I haven't listened in months....has HW improved? I'd like to listen to Stanton. Last time I tried to listen, I immediately had to quit...still didn't like her voice and style. Thoughts?

Appreciate that. And I think you're right, including that so much of the support is because people feel they know her personally, or maybe do. But the show doesn't have 20 years to get her ready, right? It's essentially going to go on life support when Art disappears. In some ways, it's wrong that Art chose someone who wasn't ready. It sets her and the show up for failure, and it keeps someone with more talent from stepping into the role. I'm all for the gifted amateur. I wish she was more of that than just amateur. We're being told that if Midnight in the Desert goes down, the whole network folds, or at least I've read that in a few places. If that's true, then a lot is at stake to just give an amateur her dreamshot.

The only reason for that is because the original opinion got derailed with all the personal attacks.
A smart person, though, will listen to the criticism, think about it, and if possible, act to improve on their weaknesses. People throwing about support for someone who is not ready are not doing her a favor. All the fawning and platitudes just mask the real problems. If Heather is a bright person -- and I suspect she is -- she will pay more attention to the people telling her what she is doing wrong than the ones who are just saying she's great or whatever when she isn't there yet. Unless there are enough of the latter to keep the show on the air, I suppose. I doubt it.
Quote from: Whacky Bob L on December 12, 2015, 10:42:47 AMI'm just reading through this to get the idea that others feel as I do. Months later and I still feel the same.
To be honest shes not good. I mean that with respect (if thats possible). She has no experience, no proper cadence, monotone (at times) voice also-- why hasn´t Bell looked into getting a replacement from a podcaster/broadcaster with experience FROM the network? Byan Alvarez is a good one, probably one of the better hosts on the DMRN... why just give a random a shot at a paid sub site? She has no experience. Even Knapp or somebody else would have been a legit replacement ? Who´s going to pay for her? sorry not to be harsh but its true. It´s like Art DGAF about the network or paranormal anymore..

You can hear Heather Wade on GabCast podcasts at ufoship.com. Her name is (Redacted) here on bellgab, and when MV lists the shows, and lists who was on them, you will see her listed as (Redacted).
Here is an old classic with bellgabbers EddieDean, Onan, and (Redacted). There are many with her in them on ufoship.com.

Heather, some night, could you explain why you don't give bellgab.com a LOT of ShoutOuts on MITD with Heather Wade? Sometimes I feel like you don't like us very much anymore. You used to love it here, be one of us, blend right in with the scenery, sometimes even packed the best punches in the good ol Noory department, right here at bellgab.com. You were given space where your voice could be heard on the air by MV on the GabCast.
(Redacted), now Heather Wade... One of our finest sludge slingers has no time to spread the praises of bellgab.com, where you became known, and without which you would have never been heard on the GabCast....and well, I'll leave the rest up to you to talk about on your new show MITD with Heather Wade.
Praise MV!

I don't know how he did it but yes it always felt like the night was bubbling with possibilities, that next call always holding the promise of something unexpected.

But, sir, they have goat soap.

Sure. What would provoke anyone to make such a decision? Someone who obviously does not understand their audience. Most people need a reason to stay up so late, something to keep them awake, good programming, an engaging host. It's an imposition on people to expect them to stay up even later for a mediocre presentation.

on top of that..seems he is now deleting peoples posts who do not agree lol and continues on the course of people just do not like a woman on the radio..heaven forbid its people just do not think she has no talent

I can't tell if it's particularly pronounced tonight, or if talking about it has made me focus on it and now it seems more frequent than usual.

Hi!
RIGHT?
Heather keeps saying "right" after her sentences, so I figured I would try it, see how it works for me.

I like this lady. I wonder if Art unfriended her too?

He's just playing the sex card. I'm not surprised anymore, after the Sirius DM and MITD debacles. Sad. In retrospect, Art should have just walked away after Coast. At least we have Noory to laugh at. The whole situation with Art and Heather is just sad and disillusioning.

I guess that helps to explain why his FB page is so filled with "support".

I listened to about 30 minutes of tonight's MITD with Heather Wade. I have been an enthusiastic supporter and fan of Art Bell since the mid-90's. I followed all of his resurgences and subsequent, always strange, disappearances. After the whole Sirius fiasco I patiently waited two years for his non-compete to end, and when MITD was launched I was an early adopter. I subscribed early and have been paying the low low introductory offer of $5 ever since. When Art had his stalker problem and decided once again to pull his disappearing act I couldn't really believe it. I kept hoping against hope that he would come back. I kept downloading the podcasts every day after Art handed over the show to Heather Wade because I know the download numbers matter and MITD was still so new when Art abandoned the show that I wanted to continue to support the effort in the hope that he would come back.
I, however, didn't listen to any of Heather's shows. I was feeling somewhat betrayed and sad that Art had again pulled a Houdini that I didn't want my negative feelings to color my impressions of her show. In other words, I really wanted to give her a chance to find her footing. I wanted to reserve judgement. I listened to my first Heather Wade show and, sadly, I am canceling my subscription to MITD. I don't dislike her or anything, but she is just simply not what I signed up for. Tonight in just the first 30 minutes she praised Donald Trump twice and belittled Bernie Sanders once. But, really, that's just the surface annoyance. I haven't gone back to check but I can only assume that Heather, like the loathsome George Noory, is a climate change denialist as well as a Trump supporter. This is definitely not what I hoped MITD would be.
Sorry, but bye.
Quote from: Schlyder7 on April 13, 2016, 10:28:59 PMShe says that she has so many questions EVERY night -- but she doesn't. I'm so tired of this -- just sticking around until I download all the AB's that I want. She wants to keep the guest to herself -- BUT she'll go to the phone -- it's NOT about you, Heather!
LOL " a tight rope stretched over a slippery slope" that has to go top right corner LOL
and didn't Marrs tell her there's not much to talk about the grave.. yet she is going to ask him about it again.. and then she says she has so many questions she can't get to them all. LOL Jesus tapdancing Christ she is dense. I think she will open up calls right away as she hasn't got any relevant questions.

Doubling down and going 5 hours is an interesting decision. They clearly have nothing to lose from it. The die-hard facebook crowd will eat it up, but I doubt it will do anything to accrue new subscribers.
The logical answer would be to extend the program to Saturdays and have Art handle that night every week. He could spend all week with family, do one show, then sleep in and enjoy his Sunday with family once more. Plus, there's a big demand for live radio content on the weekend that isn't about gardening or fishing.
I think most people who unsubscribed (myself included), would re-up just for that, and at the current price it would still be a good value for the week's worth of content (even the trainwreck John Titor type episodes).
The people need to be thrown a bone if you want them to support your endeavor. It's not rocket science.
