I'm more of a Wagner girl, myself.  (But who could say anything bad about Beethoven, honestly?  It's like saying you don't like pie - it was beautiful.  ;))

Richard Wagner - "Tristan und Isolde", Prelude

Incubus - You Will Be A Hot Dancer

Back when they still were big into Mr.Bungle.

favorite type of music that i put on when reading. the motet

J. S. Bach - Motet "Singet Dem Herrn Ein Neues Lied" BWV 225 (1/3)

easily the most difficult instrument i've ever played. i enjoy listening to those that have it mastered.

Add to the list Ray Charles and Richard Pryor.

my two cent's worth... (how much is that in real money?)

as a Brit, I had the inestimable pleasure of listening in realtime to John Peel through most of the nineties - he is my Art Bell I guess, tho the two shows are totally different obviously - and i was just wondering what the american perspective is on him?

A MINUTES NOISE FOR JOHN (PEEL) - JOHN PEEL TRIBUTE

Death in June - Europa:The Gates of Heaven and Hell

So, anyways, I did not abandon the CoastGabbers!  I was just in Wien for a bit chillin' with the Habsburgs... well, the dead ones, anyway.

I also saw, speak of the devils, the graves of Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Strauss, and even a faux one for Mozart, out there somewhere in a mass-grave.

Wish I was still there... needless to say.

A humble correction, if I may.  THE greatest work of music of all time.   8)

Largely,my exposure to Mr Peel comes via BBC Archive cds, as I read this post, I just so happened to be listening to Fairport Conventions "Best of the BBC" and it includes selections from "Top Gear" episodes from 1968-74. He seemed to be way ahead of the curve of knowing what would be cool.
