And that bright spot in the northwest part of Crisium?  Simple: Bright crater ejecta from a very young crater.

WAC reflectance

WAC morphometric of the exact same area, and you can see the crater that formed that bright ejecta

I'm sure it doesn't need to be said, but I'm listening to the 1hr 40min point from last night, with the "cover image" for the shows being talked about ... those are not "glass structures."  Very simple way to know:  Zoom in, as he tells everyone to do.  You will notice that the blue is in blocks.  Those blocks are not parallel to the lunar surface.  They are parallel to the image edges.  That's JPG noise from a crappy scan.

Yep, as far as I can tell. RCH finally figured out BTR and no longer can you download the shows afterwards (I'm told you can if you are listening but haven't tried.) Or you can wait until the end of the month and somebody posts the monthly shows on a TPB torrent.
I was able to get it before I left for the airport this morning at 7am, mountain time.

Hoagie has a 2parter this weekend:

Looks like this post of mine should be a pre-requisite for this weekend's cluster.

I guess RCH figured out BTR? No ability to d/l the recent shows now and he is not popular enough for anybody to post on torrents, interwebs, or youtubes.  :(
There is someone who has been posting monthly torrents on TPB.  Also, if you happen to get the show within a few minutes of its end, you can download the full 3 hours.  I have this weekend's.

So this backyard mechanic is Hoagland’s “head of the lab engineer”?
Shocking.  ::)

BlogTalk gives a runtime error for me.

Expat and astroguy ought to have a blast sorting through this gobblygook.
I lost internet for the last while.  Still don't really have it back (very very very slow).  I live up in the mountains of Colorado, so, internet can be sketchy at times.  Blogtalk is not yet streaming for me again.

RCH Hypothesis:  Last week's show was blocked because THEY don't want you to hear it.

Logical Prediction Based on Hypothesis:  This week's repeat attempt will also be blocked.

Question:  If it's not, does that falsify RCH Hypothesis?  ???

"The only person Richard C. Hoagland is a threat to is himself."

Such a thing would certainly spell disaster for any ordinary human. However, RCH appears to be so superhumanly incompetent that it might actually turn out to be his greatest asset.
Reminds me of the Frank Grimes episode of The Simpsons.

The show I d/led from BTR has him saying it. And it is almost 19.5 minutes long but RCH didn't hit the bullseye on that.
There are few times that I'm happy to be wrong. I figured that since the audio wasnt 1.5hrs, that that cut it out, but I didn't listen to check. Glad to be wrong.  :)

Patrick states that there was nineteen minutes of programing, yet he ostensibly, only quotes a mere, four sentences.  It's not for me to transcribe all that other, crap.  If you clowns can prove your assertions, then why don't you do it?
Did you read this thread at all?  RCH presented a normal broadcast for about 19 minutes.  Then it was dead air, interrupted maybe 20 minutes later for a few seconds of music.  The quote then happened over an hour into the dead air.  It was isolated.  The only "context" was silence for an hour.  The recording that is now on BlogTalk only gives the first 19 minutes.  Obviously, Richard is not going to post his minor temper tantrum.  Unless any of us were recording it ourselves, via some other application, there is no documentation other than the two independent posts to this thread when we heard him say it.

It's more than just a little cowardly to quote out of context, as you've done, there.
Okay, which quote(s) was/were taken out of context, and give us the appropriate context.

i missed this - you literally heard him tonight say 'I don't wanna be on the air.'?

he gets hacked the same way Art Bell gets stalked. delusions or just old fashioned lying bullshit artists.
Schlyder and I both heard it, independently, and posted within a minute of each other.  So, yes ... he really said it.

Kynthia: "Now you're on the air."

RCH:  "No, I don't want to be on the air. Let's end the show."

AM*:  "You can apologize to your audience."

RCH:  "No, no, no ..."

I would like to know who his "technical experts" are and what their experience is.

And as I type this, he just came on.

Robin does not know what the word "toxin" means.  >:(

Hoagland's titles are almost as bad as the headlines for The Daily Mail.  ::)

I missed it and assumed I'd download it later and listen at 1.5x speed.  HOWEVER, it appears as though Richard has realized Blogtalk posts full episodes.  Everything for the last month is now edited to 1 hour.  Last night's isn't up.

What are the odds that RCH will manage to claw his way onto the air tonight?

How many shows has he managed to pull out of his ass hat over the air the last few weeks? It surely has to be an all time record what with so many successes back to back like that.

For the reason mentioned above, I will now engage in a classic gambler's fallacy and bet a full ten double platinum internets, that tonight, RCH will fail to deliver more than a few minutes of actual live show.

2:3 odds, I bet π*e*((3^3)^(1/4)) Quatloo.

Devastating Earthquakes likely, between now and February 9th, 2018,
as result of the Blue Moon - Blood Moon - Super Moon, eclipse, on January 31st, 2018.
(Based upon methodology developed by the late, Jim Berkland.)

Gorsh!  And you have only a 3/4 chance of being right based on simply covering 3 of 4 weeks of a lunar cycle!  What are the odds!?!?!

I wonder if it could be done without running afoul of defamation/libel statutes. I supose that depends partially on whether RCH is a big enough 'public person' or not.
Puh-leese.  Science advisor to Walter Cronkite?  Good friend of Gene Roddenberry, Ike Azimov, and Arthur C. Clark?  You're covered.

In all seriousness, I would suspect that yes, his own self-aggrandizement is enough to consider him a public figure for the sake of parody without defaming.  But I'm not a lawyer.  But I used the same argument against an astrologer when she started to try to sue me: She billed herself as "World Famous Celebrity Astrologer" and it was on all her websites and social media.

None of the planets have hydrogen cores.  Another misunderstanding of Neal's that he then abuses to assume things about Earth.

Ground speed or air speed?
Moon doesn't travel through air.

Okay, I can't listen to this anymore.  80 minutes of this level of stupid is enough for me for one night.
#148
OMFG THIS IS AMAZING.  Two+ minutes spent arguing over a factor of 2 of how fast Moon moves around Earth.

I think perhaps the word force may not be legitimately applicable to gravity, no?
It's the "reaction" part.  The single force causes equal/opposite action/reaction, it's not an equal/opposite force.

OMG NOT EVEN HOAGLAND KNOWS HOW TIDES WORK

It's not centrifugal nor centripetal force.  Water close to moon is pulled more than the body of the planet, which is pulled more than water on the other side of the planet.  Thus, you get two tidal bulges, one because it's pulled the most towards the moon, one because it's pulled less towards the moon.

Also, Hoagland is right, Moon goes about 2288 miles per hour around Earth.
