Probably the big reason why this thread is all over the place now is because it's been going at a furious pace for, I don't know, how long now? We're tired. We're looking around at everyone and going "Hey! So, how are you doing?"

Plus, I think this thread compelled a lot of long-time lurkers to finally start posting. BellGab can be an insanely intimidating place.

Edited to add: Hey, thanks! I'm glad everyone found my crocheting so entertaining.

Excellent work!  Those tentacles look like they would be hard to do.

Actually, they were the easy part. Unfortunately, the tentacles took me about two or three weeks alone since I had to make so many.

why are blankets always so scratchy when people knit them ?

A lot of it depends on the yarn that they use. For instance, Peruvian Highland wool is my favorite for a reason -- it's just the right softness and weight. However, it's kind of expensive. You need a lot of yarn for a blanket. Therefore, you usually stick to the cheap acrylic stuff.

We've gone from full scale revolution to tips on crocheting.

Time to stick a fork in this thread? ;)

We have to slowly transition back to real life.

That really bites that you had to go through that as a teenager. I can draw cartoon cats, and kinda people as well... oh, and cartoon moose. But crochet and knitting... can you do that without looking? Like if you were watching tv?

Yup. I always crochet/knit when I'm watching television. After a while, your hands just know what to do.

Do you have any examples of your knitting/crocheting online?

Pain-in-the-ass monster, two pounds of tentacles monster, and a knapsack.

The first two were comissions and are crocheted. The third is knitted, and I did it for fun.

Bahahaha, that's good. I don't know how to knit and I don't do any crafting, except a tiny bit of sewing. I've always wanted to learn how to knit, but since I don't interact with family much and can't keep friends, I never had insentive to... =3~
I've been listening to them while I do my medical billing (job). it wouldn't surprise me if medicaid recieved a bill for french tarts ala creme....oops.

I taught myself how to knit and crochet when I was going through chemo because I needed something productive to do. That was when I was a teenager, fifteen years ago now.

Now, I make everyone's Christmas presents every year. I'm toying with the idea of starting a small business since people are always asking me to knit or crochet them things.

So, if I could teach myself how to do this things while I was throwing up every five minutes, I say that there's hope for everyone. It's pretty easy, overall, once you get the rhythm down -- that's the hardest part. The fancy stitches aren't so bad when you know the basics.

Also, cross-stitch. It's insanely easy, and it looks so cool. Everyone should have a craft!

Okay, whew. Everyone is stopping now. I posted twice, but stop becauseI felt guilty and nervous about bothering anyone, even Sirius. ^^;  Actually, when my account expires, I'm going to miss the Oprah radio and Martha Stewart online radio.

Do you do a lot of crafting?

Falkie, I have absolutely no idea what the hell that story was about, but I did enjoy reading a bit about Pittsburgh history. I knew nothing about the Pittsburgh Playhouse at 222 Craft Ave., but it's is now a place that I kind of want to check out.

Its been a while but I thought Oberon destroyed his tarots.

I have a feeling this guy would use Tarot to communicate, I guess I will have to read up on Wizard Zell's work.
Also is there an abbreviation for wizard similar to how we use Mr./Mrs./Esq.?

He probably did; it's been a good ten years since I read the Amber books. Please don't tell my dad.

So this guy sounds like he took Zelazny's Amber Chronicles really seriously.
The unicorn was the symbol of the royal family, and Oberon was the king of the family lost in other planes of shadow earth.
Can he also walk through shadow?

Does he save thousands a year on long-distance charges by calling his friends and loved ones with a deck of Tarot cards?

(The Amber series was pretty much my entire adolescence. My dad made sure of that. OH GOD THE CORWINS NO!)

Apparently Tom Hanks is going to be playing Noory in the 2016 Summer release, "The Light Worker" --- a biopic on George Noory's life up till the present day. I think Tom Hanks is a good fit, myself. He has just the right amount of lovable innocence coupled with masculine righteousness.

This must be propaganda on Dave's part. Nobody in their right mind could ever say "Tom Hanks sucks!" -- he's such an incredibly nice guy.

You know. Unlike Dave.

If all turns out that siriusxm pushes Art away from doing a show at all, I say gather Arts Knights and minions, its time to put the corporate bullies in their place!

Art has asked his fans to stop, but it is a temporary stop IMO. The man is near 70 years old, and I for one will not sit idly by, and watch a bunch of overpaid suits dictate what I can listen to. I sure hope sirius realizes what kind of sleeping giant they are poking by messing with Art Bells fans.

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I think the other posters were absolutely right when they said that it's all in the hands of lawyers now. Anything further is just going to look like wanton bullying. We're Art Bell fans, and we're better than that.

Truthfully, I've had a lot of fun with the #FreeArtBell stuff. I've been going through some major writers' block, and I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to produce little fits of creativity. Not only that, but I was able to interact with forum members; I'm usually much too shy for very much communication.

Anyway, nothing's stopping us from having good conversations. That's probably where we should stay for a while.

Ok so I deleted the video.

I am not going to go over board any more on this stuff. If art works it out, then great. If free art didn't work then at least we tried.

At this point, after all this drama, I don't know what will happen next but I wish Art the best. I'm taking a break from things for awhile (I'll still be on the board but won't be posting as much)

If it's for the best, then it's for the best.

However, I'd just like to say that you're a nice guy with a lot of talent. Please keep posting.

Hey, I just woke up and got the coffee going. So, I'm going to ask something because I'm in total disbelief: Why the hell did you guys go to /b/? /b/ hates everything that isn't boxxy. Asking /b/ for help is like using plutonium to get rid of weeds in your garden.

That being said, you might have had some luck on /x/, which is the paranormal board. Lots of Art Bell fans there.

3 )  I could use some help with the mirror image stuff on my Imac unless I have to wait until I get OSX.7 on here.

I had this happen to me before, so let me see if I can remember what I did to fix it without actually having to open iPhoto or whatever.

Uh. I think I went into Settings or Properties (or whatever). There was a little box next to "Reverse image" or something. Click the little box -- I know I had to click a little box. It's been a few years, so maybe the little box has been lost in some update.

Good luck.

Not true.  George is behaving EXACTLY identically the way he did during the hundreds of posts he made on FF.  Some of them are nearly word-for-word.   I read every single one of the posts he made there, and I have a good memory.  George was a liar then, he's a liar now, and he will always be a liar.

Thank you so much for telling the whole story. I've been wondering about this for such a long time.

For those interested, here is the post from George Noory to Fantastic Forum threatening a law suite:

Email Notice from George Noory to the Fantastic Forum
From George Noory <george@coasttocoastam.com>

subject: FF

Once again, your forum is being used for hate and inaccuracy. The Sci-Fi show IS NOT a paid for informercial, but has been produced for Sci-Fi and will run at their expense.

Additionally, I have informed my attorney to immediately begin plans to sue various members for libel and to obtain from you either voluntarily or in court appropriate IP addresses, etc.

I take my career seriously and have NO problems with honest criticism and critique, but it's gotten out of hand.

I am asking you, as the administrator for the LAST TIME to clean this up, and will hold you personally responsible for such libelous attempts by your members to libel me and the show.

Jorch: So, can you make a prediction?
Me: Yes. Tonight's show is going to suck.
Jorch: When I was a kid, I used to suck. I sucked so bad! Everyone cares about my childhood stories that go nowhere. CARNIVORA!
