Need help from the forum. My first ever smartphone contract is ending.
Will I have difficulty switching from Android to iPhone?  Young coworkers advise against it.

Guess what? Bobo is back! At least on Yahoo/GMA page read this and see if this sounds like a certain Horse lover we all know.

... Now I have a lot of experience, so when I say something, it counts. That's because I'm very important and I know what I'm talking about ...

This line is great since it's pretty much impervious to any logical attack.  I can be sure of this since I'm important and know what I'm talking about.

I have an iphone 6 and an ipad. I find them more intuitive and the app interfaces more consistent than my Galaxy android tablet.

Had to get third party armored cables because the Apple ones tend to break after about 60 days.

I don't like the fact that they eliminated the earphone jack on the iphone 7. The adapter they provide means you can't use standard earbuds and charge at the same time. But the 7 is supposed to be water resistant to 3'.

There has only been one remote hack exploit identified for the ios os and Apple patched it in a matter of days.

I can never find stuff on an android. But iTunes is a clunky interface between a PC and the idevices. Never really sure what it is going to do when I sync or backup.

You da man, Art!

Young co-workers are almost always idiots who get there information from an echo chamber..

Once you get out from under the suckage of Android you'll be a lot happier.

Tinfoil_Helm

Art saying anything crazy on his Facebook lately?  Is he calling for the deportation of all non-Whites (except his own family)?

Hey, great for you. My issue with apple mobile devices is that it's almost like you don't own the data on your device. I've run into it in the past trying to get my music files off of an iPod Touch after a hard drive failure, I got them eventually, but they were just randomly alphanumerically named .mp3 files.

I'm sure Apple doesn't advocate using third party solutions like this but fuck 'em! Right?  :D

I think the main reason I never bought an iphone is because they don't have an sd card slot.  I know they have a variety of adapters, but I like my 64gb sd card to be in my phone.  I have all my pictures, movies, podcasts with me at all times that way.  Plenty of entertainment for those winter nights when the power goes out.  I have two huge battery packs as well, to get me through the ccccold dark nights.

android and iOS are at parity with one another in a lot of ways, so it comes down to preference, i think.  i'm an android guy.  i've never owned an apple device, but i've fixed plenty of them and used plenty, enough to know i'll never own an iDevice.

this just isn't true.  there have been numerous vulnerabilities discovered in iOS over the years, many of which made mainstream news.  i remember one where the simple act of receiving a text message formatted in a particular way would give a third party remote access to the device.

That is the only one I was aware of. The rest of the hacks I heard of had to have hands-on the device. I could be wrong. Wasn't really sure I could make it my whole life being right every single time. Please don't tell my kids.

Here is one I wasn't aware of.

i believe that's because in the early days, when apple was still attempting to win over the music production industry, apple had to convince them that ipods wouldn't be used as mobile piracy devices.  part of that effort included a convoluted file management scheme that prevented simply connecting the device to a USB port on a computer and dumping the contents.  there are utilities to make it possible, though, and i suspect that's what you used since the file names were a train wreck.  sooo, the data becomes accessible, but it's far from convenient.

Yeah, fuck that Apple right in the iHole.

That'll ring their bell.

(apologies for going full Illuminatus!, never go full Illuminatus!)

Apple products are for those among us who want everyone to know how cool, unique, and special they are.  You know, non-conformists.

I noticed the word one of the tribes coined for themselves, ''creatives'', for some reason quickly thudded into non-use.

I've been using a free utility called Syncios Manager to backup my iPhone/iPods media. There aren't limitations to the number of files that can be copied with the free version, TMK. It does have nag-to-upgrade screens, but they're not excessive.  I've found the utility keeps music file names intact when copying from an i[Device] to computer.  The utility works with iOS and Android (I have not tested Android) with macOS and Windows OS available.

So you're saying if I was just more conformist I'd be a better non-conformist? They're fucking computers, not mana from heaven. The main reason I use them is simply that they are easier to use and require less (no) maintenance. Also, I've never had a virus or malware. If that's just too hipster for you that's too bad.  Now resume working on your PC feverishly to get it to do what my Mac will just by turning it on. :P

Art Bell, did you watch the debate tonight.
It was very emotional and very moving the way Hillary complimented Trump on his children,on all of Trump's children,
because none of Trump's children were abandoned by Donald Trump!
It was at the end of the debate in case you missed it, Art
