Art cancelled a Greer appearance?  I don't recall hearing about that -- when?

He played the Greer clip and then spoke about having no guest at the last minute and moving into open lines. I guess I connected the two. I must have been remote listening.  :-\

Can someone please explain to me why Art is so upset with Stephen Greer and cancelled his appearance recently. I have to be missing something; I just don't get it.

This poor, nervous baby.

Why does Art keep saying, "He sounds like a bright guy?" No! How? Where? This, for some reason, is the one thing that sticks in my throat like dry, white bread.

Next up:  Michio Kaku will debate a man yelling at a light post in front of an abandoned Burger King.

OMG! I cannot stop laughing.

I love how Dr. Grindlay talks to this dude like he's a petulant child. "Oh so that's what you believe, John. Is that you what you REALLY believe?"

I think the rational scientist should lose his cool and blast the flat earth guy. I'm waiting for it.

He's gone in 3..2..1...

I'm all for good, awkward radio, but does anyone else feel bad for Dr. Grindlay being dragged into this moron fest?

Excuse me while I clear my throat.

How arrogant and delusional does one have to be to say, "Hi Art! It's me! Do you remember me?!?"

I mean no disrespect, but ... so your thinking is tainted with the idea that Art's going to get pissed at Keith or something and leave again. Okay, that's fair, but Art doesn't owe me anything. He's just a broadcaster that I like to listen to. If he goes away, well, I wish him luck in private life. If he's around and broadcasting at 80, great. Whatever happens is fine with me. I'm just happy to listen because most other broadcasts suck these days in comparison to MITD. You tell me, what else are we going to listen to?

THIS.

Yeah, but it wasn't any different in 1995 as far as the shows go. Some nights were GREAT other nights weren't but it was always listenable because of Art's delivery. Sure, Art has competition now, but the only real competition on broadcast radio is Dave, pfffft. On the net, most of the good ones are DMDN broadcasters and are not competition but are complementary. I mean, what's left? Jimmy Church? Pfft. Art still has his delivery, and it's keeping me interested just like it did in 1995.

I maintain that Art's delivering in spades. He sounds like the 1995 Art again, yet the show is fresh with the news segments and not all shows will be knock outs, but he's already done some knock outs such as with Hancock last week. So I'm good. Don't worry.

Art is enthusiastic and engaged - like a child who never lost his wide-eyed, innocent perspective of this world. He knows he has to bring it, but is  also fortified by and encouraged that people are following him to his new medium. I'm sure in his head it was a crap shoot. He is an amazing broadcaster. The old cliche of "theater of the mind" is so applicable here, and he is my puppet master.

That being said, there are going to be duds. This guest was too difficult to wrangle. It always amazes me when people complain.

This is Top Secret, but when the Samoan Studio is complete, there will be a special "on the lawn" screening of that 1972 gem, The Brady Bunch episode :  Hawaii Bound.

Surviving cast members will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Haha! Perfect

I so want to fit in here, but is there anyone here who isn't a crusty old man lamenting the glory days?! Things aren't that bad. Embrace the next generation no matter how horrid we are. Not all hip hop is bad; some of it is poetry and quite beautiful. If you don't understand modern humor, maybe it's because the world has surpassed you and your mind is shut., Etc. etc. etc.

Art makes us wonder and dream and clear the channels that for so long have been blocked. Is there anyone here who is living in the now and not in the past? Is there anyone here who isn't fg stuck in a paradigm?!

This board should be open to people under 50, not just those who despise everything that came after them. Art very much needs an open channel to the next gens. We will embrace him just as you have.

Sidney Freedman was in only 12 of the 256 episodes of MASH, but still hugs my heart like a sloth with an apricot. 12 episodes, but made the most tremendous impact.

For the love of God, please stop quoting the picture of that fg foot. And for the person who originally posted it: What the hell, man?! What in the entire hell?!

Such an undeserved bad rep around here. I liken this place to a nice get together at a restaurant. Like this fine eatery called Twin Peaks in Waco, TX.

Ha!

A whole bunch of fireflies, so bright that I could see them through the windows (I did wash and scrape them recently though.) I think all the rains recently. Fun to see, reminded me as a kid catching and chasing them. Simple things but I haven't seen so many in quite some time. Maybe the lack of rain, until recently? Didn't have a Mason jar to catch them and they were primarily in the more wooded, hilly portion above the creek but sat and watched from deck. A nice show. Like shooting stars close at hand. I wonder, sorta, of if any "orbs" were basically lightning bugs seen by people, "after a few?"

Nice one. Comforting.

Of course that's what you'd claim, it wasn't an "intentional running gag". So you expect us to believe that you'd spend all that money on iCrap products and not replace your broken glasses for over two years???

For you to come clean on the glasses gag now, would be like Art saying he always knew Major Ed or EVPs were frauds.

What I'd like to know, was it your plan all along to set Dave up to buy you new glasses? Of course you won't answer that question.

Oh BTW, anyone can watch your videos and see for themselves how you switch the glasses around.

I really don't think you can give him that much credit. The man is a soup sandwich.

The number one rule of well-dressed people everywhere: Always proofread your clothing.  Imagine showing up at a job interview, a wedding or other formal event with spelling errors on your clothing.

Oh lord, that was good.

I gave up on hating.  It never got me anything and takes a lot of energy. Sitting around indifferent is near bliss.

Indifference is the true hate.
