She reminds me of the next generation Siri, but the giveaway are the subtle mispronunciations that programs have difficulty mimicking in human speech. She is a program.

I think Art wants to start fresh and going back to Coast he would lose too much control of the show. He needs to get his creative vision back free from the control of Premier. I don't see them letting him do that there.

I hope they don't forget Gordon Lightfoot. Art did a great interview with him once.

I'm loving the music links, reminding me how much I love Art's taste in music and the special connection those songs have to his show.

I do remember that. In that same conversation, Art stated that noory was making a mistake by doing the show from Los Angeles. "Too much politics" was the quote, and if memory serves, Art also indicated it was easier to stand his ground from the desert. Control over show content was another point. Sound about right?
Yes, that was it, and thanks MV for posting the actual audio clip o Art talking about that.
Art Bell Talks About George Noory On His HAM Radio

Maybe it wasn't George that Art blamed for what the show has become. Just guessing, but could it be that George has just given up to what the network has told him to do? That might also be why he doesn't seem that interested when he does the show, just coming in for the paycheck, etc. That would also explain why Art is still talking with Noory. After all, how much power do you really think Noory has as far as what is said on the show, or what the format will be? He doesn't strike me as being the most creative or insightful personality, or one that would win any fight with a network executive. I seem to recall Art talking about that years ago in a Ham radio conversation that someone posted. Anyone remember that?

You are right, it's gotten so bad that Art Bell himself posted this on his Facebook page after the show:
I wish my name was no longer associated with what Coast has become!

Art's response tonight to a Facebook question:
Why dont you start a podcast, Art?

Art Bell: It's not that I want to do a show, it is that Coast has gone so far down the drain that I wish my name was not associated with it. I asked them to stop the Saturday Broadcasts of my old shows but so far they refuse.

This latest Facebook message from Art is VERY interesting. It sounds like it could be his next book, but he's going to release it to the world soon:
"Art Bell
I am just about ready to tell the real story of my so called "Retirements" I have asked Premiere to stop the Saturday Broadcasts and thus far they have not done so as is there legal right. Free speech remains my right, I will soon exercise it."

Art just posted this on Facebook:

Interesting.

Unfortunately this is the only source of new old material from Art. The majority of the shows that are aired as part of the Saturday night SIT shows are shows that do not exist on any of the file sharing sites and are effectively new classic material from Art.

I wonder why Art has decided to request that they cease Broadcasting. Does he not get a cut? If not then I can understand why. There is also a remote chance that it has something to do with a new show (probably not) and he can't have his classic shows running on a rival network.
Yes, I wonder what this means? Why now? What has changed with Art???? Something good coming I hope.

The mess is indeed cleaned up finally. It is strange that something designed to
save you in a emergency can cause one.

As for Coast, the show has changed which from my point of view is a shame but
it is the right of the Host doing the show to take it in the direction they see fit. I
have had many offers to join other Networks to compete if I wished BUT I have
decided that I do not wish to destroy what I built, or what is left of it.

I really am enjoying being Retired, I can be part of my Daughter's life as she grows
and it is a blast. I do miss all of you though. I am not saying I will not pick up a mike
one day, just not this day. I learned long ago, never say never.

                                                                                     Art
Hi Art! We all love you and wish you and your family the best. Of course many of us want you back broadcasting in some form as well. Maybe someone can think out of the box somehow and come up with a way to bring you back where you don't directly compete with your old show, hurting what is left of what you have built. I can understand your feelings about that. Still, I have a feeling broadcasting is in your blood and would love it if something could be done to bring you back even once in a while in some form. As far as I'm concerned, the world is a much more interesting place with you behind the mike  ;D Take care old friend.

Art has just posted about his current situation, and unfortunately it's nothing positive...(four posts made over a 10 minute period combined below):

"There has been a explosion at our house tonight! Nobody hurt (I hope) it was a fire extinguisher, it just blew up (nobody in the room) but the house is beyond a mess. Inhaled a bunch of that stuff, like a white powder, not feeling so hot. Fire dept was here. More when I can. Good lord, we just remodeled. I think I got the most exposure but the girls got some as well. A fire extinguisher is supposed to save you not kill you! It was in my radio room with about 50K of radio gear that may be toast along with my lungs. It had been in the same spot for months, always at about 70 degrees, Fire guys said it was defective, lots of pictures, I will post in time, now VERY tired."

Whatever implications this may have for any radio plans Art may or may not be working on, certainly we should all wish them well--and be glad that none of them were seriously or directly hurt!
I heard it was a recalled model he didn't know about until now, obviously. I hope he will post the model number. Maybe it will help prevent this from happening to someone else.

So if Art is coming back to broadcasting via radio, or satellite, or web, or whatever, does anyone have an educated guess as to the timing of his return? Maybe for his traditional New Year's predictions?

"I think Art is projecting his discernment and indecision on us with his cryptic hints at a possible return to radio.  We, in turn, suffer the ebb and flow of his unquenched yearning to return to the airwaves.  His pain becomes ours.

I believe I am correct about this."

Art has mentioned a few times he's dealing with his bad back again, having trouble getting out of bed in the morning, etc. because of the pain. Maybe that caused the delay in his "Stay Tuned" message?
