Not the intro to Crazy On You if that's the one you were thinking about.
It's a little more classical or maybe even latin sounding than that.

There's an acoustic piece that Art always plays that I've been looking for for awhile.
I thought it was "Ready For Times To Get Better" by Crystal Gayle but it turns out it's not. They just sounded slightly similar... The song never goes far enough into it before the announcer kicks in and then Art starts talking to tell if their is any vocals or not. Just an acoustic guitar intro that I know of. He plays it quite often. Any ideas? Thanks.

I also use to think that some of the posters in here were mean and too harsh on Noory. While they may still be mean people, I have come to agree with even some of their most vitriolic posts. Afterall, he has broken something dear to us.
I do understand what this show once was and what it has become. It bothers me too, even though I've only been a hardcore listener for a couple years, but the constant Noory mud-slinging fest does get tiring to read after awhile. That being said, I'm sure if I had been around when Coast was in its heyday, I'd be doing alot more ranting myself.

I'm thankful to be able to listen to the archives; It only makes me wish it was all this accessible when it was live.  I loved the mystery behind the show when it was Art's, even though I'm well aware 99% of it is bogus. That doesn't stop it from being fun and interesting, and ENGAGING. No-magic-Noory has just driven the show into (and to American posters, I apologize for using this term) dumb and dull American drivel entertainment. It's so watered down now I feel light headed just listening to it. Even things right down to the way the website is layed out... it all seems so uncreative and destroys the great atmosphere that this show once created. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to have a shred of hope that perhaps Fort Rock wasn't just a bubbling moron completely full of shit when he made his first 2 or 3 posts.

Now that I'm done putting my foot in my own mouth, the main reason I came here is to read and discuss old Art shows and dig a little deeper into things. Like I said, I love the fact these shows are archived and so readily available to listen too. Even the fact the bumper music is in all the shows is awesome. It makes it feel a little less "lonely" than the downloads that the official [awful] Coast site offers. Call me a geek, but I the fact the shows are played over shoutcast too. It gives it more of a "live" feeling. I would like to see the archive keep growing and growing. I do wish the old Coast archive site (CoastGMS?) was still around though.

Crackpots like "Fort Rock" on a Coast to Coast forum.
Who would've thought?

This all seems awfully familiar.
The spill of information, the cover-ups, then people making him out to be insane...

Obviously Fort Rock is this generations Bob Lazar.

Well then it would appear my question is answered.
...Guess that doesn't say much about Fort Rock's posts about Art Bell.

2. I had a Trojan Horse or some other virus planted into my computer after I recieved a private message from this site (Michael V. I will not give their name{s}). This had the effect of re-directing me to the George Noory Facebook Fan Site every time I tried to enter this Coast Gab site!

Is this just your sense of humor, or do you truly believe that?

I must apologize, sometimes it really is hard to tell through written communication... I'm just slightly confused as to wether or not you are actually being serious here.

I think it's supposed to be one of those extra-dimensional beings that travel through portals and can only be seen by night vision goggles. The apparently ripped a bunch of cables out of the ground that would've required super human strength and destroyed some camera equipment, and did a bunch of experiments on cattle. I think it took place on that alien ranch in Ohio, though I could have the location wrong and the episodes mixed up.

I really hope there is truth to all that.
A more than welcome change, though I don't understand the reasons behind removing Ian, (be it on-air talent) I guess it makes sense if he is under contract with Clear Channel. Whitley Streiber and his wife are not exactly people I'm excited about hearing on the radio every Saturday, but if that's what comes with the return of Art, I'm not about to complain too much. The idea that it may going back to it's own production company is also really exciting.

I don't listen to Coast to Coast live much anymore, as opposed to years ago when I would all the time. For some reason I remember George being alot better a few years back, though this could be just because I hadn't found the Art Bell archives yet, I'm not sure.

I don't want to spend time posting "Noory sucks" and ripping into him because there seems to be enough of that here. Honestly, (it may be not wise to be saying only a couple posts in here,) but it does get a little boring to read after awhile.

That being said, my gripes with the new Coast is it seems that the sound of mystery behind the show is gone. I'm not sure exactly what it is as I can't put my finger on it, but the spark is definitely missing. Could be something as simple as Art's voice (which has a great mysterious sound to it as say, Robert Stack) or Art's presentation, or the way you knew it was broadcasted from out in the desert. I'm not sure, but whatever it may have been, it's missing now.

So do we actually know if they've been using this service on Coast to Coast or is this just an assumption?

This is going to be a hard one.

I don't know much about the episode, or what the subject was.
All I remember is a caller (it was a long call) and there was a bunch of dogs barking and yelping in the background and Art was fairly concerned about the animals and kept asking why they were freaking out, and the guy refused to answer. I don't remember much else as I heard it when I was very young, I just remember being slightly creeped out.

ANY ideas at all?

Thank you

Hello all,

My name is Jacob. I'm a young dude and I'm currently working as a radio DJ, aspiring to be a professional musician aswell.

I've been browsing these forums every now and then over the past little while, so I finally decided to join up.
I'm not a Noory hater per say (in response to the last couple posts above), though I am partial to Art, and I like Ian too.
I would hear Coast to Coast every now and then when I was a kid in the 90's,  (or the “creepy radio show” as I knew it at the time, and thought it was actually coming out of Vancouver… Aliens, Ghosts, and Bigfoots so close to home can be slightly terrifying when you're so young) though I never actually knew what it was or much about the show up until a few years ago when I was about 20 and started listening pretty regularly, so I was pretty much only listening to Noory and Ian live up until about a year ago until I discovered ShoutCast/TuneMark on my iPhone... leading me to Art Bell archives, which I now leave on over the regular show. So, needless to say, I'm still fairly new when It comes to Coast knowledge and community. That said, nice to "meet" you all, hopefully you aren't all total weirdoes.... but then again, hopefully you are. ;)

PS. If one had a question about finding a certain episode from way back (didn't want to just jump in and make a new thread), where would you do this?
