Ace high, Bellgabbers.  Thanks for making this a fun thread tonight.
You too lonevoice. Have a great one BellGab.

Made it 5 minutes in the 19.5 broadcast (that included a piss break). And I'm done...

Happy Halloween and a great weekend to all of you!  8)

Here is a YouTube clip of the earth cracking near Yellowstone that Amy was speaking of during the news segment.

It made for a really cool format.
I agree. I think 90% of us love Barb. She seems nice and tells good stories. I do wish we had another hour though!

I picked up Thomas Ligotti's Shadow at the Bottom of the World collection of stories for Halloween.
Anyone ever read his writing? (First time for me)

AMAZING author, especially if you're a fan of Lovecraft.

Great show, loved the format tonight with Barbara. The three year old that drowned in the pool was the creepiest call of the bunch - there's just something about those child stories and EVP clips. Happy Halloween, Bellarinas.

I got it after all the hoopla from True Detective.  I liked it!

The dead cop was a great story too. One of best ghost shows ever. Hope Art does another one soon!

I think its unanimous that dead air was a big win. Hope he does a few here and there and we don't have to wait till next Halloween.

Agreed! He did that with G2G back in the day...I appreciated when he did that!

An excellent show.  Thanks for all the effort you and Heather put in to this show, Art.  The combination of hair-raising ghost stories and Barbara with EVP's was brilliant.

Really enjoyed the show as well, but would prefer separate programs for ghost stories and EVPs. I liked hearing Barb's comments on the callers' stories, would be great to have her as a co-host on future ghost story nights.  To me the best story of the night was Heather's to open the show, just wish she'd told it live, on-air rather than hear Art read it .

This should have been a 4 hour show.

Or a double header like the old days.

They all should be 4 hour shows.  I keep suggesting it on Facebook and the Wormhole. :D

Enjoyed the show but the "Dead Air" title falls flat for me. The EVP material from GIS is always pretty interesting, but Barbara's muffled phone link was a drag. Hope the show eventually makes enough to express a decent Skype headset or mic to guests, especially if they're frequent. If Art really wants the MITD Halloween show to shine, he do better to vet the stories in advance.  With the under-3-hour format, he can't afford the long-winded and lame ones.  Didn't he used to do that in the old "G-to-G" days?

The skeptical side insists that there's a reason Barbara speaks in a low voice via a muffled connection but I will suppress that in the spirit of the holiday.

"luke, come to the skeptical side."

Haha I would but they're a bunch of humorless fumps over there with nary a single cookie among them.

I saw that and almost added it to my mental meanderings.  Pretty wild to have a "landslide" in the middle of rolling hills.

The Yellowstone Caldera is considered to be extinct. It's possible what you're seeing in this room porn analysis is something akin to a sinkhole forming.  I'm just speculating. Like the guy in the doom porn video.

I'm skeptical about a lot of things, but not women's typical apathy about sound quality.  "Stop fiddling with the sound, dear, it sounds fine to me."

Good point b_dubb, I'll take it. ;)

The dead cop giving a ticket was more suitable for "Truth or Trash" or just an urban legend.  A ticket?  So there's actual hard evidence?   Great.  Let's see it.

There was an article that described the initial analysis. Evidently there is solid caprock under the soil and underground water that flows across the caprock eroding the land from below. They called it a land slide, but a sink hole, in this case, would probably just be semantics.
