The Crown does what? Control the judiciary? Its in the monarch's name, but in practice has no more control over it than you do. The monarch can (still) be made to sign their own death warrant. This is what Trump wants. He wants to be and do what he thinks the Queen of the UK and the Commonwealth does. He really ought to have someone read to him her limitations.
There is one good thing, in a way, I guess, it focuses the power on to one "person" which, in theory, is more manageable psychologically than the more expansive "state" for a defendant.  To wit: "shit, the whole STATE is against me?!" "or all the PEOPLE against me," which would be dispiriting, versus "some old German woman with some Corgis is against me?!," that seems, on its face, a bit more surmountable.

It is weird though. In many ways you are correct replace "Crown" with "State" etc for legal formalities things like "prayers" and stuff that we still use here, that clearly come from the Royal/Bar traditions. I want a royal sword ceremony also. Trump should bring that back.

... But how are you on Trump Jr admitting to wanting shit on Clinton from the Russians? You really are learning from Trump! Change the subject.  ;D

Well, when the spotlight of Russian contact briefly fell on Mrs Clinton, one of her toadies said ''so what, it's opposition researh and everyone does it''.

I don't see what the big deal is really, it seems less than ethial but there is no shortage of less than ethical conduct in DC and in eleection campaigns.  What does bother me is the Fake News Media and the Democrats constantly politizing and criminalizing everything anyone else does, while downplaying and ignoring the same thing when they are caught.

If it's ''opposition research'' when Mres Clinton is accused of it, but an impeachable crime when Trump does it, I'm going to say bullshit.  This isn't some banana republic yet, despite Obama's best efforts - we need one set of rules for everyone.

I'm tired, not only of the blatant and open double standard, not just the obvious lies necessary to support the Left wing narrative, but the assumption that somehow the Ds may be bumblers but have everyone's best interests at heart, while the Rs are greedy, cruel, and evil.

Let's be clear.  Socialism and intrusive government are the evil to guard against - capitalism and individual self determinism is what has created the modern world of wealth, opportunity, and vastly improved standard of living for everyone that lives where it is practiced.

The desperate Iranian people have once again taken to the street to protest their incompetent corrupt, evil government.  Even though Obama's illegal treaty with Iran included planeloads of cash stacked to the ceiling on pallets, access to western financial markets, the end of the embargo which took decades to construct, and allowed them to sell their oil on the international market, they spent none of it on their economic sector.  Instead it all went to their international terror projects, the military, internal ''security'' forces, and their nuclear and ballistic missile weapons programs.

They are spending money on troops and war material in Yemen, Lebanaon, Iraq, and Syria, have regular military, Iranian National Guards, and local Shiite militias massing on Sryia's border with Israel, and are arming up Hezbollah and Hamas.

This is all possible thanks to Obama's treachery.  Thanks to Obama, the people of Iran will have a much more difficult time dislodging what had been a teetering government.

Wary of giving the Iranian government a propaganda victory in being able to legitimately claim the US is sidng with the protestors, Trump gave them support by telling Iran to handle things peacefully.  Obama couldn't even do that during the 2009 uprising.

It dumbfounds me people who never had an ill word for Obama become incensed with every comment and action made by Trump.  Obama set us on the wrong course on almost everything he touched, while Trump is doing his best to roll much of it back and get our country back on the right track  People overwhelmingly say they don't trust the fake news media, yet an enormous number of otherwise intelligent people take their every cue.

You said the PM. The government is in control of the legislature, but the thing to remember is that the sitting government doesn't always get its own way, especially if as Cameron and now Theresa May is finding out, they had a minority and have to form a coalition. Neither Blair nor Thatcher who had huge majorities got all their legislation through.. And no, unlike the aspirations of Trump, the PM doesn't have control over the judiciary.

But how are you on Trump Jr admitting to wanting shit on Clinton from the Russians? You really are learning from Trump! Change the subject.  ;D

Like I said, you can't quite grasp the idea that our head of government is not a dictator.  Part of the brilliance of separation of powers is it doesn't matter what the president wants, his powers are limited (unless it's Obama and weak, directionless, leaderless GOP officeholders in DC, but that's another story)

I doubt very much he ''wants'' control over the judiciary.  That sounds like the fake news media narrative again.  He wants what most of the country wants - judges who follow the law in their rulings, instead of their own left wing whims and agendas.

The country elected him to appoint the judges he felt would best do that, and that's what he's doing.

Why do you think the Ds lost nearly 1000 state legislative seats, 13 governorships, the House, the Senate, and ultimately the presidency during Obama's term?  Because they liked his policies?  Because the Ds were getting what the country wanted done?

Why do you think there is such an outcry with Trump undoing much of it, and taking us in another direction?  Because the country doesn't want him to, or because the people who cheered on the policies that gave us the above election results don't like what's happening now and own the media outlets?

The only thing that surprises me is why Obama, who traditionally was a Sunni- at least according to upbringing and statements, did that big give-away to Iran? I, guess, the whole thing "enemy of my enemy is my friend" and a gut "those guys hate America" or pressure from the usual types in the DOS etc with "the Russians?" Or in Obama's drug-addled mind "any Muslim is a good Muslim?" Who knows? It would be interesting to hear what a body-man had to say about his logic or thinking. Pillow-talk might be great history? I just hope his give-aways to radicals and Muslims and open-border policies don't cause more harm than they already did in this new year.

The term Jr. High commie was used earlier.  I can't think of anyone fitting that description better.  Obama doesn't have a single strongly held belief, other than a vague notion that somehow the US is the problem in the world, and what's bad for us must be good.

5) The administration refuses to put forth a health care plan that provides affordable coverage for all Americans.  To that add all the outright lies and deceptions.

Investigators said Zielke charged $250 a visit and made patients pay in cash.

Haha, that is a good term for him. I laughed so much that his first official act leaving office was renting in a very tony neighborhood in NW (why wouldn't he at least move to a 'gentrifying' area of DC if he was afraid of an outright 'urban' area) and building a wall, despite his no border doctrine of his presidency.

I think he has German lineage? So if a German is good enough for you why can't we also have them as Royals? (According to some reports his dad even claimed to be Swedish- sort of like that royal name change in your Germans.)

His mother was Scottish, the current queen's mother was also Scottish...Spooky! King Trump doesn't have the same ring as Elizabeth Regina. And I doubt his coronation crown will be anything else but vulgar and tacky with 'MAGA' stitched in the ermine.

Really?

Then what's your explanation for all those election losses?  That started the day Obama signed ObamaCare.

What's your explanation of why the country turned to a non-politician rather than elect what the fake news media told us was ''the most qualified person in history''.  I mean, who would turn down someone like that?

Who is it, exactly, that has hounded Trump since before he took office, gone through everything in his past with a fine tooth comb, haven't come up with a single thing of substance, and regardless of that are stll insisting he's guilty of some heinous crime?  It isn't the average voter out there.

On judges, there are decades of examples of wrongly determined cases - but it's a problem that has grown over that time to become the menace to democracy and self rule it is now.  Important cases that followed the whims of the Left rather than followed the law.  These judges don't simply look at the law and come to a decision.  If they did so, the appointment of judges would not have turned into these toe-to-toe, all out battles we see now.  These bloody, divisive, dishonest battles are the Left trying to gain control of a system where their ideas can't win in a legislature but do in a courtroom.

Just one example of Liberal judicial decision making despite what the law says is the immigration of immigrants from Islamic countries rife with terrorists.  The people of this country see what's going on in those countries and in Europe (even if you don't), and don't want that here.  We don't want these people, it's our country, we decide - and that should be the end of it.

The president has every right to exclude them from immigration based on his role as head of national security.  We elect one person to make these decisions, and it's the president.

These fake judges that found in favor of immigrants - including a certain number of terrorists hiding among them - were well outside their judicial roles.  The didn't even bother to cite which law the president was breaking, and either the law or the Constitutional principle they were standing on.
