I just realized my recording of last night's show never stopped, and I ended up with 17 hours and 54 minutes of LNM last night and into today.

Paul heroically saved a young woman from a car accident, and in the process was bitten by a recluse. I'm assuming he means a spider, and not a person who won't leave their house.

What do you think of the rumors about Hoagland joining up with LNM?

The 2000-ish remaster of All Things Must Pass was really more of a remix. I prefer the original. The kick drum on "The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp" is wayyy too fuckin loud in the remaster, ruins the whole vibe.

Do Heather's shows really include all the ads, and are 192k, and weigh 300ish MB?

Are people just not calling into MITD, or what? Last night's show was great, but I was hoping to hear some calls.

I don't think Dave NEEDS calls coming in to make compelling radio, as he's proved time and time again, but it does seem like it's the one missing piece of the puzzle.

One of the wildest things about the rabid Heather fanatics, or even Vara and Drs. Ira and Neely, is how often they seem to remark that Keith is operating out of jealousy. That Keith can't stand how popular Heather's show is, and how unpopular Dave's show is, so he's taking out his impotent rage on MITD2. Or Vara's smug little promos that imply that Keith is jealous of LNM because they have Heather.

That shit just flies in the face of all logic and verifiable facts.

There's Steve from California, who's obsessed with Heather and clearly wants to be a guest on the show. He always talks about a mirror box he's created for her. For a while he was claiming to have gotten lost in another dimension playing the Korean elevator game.

I'm about 90 minutes into last night's MITD-- great guest, and Dave has asked some great questions. It's still such a shock to me how engaging this show became again when Dave stepped in.

I noticed the other night that Heather said the archive files are going to be 192k stereo mp3s. That is such overkill for a talk show. Each show is going to be in the neighborhood of 350 MB, that's going to be painful for bandwidth bills.  Not to mention the fact that if a fan wants to download all of the shows, they should probably go ahead and get at least a 1 TB hard drive.

I'm about halfway through last night's MITD2 and I had forgotten how much of Heather's show is filled with moments of utter inanity, and how often I had to sort of cringe my way through those moments to get to what I saw as the good parts.

I used to really root for Heather, so it was easier for me to overlook those moments of cringe. In light of her behavior and the total shitshow over the past 6 weeks, and ESPECIALLY in light of a couple of solid weeks of MITD with a professional host behind the mic, it's so much harder to listen to her flounder.

I thought I was going to try to listen to both MITDs, but I don't know if I have it in me.

That's not what he said.

He said that if Heather decided to quit, he would stop everyone's autopays and extend access to the MITD archives for 2 months so people could grab the shows. The implication being that he was going to pull the plug on DMDN entirely.

Heather ended up being fired instead, and Keith immediately announced that he was lining up a new host and that MITD would continue. So obviously he didn't go ahead and stop everyone's autopays and extend access to the archives, since the archives are continuing to grow again with Schrader at the helm.

I have to admit, I'm confused and fascinated by the inner workings of LNM and its publishing arm, Neely Worldwide Publishing.

These things reek of money laundering or MLM scams to me. There's a small group of people with radio shows on LNM. The same group of people have books published by NWP.  There's next to zero information about either business online that isn't directly from the sites or social media accounts of those involved. All parties seem to have multiple websites for themselves for no apparent reason.

Any time I've listened to LNM, I have only heard the same handful of ads over and over again. All of them are for LNM or LNM shows with the exception of the TalkStreamLive ad.

How is this making money? I really want to know.

Well she doesn't have to be a talk radio host. She managed to survive her first 40ish years doing other jobs. But I think she'll be on tonight.

She should be able to easily secure somewhere between 500-1000 subscribers and eke out a living, which will be a drastic pay cut from $100k-ish (if that's really what Art was paying her HOLY SHIT) but still doable. Maybe she can grow that subscription base over time, though it seems unlikely from within the self-obsessed echo chamber black hole of LNM Radio Network.

I'm optimistic that Heather's show will take off for real tonight. If it doesn't, I can only conclude that her heart really isn't in it and that she's just been spinning her wheels and jerking people around for the last 6 weeks.

Unfortunately I don't have that one. Vara took his archives down recently, and moved them, and now his 2016 archive is very limited and missing most everything from the beginning of the year.

The problem with LNM Radio Network is that absolutely nobody seems to give a shit about their shows except the people who host on the network, so I can't find some of the stuff I remember because nobody bothered to pirate it.

That context includes Vara's shitty Art Bell impression (which is better than his shitty Airyn Bell impression), Vara playing a completely pointless voicemail from Art, and Vara's classic paranoiac claims about Art, RCH, and Keith trying to steal Late Night in the Midlands from him to SILENCE him.
