Midnight In The Desert

Started by Falkie2013, December 11, 2015, 11:13:40 PM

Guest done at 1am. Alright what comes after is what I'm curious about.

Ryan in Puget Sound. Mark an X on your MiTD game card.

Anyone in Washington that confirm what the caller is saying? They shut down Salmon and freshwater fishing in the state?

Sounds like the caller is now saying the Salmon decline is from Fukushima.

GravitySucks

I don't see this 5 hour thing is going to work for me, at least not live. I can't stay up until 4am every night and I can't stay up to 3am just to hear the end of the guest. I may have to change my listening habits to just using the archives. That's a shame, because I actually enjoy the bumpers and the live chat.

You because you CAN do something, doesn't necessarily mean you should.

AKWilly is in Aslaska, and he is a salmon fisherman. He is usually around. Seems like he would know.

You're going to have to move back to Downey.

I never lived out there, but when I worked for McDonnell Douglas and then Rockwell I used to have to go to Downey quite a bit.

What place in the west would you move to if you had to? I imagine you would get frustrated with California politics so maybe somewhere like Eastern Oregon or Eastern Washington would be a good place for you.

Sounds like SredniVashtar is on the phone right now.

No, caller, the problem isn't the US has too large an area to search for Bigfoot. The problem is there is no such thing as Bigfoot.

Except for a few trips to Seattle to go to Boeing, I haven't seen much of the northwest. Only went to Aslaska once for a fishing trip.

Washington, Oregon and Idaho are on my bucket list. Oregon and Idaho are the only two states I haven't been to.

I have been up and down the coast in California, and your right. That's not for me.

Not really sure. I am stuck in Texas for at least the next 5 years. I am a Texas Vet, so my daughter is attending Texas A&M using my state veteran benefits. The one condition is that I have to maintain a residence in Texas.

If I moved somewhere, it might be around a ski area in Colorado or around Tahoe. Maybe Wyoming. But I will probably just stay in Texas.

It might be if you are way up north, but here is the data for this week from Houston. Pretty much visible from just before sunrise through just before sunset.

Thanks GS, I guess we'd have to know the date of her sighting.  Was just thinking, maybe because it's closer to the sun it's never too far from it from our perspective, so we only see it around sunrise or sunset?

Exactly. It has to be on the side of the sun for us to see it. I think it's orbit period is about 250 days. When it is in front of or behind the sun we can't see it as a "star". That is why they call it the morning and evening star.

I'm glad I was able to pull that call out of my tailpipe.

I've become more akin in believing that Bigfoot and similar creatures, if they exist, are really shapeshifting humans.

The Aussie caller was fun to listen to, though. Aussie Bigfoot being a mega-kangaroo is an great theory.

All of us have to have at least one screw loose to listen to any of these shows.

I heard a um-hum when I cryptically mentioned Bellgab.

It was a good call. You didn't go into a long lecture like the Aussie Bigfoot hunter and this guy that is talking about verifying the credibility of UFO sightings.

Yep. We aren't her favorite audience. That's a given. I don't mention it when I call because I don't feel the need to cause any tension.

Texas A&M - The one school that may be even more obsessed with a dog than UGA.

The caller said that the UFO investigators look badly on people that describe a UFO report/contact that have many UFO books on their shelves.  I think that's jumping to conclusions since those people are the ones that are actively out looking.

45 minutes in, we are on caller #7.

I was surprised I was able to stay almost focused as I was. Heather did seem to like the idea of encrypting protons with information.

I have pictures of my daughter with Reveille from a veterinarian summer camp she went to between her Junior and Senior year in HS.

You are right.

Sure-I work in that field. Can't say details but the the amount of information a proton can hold is tremendous.

Heck, some shows find it hard to answer seven callers in three hours. And that's with the lines packed.
