I think the cloudseeding, at least as I know, is over a relatively small area when compared to some of our droughts which are vast. The cost might be prohibitive or the technology isn't advanced enough to cover such a large area?

We have so many parts of the country with too much water (like in the upper midwest there is almost always flooding once the ice dams and ice melts in spring. Or here in Texas where we have a drought and then a week of flooding etc.) I think we should be building more retention facilities, canals, or even pipelines to store water or move water from areas with a lot of it to parched regions, instead of simply drilling deeper and depleting aquifers faster than they can be replenished.

Thanks for the links.  :D  I have no doubts that we are researching ways to modify the weather but it would seem that success in doing so is another thing altogether.  Maybe we can induce a cloud already predisposed towards rain to increase the totals but anything beyond that is highly unlikely.  And what's the point in seeding clouds if you can't affect a large area?

It doesn't seem that way to me. I don't think your point is clear here.

Yeah, I've got the movie in my collection but haven't watched it yet.  I guess I assume it's about a con but who knows.  American Indians had rain dances and maybe there was something to them.  I'm more open to the idea that there have been supernatural causes for rain occasionally.  Not dissimilar to stories of the sky raining rocks down on the ground.  Who knows? As for Project Cumulus, the wiki entry says there was nothing to it but we know wiki doesn't necessarily tell the truth. I'm open to the idea but I'm extremely skeptical.

If you were "extremely skeptical" you would have done basic research before now. I'm calling shenanigans.

From what I recall the movie was more of a romance but, yes, a con was involved.

The UAE articles are interesting and gel with my thoughts on where we are at currently regarding cloud-seeding.  I can see us enhancing rain totals in the near future but as the article suggests only certain kinds of clouds work for such an operation.  That is a long way from actually greatly affecting the weather and combating droughts though. I'll have to check out the first link later as that is quite lengthy.

It doesn't matter what you imagine to be possible. What is fact is that the drought has been square for the better part of a decade.

Pretending this didn't happen isn't skepticism.

You pick 2 days where the patterns are similar.   I can do that too.  It is funny how you focused on that specific area of the Pacific.  That is right where the water is extraordinarily warm probably due to underwater volcanoes.  Maybe that has something to do with where the storms are going.

If Bush could guide Katrina to New Orleans' 9th Ward a decade ago, Obama can cause global warming and winter storms now.

Apparently they used older kh-9 Hexagon satellite photos to construct 3-d models of the glaciers in the area.  The optics of these birds was amazing.  Just imagine what the newer KH-11 birds can do.

be sure to include a cod piece when sunbathing.

And while we're on the subject, I find the notion that the Sahara Desert developed "naturally" to be utterly farcical--but that's really a topic for another thread.

I don't deny that many glaciers are melting but I do doubt the cause for such melting coming from man.  I  whole-heartedly believe in climate change.  The climate has been changing for millions of years.

Oh but just to counter your point.

Yes, many of these videos still assert that man-made climate change may be causing these glaciers to grow but my point is that many glaciers are still growing.

Something for the alarmists to chew on.

Watch the whole thing and particularly the bit about what the 97% of climate scientists agree on which I would agree with.  Yes we have some influence on the climate but it is very, very small fraction of 1 degree Celsius.

That's really just your opinion--which at this point is really no longer credible.

Hmm, saw this in the opening scenes of a movie once.  Are you seeing this Art?

As to what happens to the radiation of the water molecule when it evaporates, I'm not sure.

As you wish.
