New phone suggestions?

My carrier is AT&T and I am eligible for an upgrade. Although I have not bothered to do so for some time, for certain reasons I be thinkin' about it now.

In the past, I owned a couple of PDAs and found that I did not use most of their functions; of course, that was multipile generations of technology ago, before touchscreens and the myriad goodies such beasties offer today.

Second, fun though I'm sure the iPhone is, I hate Apple with a burning passion, because Il Douche' (Steve Jobs) seems to think that even after you've purchased an item made by them and it is now your property, he still has the right to tell you in which specific ways you may and may not use it. May his armpits be infested by the fleas of a thousand camels. So, while I am not closing the door on the idea completely--like if a bunch o' you gloids testified as to the iphone's ebullience--I'm wondering if there by a similar device by HTC or whomever equal in prettiness and functionality. I am aware that the new iPhone is app central.

So, if you have any experiences with different models--those that ATT supports--that you think might help me make a decision, I'd be grateful to you for sharing them.

I bailed from ATT this year when my contract was up to go to T-Mobile so I could get the mytouch 3G (it's HTC) it runs on google android, I think it is awesome.  I too hate Apple with a passion and I was sick of blackberry.  Plus data plans are way cheaper at Tmo.

blackberry runs on an operating system that feels like it was developed in the 1920s.  the iPhone would be great if not for the problems mentioned above by the mordred.  other than the iPhone, i'm not familiar enough with what att offers to make a suggestion there.  if i were you, mordred, i'd be moving to verizon and snatching up the new droid.  not the one from htc... but the one with the keyboard from motorola.

god, what's the world come to?  i'm recommending a motorola phone.  holy shite.

and now comes the wave of android tablet devices.  this appears to be the first credible device i've seen.  i want, i want, i want.
