Almost as bad. For decades now, in the U.S., restaurant employees, for example, could not sing the Happy Birthday Song to diners celebrating at their establishment as they rolled out the cake -- without the boss having to pay "royalties" or deal with fear of copyright infringement narcs, the Happy Birthday Police, etc!

How could someone claim the rights to a song written/composed in 1893? 42 years later? I'm glad they lost their claim.
