Small potatoes when compared to the frequency of gun play in Washington, D.C.

No BDA yet but it's starting to look like the attacks were a token gesture.  No American casualties for the expenditure of 16 or so missiles.  They are either not willing to escalate hostilities in a direct confrontation with the U.S. or their missileers really suck.  Probably the former and the attack was no more than an effort to save face and satisfy those Iranians who aren't actually celebrating Solemeini's demise.  Expect that Iran will go back to conducting guerrillera/provocateur operations as before albeit with dwindling financial resources.  As of now it looks like Trump is playing his cards exactly right.

Iran citing UN charter on self defense for its missile response. Wonder which Democrat media/party members are consulting with Iran on how to wage the PR war.

Or the typical weekend in lovely South Chicago.

Iranian nuclear-related facilities would be high on my list of targets, to start.  Time to stop screwing around and blow that crap sky high.

John Kerry is Iran’s primary consultant.

Attacks by who?  When?  Sounds unassociated to last night's unpleasantness.

Actually it's C4I nowadays. Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence.  Only Duke and I remember when it was C3I.  (Hell, I remember when it was C3 or "C cubed" but then I'm older than God.)

I honestly dont remember the terms C3 or C4 from the Forces, at least in terms of decapitation type strikes.  I remembered the  C3 term from watching Desert Storm on a 10 foot C-band Big Ugly Dish.

Sorry, due to the "Generals killing and its associated unrest". Not due to the "ballistic missile attack"(hee-hee) of last night.  Some Germans came out too.

Two earthquakes strike near Iran nuclear plant
By Artemis Moshtaghian, CNN
Updated 9:52 AM ET, Wed January 8, 2020
https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/08/middleeast/iran-earthquakes-nuclear-plant-intl/index.html

(CNN)Two earthquakes struck near a nuclear power plant in southwestern Iran on Wednesday morning, just over a week after another quake hit the region.

The first quake, measuring 4.9 magnitude, struck just before 9.00 a.m. local time in Bushehr province, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
Around 30 minutes later a second quake, this time measuring 4.5 magnitude, struck the same province which runs along the Iranian coastline.

The quake epicenters were within 20 kilometers of the city of Borazjan -- a short distance from the country's Bushehr nuclear power plant.
Another earthquake, measuring 5.1 magnitude, struck the same region less than two weeks ago.

Magnitude 5.1 earthquake strikes Iran near nuclear power plant
In a dramatic day for Iran, the two quakes happened just hours after the country fired a number of missiles at two Iraqi bases housing US troops, in retaliation for the US' killing of a top Iranian general last week.

In the wake of Qasem Soleimani's killing last week, Iran said it was ending its commitment to the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.
Opened in August 2010, Bushehr is not only Iran's first nuclear plant but the first civilian reactor in the Middle East.

History of deadly quakes
Iran is no stranger to tectonic activity. The country sits on a major fault line between the Arabian and Eurasian plates, and has experienced many earthquakes in the past.
In November, at least five people died and 330 others injured when a 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck northwestern Iran.

A quake that struck near the Iran-Iraq border in November 2017 killed at least 452 people.
The deadliest quake this century occurred in 2003, when a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck the southeastern Iranian city of Bam, killing some 26,000 people.

CNN's Sheena McKenzie and Ben Westcott contributed to this report.

Sure, "earthquakes".

"What's that strange glow?"
"ooohhh, I don't feel so good."
"Damn, I just shat myself."

I suspect that these sort of weapons are supposed to be prohibited by treaty, but less than lethal is much nicer, don't you think?

Okay, so the missile attack was just funeral celebratory fireworks, and Russia maintains control of it's proxy, after all.  Remember early in President Trump's Administration when he shot a ring of cruise missiles at Russian troops who remained coward in their barracks when he shot up the Syrian airfield where a chemical weapons attack was originated from, after Trump advised Russia to evacuate their troops?

Yet, I wonder if with the US occupation of Iraq for so many years, that there isn't an gimongous underground city sized bunker to house troops and civilian contractors safely during the most devastating of attacks?

Also it occurs to me, that when President Trump insisted repeatedly that cultural sites would be fair game, he wasn't specifically referring to the physical office of Supreme Leader?

Then there's that letter in response to Iraq's vote to expel the US Military, which was latter declared to be a mistake, after it was noted that the passed resolution had not been ratified.  Sort of like how Congress impeached the President, but never filed the supposed articles of impeachment, as if to impotently, dangle a sword.

Iraq is like Vichy France, or Mussolini; apprehensively in the middle.

Trump's speech this morning was "perfect" despite his stumbling over a few words.  It was clear, succinct and hard hitting.  (Most hard hit were the democrats who haven't been right about anything since Harry Truman.)  There can be no doubt in anyone's mind that Iran blinked, Trump has proven his point and he continues to apply the right balance of force and restraint.  Of course the Dems and MSM will continue to play the "shoulda, coulda, woulda" game but nothing succeeds like success and their arguments are becoming more and more silly as their desperation grows.  I will tune in to Chris Mathews tonight to witness his descending into full apoplexy under the strain of trying to vindicate or rationalize all of his dumb-shit statements to date and later watch Rachel Madow to see if Trump's actions have succeeded in emasculating her (in a rhetorical sense of course.)

Dave at X22 Report says that Iran is turning the Deep State traitors for a new deal, and that the cultural sites are nuke installations.  He rhetorically wonders if the Ukrainian 737-800 (not a MAX) which crashed was shot down, as Iran won't give Boeing the black box?  He further speculates that Prince Harry is distancing himself and his immediate family from the investigation which currently embroils the Royals.

"As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon."

"As we continue to evaluate options in response to Iranian aggression, the United States will immediately impose additional punishing economic sanctions on the Iranian regime. These powerful sanctions will remain until Iran changes its behavior."
