9-11 also killed radio, even ART BELL's shows.. hell we had ALIEN contact via crop circles the AUGUST prior to 9-11! that was a HUGE f'n story... Hoagland was on, Howe, even SHostack was trying to debunk it. THe GRAYS made contact and then some other aliens made contact... and then BOOM!. the towers fell. and for 3 years nothing but TERRORISM. and it worked.
They blew up a city to squash ALIEN CONTACT. just like RCH said.  (and or predicted sveral years prior... 1997 1998...)
And they wiped the "bank receipts" clean.... 2 birds with 2 planes???

;D ;D ;D You heard it here first, folks!

Does anyone know how long the non-compete is for?  It can't be too long.  Even that singer formally known as prince, became prince once again after his NC with Sony expired.

Two years.

If you're such a good guy George why don't you pick up the phone tomorrow (or get your bosses to do it) and call Sirius and ask them to release Art from his Non-Compete and allow him to lead into your show?

I don't think you'd do it because you are afraid of the sound of thousands of radios and apps turning off when you step up to the Mic.

Yeah! Go on George. We are waiting.

Before you upload the new torrent i'd like to suggest that maybe you can post them all by year for smaller down loads.  Untill Art quit dark matter i had all his shows in folders marked september and october  guess i wont need a november but anyway. just a thought.

Torrent clients allow you to select what files in a torrent should/shouldn't be download, so just do that.

Who is Jess?  A head honcho at Sirius or just some flunky typing the current party line from his Sirius FAQ sheet?

Exactly. No need for anyone to get worried because some random social media intern isn't up to date.

Probably not meant to directly link you, but go to google and type 'the definitive art bell collection' and you will get a result from a well known torrent site. It's 21GB worth of Art shows. An updated version to fix labelling errors and add many more shows is being worked on http://bellgab.com/index.php?topic=5021.0

This might be a bit of a long post, but probably something worth considering about audio quality.

I've noticed that the regular uploader on TPB 'artbell2013' didn't upload the latest show, and another guy has uploaded the latest one (10/24). There is quite a difference in file size. 120MB for this one instead of the usual ~38MB from the regular uploader. I had a look at the difference in bitrate too. 64kb/s looks to be the bitrate the show is broadcast in? and 3 and a half odd hours of 64kb/s totals about 120MB. Meanwhile, the 38MB show from artbell2013 has a bitrate of 24kb/s, previously before the uploader decided to reduce the file size the bitrate was 48kb/s and a total file size of about 75MB.

So that made me wonder. Does anyone really care about the bitrate? Should we preserve it at the highest bitrate available, 64kbs? Or is 120MB per show just too large?

In any case I transcoded the latest show from 64kb/s 120MB to 24kb/s 38MB (download here https://mega.co.nz/#!8l1TgYJT!Nd3YQTuYLhxI1iWN0EqWrWTlmSp9I2WQdKmZ5YOLzZY) if you compare this to the original file (currently page 2 of the archive at the bottom) at 64kb/s, I feel there is a decent and noticeable difference in audio quality.

You're the best Widespread!

I've got some special stuff that I'll be announcing soon related to all of the file's i've got now.

Here's a riddle for ya'll..
What contains 1000+ single show files (named, tagged and sorted), around 3000 hours of content, gigabytes of bonus material, and spans 1992-2010?

:o *drools*

I haven't yet got to the calls, but this is definitely my favourite show yet. Second favourite being the SETI guy and third Kaku. I am a relatively new listener and do enjoy the spooky stories that some guests tell, but IMO the best shows come from people who are telling facts and not lying through their teeth (Ghost Buster Gals).

Somebody has taken away my ability to do anything other than upload files to the repo. As of now I am unable to edit names or anything.
was this on purpose?

Looks like the software was updated (Ajax explorer -> pydio) and it broke permissions.

I was thinking that I would add it my current collection and offer that up as a more complete torrent but if people would prefer a torrent of the only shows that I am ripping
I can do that too.

My 2 cents: I think we should be creating big torrents that can be updated as needed. If smaller torrents with a bunch of shows are uploaded and then you get other, incomplete large torrents, then it can be really difficult for people who just want to get their hands on all the available shows.
