some of the worst musical selections that you've ever heard in your life ?

I'm not talking about Sinatra or stuff he uses that Art used to but songs by unGawdawful rock singers and submerged artists who may have come from sunken Atlantis or from the hole under the North Pole. I don't know where he finds these musical trolls he subjects US to each night.

I haven't listened to the show in years, but it's probably that hipster reincarnated mid-90's alternative shit that's "hip" right now. It was bad enough the first time around. Basically any dork with an acoustic guitar and a high-pitched voice.  The sooner the record industry vanishes the better.. along with all that autotuned rap crap as well.

I actually get annoyed whenever Jorch plays "The Magnificent Seven" by The Clash. It's not The Clash's best song, nor is it particularly great for bumper music. Still, it's The Clash, and probably the exact antitheses to Jorch's personality.

I've loved The Clash since I was eleven or twelve, and they're probably my favorite band if I thought about it enough. So, really, it just annoys me to no end that Jorch possibly listens to The Clash when I love them so much.
