So: am I to understand HW's show will be Tuesday through Saturday as this schedule shows? Anyone hear rumors the name may be changing? Just wondering... after all, Art didn't do Tuesday through Saturdays, so maybe this isn't Art's exact "legacy" any longer???  :P

Need a little help understanding how midnight works, do ya?

I think anyone in his shoes would be understandably bitter.
There’s obviously proof Art was a swinger.

Also, how is that terrible, but not that Heathen was sex phone worker? Just curious.

Why is no one posting this over on Facebook?  :P

Man oh man, there's so much back story to catch up on! I thought that was rumor, was that true about HW? Do tell, Bell!  :)

The various UK police forces sell their cast offs too. I was told by an old cop friend that they changed the oil every week. The tyres after 3000 miles and if it's rear wheel drive the diffs take a hammering too. I once saw a 'Ex police car' Volvo T5 V70 for sale, only had 110000 miles BUT had had a new engine at 48000 and no doubt ready for another.  :(

As someone said, the cop cars idle most of their lives away, so mileage is not a good indicator on a cop car. My civilian grade 1998 Volvo T5 V70 just turned 350,000 miles so I decided to go ahead and do the timing belt along with the water pump since it developed a leak. BTW, that turbo will shit and get in the wagon, can't imagine that in a coupe. [attachment=1]  Here's to the T5!

Was the change due to fiscal or quality concerns or due to some EC ruling or something about competition and protectionism in the EC or EU markets? It is interesting since in most "developed" countries the police etc buy domestically even though I don't think it is "official" law and/or even if car, parts, etc might be made, or imported from, elsewhere.

I think the police chiefs basically got tired of their traffic officers bitching about the hardware, the repair bills and the general not fit for purpose. I don't know when the policy changed, but the government of the day took notice and said "Off you go, you know your budget, as long as you stick to it, you can buy what you want." And the cops who used the vehicles then did lots of test driving at the manufacturers expense to find what they wanted.. the Ford Sierra Cosworth was another favourite. 150mph top speed and actually went round corners.

Car I had before I came to the States was a V70, 2.4, normally aspirated. Lovely car to drive, carry a complete house in the back. As comfortable as a unicorn hide. But I changed the oil and filter every 5000 miles. The timing belt had been done at 75000. I gave it away to a friend at 133000 and she's put on another 10k since.

Ah, haven't had time to listen to that yet, will do now. Thanks! (I think...)

Good luck getting past the interviewers. They didn't do it justice.

Thanks everyone who came to hang out tonight! I still can't believe that guy tried to argue with me about whether or not Lizzie Borden's is for sale.

Oil and filter change is a must for the T5, especially the turbo. I think the rest of the car will fall apart before the engine goes.
This car has been rode hard.
So far, I have replaced the pnp switch, front axles, ball joints, wheel bearings, rotors, brakes, alternator, starter, mass air flow sensor, ignition switch and heater core.
Probably have to do shocks to expect another 350k. ... lol.

But you enjoyed it, right?

I mean you said early in the show...

I liked the pacing a helluva lot more than the Karen/KNYE interview.  I couldn't listen for long, I do wish that you would prompt who you were speaking to more frequently because I missed the very beginning of the show.  I don't know if you can get the mighty 1090 where you're at but, check out how they do the interviews. They will frequently say "It's the Mighty 1090 and we've got Philip Rivers on the line.". Yeah, they're trying to tag for branding and credit.  I still don't know who was on...

I think you've got me confused with someone else...I haven't interviewed Karen. And I didn't have any guest tonight, just Open Lines.

LASHA was in damage control calling Vincent bitter and saying it's sad people are trying to destroy arts name and reputation. They deleted the thread over there of course. Didn't jive well with their push to collect money for the art bell memorial bench.

Wonder if the memorial bench will have openings for an “art bell ride”. Kinda like wack a mole, only instead of moles popping up and down replicas of his tool can be ridden for a donation. Donations for upkeep of the bench of course....  ;D

This is making my head spin, though that's not that hard to do these days <g>. Does Lasha really think she's more of a guardian for Art's name and reputation than his own son? Besides which Art lived his life his way, and great as he was in some respects, apparently left a lot of damage behind him as well. This is just nuts, imho.

Yeah, it seems a bit quaint, and a crutch to establish identity. Heather is way too concerned about the wrong things.
