I don't realistically think anything or anyone can 'keep us safe'. We live in different times. We used to 'duck and cover' for the event of a nuclear attack. Now even 4 and 5 year old children have lockdown drills in case a maniac enters the school. I can't even scoff it off as a remote possibility, because it really is not. Living in NYC after 9/11 taught the lesson that life goes on and you have to live your life not allowing terrorists or other whackos to rule it, or else they win and then we're really screwed.

No matter who, no matter why, this is horrifying.

Life is actually less horrifying now than it was in the past.  For a long time, life was brutal and short.  It's brutal and short in other parts of the world even now.  I think our expectations were raised unrealistically by TV shows such as "Leave it to Beaver" and the devil-may-care attitude inspired by freely available porn on your cell phone.

LOL! I'm more likely to be killed by a black man.

Checking under my bed every night has gotten to be a real gamble.

Why, yes, it's called Executive Waiver and it is in fact written into most laws.  Educated people, and those who know how to use a fuckin search engine, and who are not simply asking rhetorical questions for the sake of grandstanding, know this.  shithead
Citation? Seriously. My searching is bad. I don't see where the President can waive the privacy aspect of the regulation (see some waivers allowed by the Secretary about costs and things) based on personal feelings or whim.

But at a minimum stop the importation of these crazy Muslims and monitor, if not kicked out, the ones already here as they breed criminals and terrorists.

Approximately 1,000 NYPD officers are Muslim.  Are you going to deport them too?

If the 372 mass shooters were conservative we would know each one of their names. Blacks shoot each other daily in the street and you only hear about it on the local news. Keep believing that all mass shooters are FUCKING WHITE MALES that vote conservative and are NRA members they are your delusions.

Wow! I asked about the political affiliation breakdown; YOU extrapolated something from it. I didn't say what I believed, but it's gratifying you think you know what I was thinking. Thus reinforcing your fool status.

The way we're going, seems to me that most of the "other than minimum wage and/or slave labor jobs" left in this country, are either in the military or the police force.  Sometimes it seems like it's "by design" to me.  I could be wrong.

Allahu Akbar

So mass shootings in general are not terror? Got it.

No, but certainly have IA check-up. When did I say deport all Muslims? I said stop importing. And monitor those here. And after investigation deport or imprison those who are criminals.

I saw the gun blaming coming.  I must have special powers.

Yeah. Cos if a gun wasn't involved you can't blame a gun. Maybe it's just simple stuff?

I'm taking a punt here; but I'm guessing automatic weapons are used because they can discharge a large quantity of high velocity rounds in short order and are reasonably accurate in skilled hands. Naturally firearms are only ever used for display cabinets and shooting a rabbit for the pot.

It's going to take a lot of monitors to monitor those 1,000 NYPD officers.  Do the monitors visit the homes of these NYPD officers to monitor them or do they monitor them at work?  Throw in the tens of thousands of Muslim physicians practicing medicine at some of the nation's best medical centers and you're going to need millions of monitors.

Monitoring US citizens based upon their ethnicity or religion.  Sounds like a great plan, Adolf.  North Korea has monitors too - they call them minders.

Are you sure the monitors aren't corrupt? And being paid off by the people they're supposed to monitor? NO Sir!! You cannot be sure.

Yes, actually in the grand scheme of things globally, you are right. I think the issue is with sudden, random acts of violence which there is no denying, has escalated in the US over the past couple of decades. But then again, random acts of violence were a daily concern for part of our population until relatively recently. I still don't like herding little kids into a corner and reading stories to them, knowing damned well some of them, usually the quiet or crying ones, know exactly what it's about.

Muslims aren't monolithic. Its never mentioned how many of the Muslim numbers quoted in media are American Black Muslims (Nation of Islam) vs. followers of culturally Arabic sects.  NOI have very little in common with ME-rooted Sunnis and Shia, and many Sunni mosques in the US are under Saudi influence via funding.

The UK had over two decades of indescriminate bombings from the PIRA. It sounds glib, but most of us didn't really worry about it. We just carried on and went about our business. What thoroughly pissed off a lot here, was Dubya behaving as if he'd just discovered fire when he spoke of trrrism. He hadn't. He discovered it came in several flavours; and his fellow countrymen and women who helped fund the PIRA, who were the same mould as the Saudi Princes who  funded Al Queda, were never compared. Funny that.

As long as it makes money for the 1%, I'm afraid so.  It doesn't speak well of humanity.  Seeing the reports of the blood donors lining up gives me hope, but I'm afraid that most of them are not in the 1% that controls the ways of the world.

Eisenhower warned us of it before leaving office. The Military Industrial Complex is primarily an industry and we've got to keep those people working! Of course, to do that we'll have to create some wars to justify it. Think about the sheer number of conflicts we've been involved in since WW2. They're not called wars and they don't officially declare war anymore but, somehow, the results are the same.  ;)

he he. The left is already blaming guns, not Islamic radicals. Guess those 450,000 who died in WWII were killed by guns and bombs, not by Japanese and Germans.

Well, not all of them.

"As Mother Jones reported, "Since 1982, there have been at least 70 mass shootings across the country... Forty four of the killers were white males. Only one of them was a woman." So white men have been responsible for about 63 percent of mass shootings in that span, despite comprising a far smaller portion of the total population. "

A gun didn't kill those clubbers. It was a hologram. The soldiers in all the modern wars were killed by mind control and overeating big macs. No weapons. None at all.
