Bernie Sanders 2020

MV/Liberace!

I looked all over the place and can't find a Bernie 2020 thread on this forum, so I'll make one.

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/gulags-werent-bad-sanders-staffer-says-trump-supporters-will-need-be-re-educated-camps

I doubt Sanders has a fucking clue who this guy is, so I don't necessarily blame Sanders for him.  However, this idiot's concentration camp/gulag rhetoric could be interpreted as a broader commentary on the political instincts and predispositions of people who think like Sanders.

For four years I've heard incessantly about Drumpfler, orange man racist, muh Charlottesville, kids in cages, muh muslim ban, etc. from people who are questionably programmed to believe in their own moral superiority.  Meanwhile, these same people are enthusiastic about "reeducation" camps and/or gulags for their political adversaries?  That's the manifestation of their moral superiority?

Come put me in a reeducation camp.

There's only one "final solution" for those "morally superior" people.  They should be sentenced to the reeducation camp known as EllGab.

I'd settle for them being educated in the first place, never mind re-educated. I don't see many Trump supporters asking how this 'booming' economy came about or what Mr Tangerine Man did to engineer it. It's pretty clear that it's the Fed pumping liquidity into the market giving a false picture of the economy. Sooner or later all those idiots who have taken out loans they can't afford - and the rest of us - will end up carrying the can for it all, but until then I don't see Sanders or anyone else convincing a large enough section of the population that it's all been a con job. The crash of 2008 is ancient history to them and stuff like this gets repeated in an endless loop. As long as there is money to be made, and enough suckers to take the bait, this will carry on.

No, what you wrote is interesting and I somewhat agree with you, sans the prefunctory Trump bashing, of course. It’s an interesting diagnosis. I just wonder what your solution is.

I don't know about 'solution' but I don't see how printing money does anything but exacerbate the situation. People need to be weaned off the drug of cheap money because I can't see any other outcome than roaring inflation, when people see the dollar is worthless, and a worldwide slump. There's a lot of froth in the economy and it needs to be knocked off so we can see if there's any substance underneath. Trump doesn't want that, that's why he was moaning about the Fed chair. He doesn't care if it collapses once he's out of office.

Maybe he just realizes that the Fed is the real scam that’s been being played on the American people for the last century or so.

It’s amazing when you put money into the economy it generates economic growth. Be it the fed lowering rates, or President Donald Jefferson Dutch Millhouse Trump cutting taxes.  Or improving trade deals that keep more wealth in the United States. As opposed to the predecessor that raised taxes via a free health care scam that is now costing the average working class citizen 500% more than they  paid 10 years ago.

Nice to see once you get past the cliche communist Democrat media/party superficiality you can finally put 2 & 2 together and not come up with 73. Well done Fabio.

It's only natural for you to stick up for your fellow dunce, in a way it's admirable. Who knows, maybe you go on window-licking jaunts together? But even someone as unblessed with intellect as yourself might have noticed that he wasn't even addressing the same subject as me. And check out that deficit, which no Republican cares about any more, as long as their donors get to wallow in those tax cuts. Like filthy hogs round the trough.

I don’t know but it sounds like we’re in agreement about the fraudulant, crisis-creating Federal Reserve system. However, why is it anytime citizens are allowed to keep a few more dollars in their pockets you feel compelled to portray them as godless, unethical swine?! You really can’t seem to make your argument stand on its own without ad hominem or 2 dimensional demonization of the counter. ::)

Really?  Nothing Trump has done has had a salutary effect on the U.S economy?  Then why from the early days of his administration has our economy been by every measure the best in generations while the economies of the U.K. and most other European nations have continued to lag?

We're way past the point where apologists for socialism and all things Left can get away with hackneyed truisms concerning certain shortcomings and abuses of capitalism while ignoring the essential failings of the socialist economic model that when put into practice to a significant degree in your own country damn near bankrupted it.  Where and when has the 19th century exercise in superficially appealing utopian dogmatism that you seem to favor proven successful?  (Please don't point to Sweden because despite its near confiscatory tax rate and nanny state social policy it remains very much a capitalist nation.)

I won't bother to once again cite the economy boosting measures implemented by Trump that even some his more persistent critics have been forced to acknowledge as you have never been one to let facts cloud your judgment.   Your failure to give Trump the credit he is due speaks more of  reality rejecting obduracy than it does intelligence or education so spare us the snark.

I did explain this previously but I guess I'll have to dumb it down to white trash level so you will understand. Remember when you first got hooked on opioids? Maybe you had another quadruple bypass and needed them to cope with the pain, or maybe you got them from one of your buddies down at the over-80s bowling league and those little suckers made you feel you were 78 again. Well, the American economy is like that, except it's addicted to cheap money. What was a necessary temporary measure to jolt the economy back into life and make the banks start lending again after 2008 never actually stopped. It's hard to reason with an addict because they don't realise they have a problem until it's too late.

Trump - like a typical con man - doesn't want you to realise what's happening under the table. It's a pyramid scheme and he's another Madoff, where everything seems fine on the surface as long as there's new money coming in. Trump does nothing to develop new industries, which take time and commitment to nurture, he props up old ones. Like a typical fat corporate leech he's out to skin the typical worker and hand it over to the rich - neo-liberal economics 101. Unfortunately the average American is too moronic to realise they are being robbed, as long as they have a bit of cash to spunk away on more useless shit.

You don't even known what socialism is. Your country is being propped up by a shell game organised by the state and you have the nerve to lecture other people about socialism? The difference with socialism is that it is intended to benefit a broad section of people, not just a narrow band of plutocrats, which is the case in America right now. If people really paid attention they would be stringing people up in the streets but you're all so beaten down and apathetic, pathetically grateful for the crumbs that fall off the rich man's table, that you'll almost certainly never wake up.

I wonder why they’re protesting in China then? I guess they just don’t realize how good they’ve got it now that they’re perfectly egalitarian with no plutocrats. :-\

I grew weary hearing the bleating of ingrates benefiting from my crumbs, so I instructed my advisors to rev up the financial rumbas to reclaim those crumbs and reinvest them in gold holdings in Uruguay and Argentina.

Too bad people like you did not invest those crumbs instead of complaining.

Why worry- according to the woke among us, the world is going to end in 12 11 years anyway. Sooner, if the communists, socialists, democratic socialists, seize power.
