Nice! I'm listening to it now. I like the cross-over :) Interesting questions hashed. Maybe we can hope you'll do one with the Hoagland Imaging Team?

Thanks astroguy! Can you explain where the "97% of climate scientists" figure comes from? I trust your judgment but I have heard some disputes over this number.

Here's an example article quickly pulled from the internet:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/alexepstein/2015/01/06/97-of-climate-scientists-agree-is-100-wrong/#470edd097187
First, look at the author of that article: Alex Epstein, someone who's made a career advocating for fossil fuel use.  Doesn't mean it's wrong, but it's a warning flag.

Next, there have been many studies that combed through the scientific literature about climate change to see who thinks it's real and who doesn't.  Here's a blog that summarizes 7 of those reviews and the one that Epstein complains about (Cook et al., 2013) is just one of them.

Another thing you can look to is the professional studies that have members who do the research on this work.  NASA's website (for now) has a list of seven of them, though I have no idea why the AMA has come out in support.  But the other six are relevant and their members pushing for this are the only way that these scientific organizations will come out with such a policy statement.

I found the discussion of the 'new" ninth planet very interesting. But all along I was wishing I knew what astroguy would say about it.
Talked a bit about it here.

Random question:  I was having dinner with Alan Stern last night and told him I had listened to a guy claiming that he and Alan exchanged looks in a bathroom when Alan was giving a public talk about New Horizons.  Same place Chris Russell was talking about Dawn.  He was Hoagie's "on-site reporter" for the night.

Anyone remember who that was and what night that was?  Alan said he'd like me to send him the clip.  And asked if the guy knew he was married, given that in my rendition of the story is was an exchanged look in the bathroom.

Alan also said he's horrible with names, so the idea that Alan knew who this guy was is insane.

Venus wave may be Solar System's biggest - www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38638067
I'm not sure that's the "biggest."  Keep in mind the standing wave pattern on the north pole of Saturn (the hexagon), which is around 13,000 km, and this one on Venus is 10,000.

This Great Pyramid news story is supposed to be the subject for one of George Knapp's guests tomorrow night.
Why is Jimmy Church doing this same subject tonight instead of the Black Knight satellite story, stealing from Knapp's thunder?
I'm not listening to this live, but Jimmy did the same thing on his show a week or so ago, calling it the Black Knight Satellite show and then not discussing it for most of the show.  Berry is just a crazy person who makes $h¡‡ up and I'm guessing he's just using the pyramid to claim evidence for a past civilization that was lost due to his imagined cycles?

Black Knight Satellite show tonight.   8)
Damon T. Berry is one of the bigger idiots I've heard lately.  Almost everything he says is easily, demonstrably, FALSE.  Take his claims of the Antikythera mechanism.  He claims it shows the motions and positions of all the stars.  It does no such thing.  It's an orrery that can predict where various planets will be, including planning eclipses, and it it had the zodiacal signs.  It's very cool, it pushed Greek engineering back further than we had known.  But it's not some mystical thing that is far in advance of our computers today.  Or his claims that the Mayan calendar is more accurate than our own.  That's ridiculous on its face.  Our system of measuring time is accurate to milliseconds.  The Mayan calendar system didn't have any unit of time smaller than 1 day.

Why does imperfect memory have to have a classification like "Mandela Effect"?
Because people think they're perfect.

Hey Stuart, what do you need to get to a typical astronomy conference? An abstract or a paper?
Just the registration.

I assume they are talking about a caller that I believe is named Dino.  Jimmy went an extra hour to cover the election and took calls from his regulars in that hour.   Anyway, Dino was discussing the election and getting ready to make a point.
Jimmy interrupted him.  Dino responded "Hold it....".
Jimmy then went postal.  He said that no one calls his show and tells him to hold it.  He cut off Dino and reminded the listeners that it was his show, it was done for himself, and he would not take orders from any listener,  blah blah blah.
Wow.

Church just gave one of his regular arse-lickers a kick in the bollocks. I don't think he'll be ringing in again anytime soon.
?  Are you talking about last night?  I can't bring myself to listen to any of the usual conspiracy shows that I listen to because they're all reveling in His Orangeness.  So ... if you're talking about what happened last night, do tell.

Thanks astroguy. Did a quick read. Good stuff. Lots of typos though.
I wrote it in the car yesterday on a road trip.  Though I didn't catch any typos when recording ... what are some of the more egregious ones?

Fred Koch: My post explained the situation. It pretty much boils down to monetary concerns. It would be interesting to see the business model/plan this show runs on. How much do guests on the show receive for their appearance? Has anyone noticed the cheesy ads that were running during the show? None of which had any linkage to this show or its audience. Of course a lot of mainstream advertising probably wouldnt connect themselves with this show and its topics. Art Bell has companies advertising that follow his passion for short wave radio and the like. I would suggest that Robin could help him out with holistic products and therapy ads.

He blames the CIA and the NSA for hacking his skype lines. The problem all along has been the RCH.

take these with ..what ever you want..just me being bored and looking..a few things from the OSOM FB page

Paul Mervin KCAA has been a train wreck from the start, this is great news! Good luck, make my day and announce you going back to DMDN???

then there is some..clarification which comes down to him being one cheap fucker

Fred Koch The latest news from KCAA's Fred Lund is that Richard is not willing to pay KCAA any more money until the deal with the new network is finalized. KCAA has provided them service at below their costs but can no longer afford to do so. Richard has neen very displeased with KCAA's performance so far. Mr Lund personally negotiated the new deal with GCN Live network and stated to me he is "bewildered" by Richard's desire to part ways at this time. Mr Lund was very forthcoming with his explanation of this unfortunate situation. I hope Richard is as well, as we all really want this show to go on. Making the "connections" isn't very easy without RCH! Richard, I hope you won't see this post as someone overstepping his boundaries. I merely wanted to shed some light on the situation. Sincerely, Fred Koch, avid listener, one of your biggest fans...
This is what happens when a narcissist is faced with reality, when they don't get everything they think their excellence deserves.  Very similar to what's happening with a certain orange hobgoblin with a bad comb-over.
