'Shorty' has been arrested and apparently will be extradited to the USA.

No word on his Dreamer status, yet. ;)

I wonder if he still has a hit out on Trump for talking trash about him a few months ago.  That wasn't the smartest thing Trump ever did.

Ol' Chappy has a nice cold concrete box deep underground, with his name on it. Just waiting for its new tenant. He's going to Supermax, isolation 24 hours a day. In a concrete box with no windows. Let's see that little  cockroach talk s*** now.

Yeah, though I'm sure Trump has decent security anyway, maybe even better than the SS considering their drunken antics and mistakes as of late. I side with Trump and not the Obama/ElChapo crowd with regard to the open border, cartels, and illegals but agree it is not wise to get on the bad-side of drug kingpins. It will be interesting to see how quickly, and if, Shorty finally gets extradited to the US and what will happen then. And what, if any, ramifications, it will have for Mexico (often the arrest of a bigshot causes more instability as they race to fill the gap or groups splinter.) Along those lines they just arrested a few heads of the "Bandito" MC gang down here (this after that shoot-out in Waco last year.) Charges not directly related but the usual mayhem, dealing, hits, etc.

In October the Mexican courts ruled chapo would stay in Mexico if re-re-captured.

I thought I recalled that also (but I thought it was the prosecutor making a judgement not a judicial finding) but I swear I heard the tv news talking about going to be extradited? Maybe I misheard in the background but I thought some "experts" both on CNN and Fox talking about it. If he says in Mexico it will be even more interesting. The usual lap of luxury (in comparison to normal folks in prison there,) another escape, or due to him embarrassing the government actual confinement or even an 'accidental' death?
ps: local Mex reports say extradition in the works:

Nice find on the article.

I would be shocked if he was extradited. I think internal Mexican pressure will be to much, so they will be forced to keep him.

We will see what happens. In an interesting coincidence a movie about Shorty's escapes is going to open in Mex next week.

BTW: two financial guys, one for CJNG "El Elvis" and one for Gulf "ELa Guayaba" aka "Nacho", have been arrested and one already extradited this week. A bad beginning of the new year for the narcos so far....

CNN is reporting that El Chapo is going to return to the same prison he escaped from. He can't  escape a third time? For the love of God at least put a ball and chain on him.

Tom Leykis led an hour with this story, and he started with this: "They captured El Chapo today for the third time, and today is the day they start building a third tunnel."

Don't worry they will have tanks patrolling to ensure no escape. Seriously. (I'm sure tanks are good at finding tunnels and certainly all that tunnel construction activity won't be heard due to the rumbling of tank engines and the loud sound of tank tracks on city streets!)

ps: it almost looks like all the photos of the captured Shorty look like they photoshopped his head/face onto a body even. I'm not saying it is true but the pics look a bit weird.

Just shoot the bastard.

Say he was shot trying to escape again.

It is being reported that indeed Chapo is going to be brought to America. I am not sure I want him here either.

What are the odds on Sean Penn living another six months?

Indeed. What with his smoking and party-lifestyle. Oh, yeah, the El Chapo stuff also. Though it is not confirmed that his deal was the outfit that allowed Shorty to be tracked. And Sean could always seek protection in Cuba or Venezuela.

My local news interviewed a shop owner who said "El Chapo" t-shirts were selling out but, as the shop keeper, who appeared to me maybe of Middle Eastern descent, said "they always sell because he is like a hero."

EC is back in the same custom cell he escaped from.

The one with the tunnel under it? They better extradite him soon.

It's OK. They put some plywood over it.

Mexico approves extradition for El Chapo to the USA. But he still has several months to escape because he is appealing the decision. Also, the article does not mention if Obama is granting him DREAMER status or will instruct ICE or DHS to "catch and release" him as they do normal criminal illegal aliens.

Judge who ruled over El Chapo and some Los Zetas appeals shot dead. Obviously an awful act but who in their right mind be out jogging in Mexico when you are a high-profile judge who deal with drug kingpins. And suspicious that he wouldn't, at a minimum, have a security detail out with him.

"El Chapo’s attorneys say they were not notified of the extradition. “It was illegal. They didn’t even notify us,” said lawyer Andres Granados, who accused the government of extraditing his client to distract from nationwide gasoline protests. “It’s totally political.”"

Where is the DNC and the illegals rioting about this actions? Or it is only Trump is not allowed to follow the law or make proclaims about security risks posed by foreign nationals?  :o

""The risk presented by permitting foreign nationals, whether attorneys, investigators, or others who could be members or associates of the Sinaloa Cartel, to join the defense counsel's team without appropriate vetting is significant, thus, this prior approval requirement is necessary," the judge ruled.

Cogan gave the prosecution 14 days to designate a "firewall attorney" that would vet any foreign member of Guzman's team in order to prevent the presence of a "potential spy in the defense camp." "

Wow. Editted, as I could because breaking news.

Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzman’s attorney, Eduardo Balarezo filed with a court a motion to the government’s opposition to compel with respect to potentially exculpatory evidence.

[Exculpatory evidence is evidence that could be in the favor of Guzman.  In this case,  the stand out is that Guzman was not the premier leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, but was working under others.   Balarezo contends that the government has possessed evidence all along, that Guzman was not the head of the cartel, a charge against him in the case. Guzman was charged with overseeing a continuing criminal enterprise. Balarezo said the government sent him a bullet-pointed list of possibly exonerating information about Guzman on June 4, including material detailing his "relative standing" among other drug dealers. The government says they were only required to prove Guzman supervised five or more people.

"Whether he was equally powerful or more powerful does not negate his role," said government attorney Andrea Goldbarg""
