Carrie [the original]
Terror Train
Shaun of the Dead
Final Destination [while I enjoyed all of them, I think the first one is my favorite of the franchise]
Halloween [the original]

I also liked All Cheerleaders Die - in a campy sort of way.  ;D

As most of you know, I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but damn if the last two pages of this thread didn't make me laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

Coaster a troll?  Please. ::)

Art was unable to contact the scheduled guest by phone in the first hour, so he went to open lines instead.

Thank you, Morgus - I also tuned in late and was wondering what happened to the guest tonight, as well.

Last time, I swear.

I would like to change my username from Horror Digest to Gossip Ghoul [because well...new writing gig, new twitter, etc., etc. ...what a pain].

Thanks so much.  :)

Oh my god... could we somehow get noory to interview Karl Pilkington?

LOL! Can you just imagine how that interview would go?  I don't even want to think about it ... or wait ... maybe I do ...  :o

How dare you sir. Karl is a nice guy who is kind to animals.

Nope - Karl only likes insects. I think you might be getting him confused with Derek, who loves animals and reminds us that "kindness is magic."

PS - Not a "sir" but a "ma'am."  ;)

This was one of my favorites! I especially enjoyed how Art had to keep Thompson on track by reeling him back in every 5 to 10 minutes just so Thompson wouldn't completely go off the rails. If nothing else, it was amusing for that aspect alone!  ;D

George once again proves that his reasoning powers are shit.

He asked the guest, Linda, if she would want to know the date of her death so she could change it.  She correctly pointed out to him that if she knew the date ahead of time, that meant it was predetermined and couldn't be changed.  George then argued that he believed free will would overcome that.  She correctly pointed out that what he was talking about wasn't free will (and then he talked over her before she could say it was fate).  Then he continued to babble bullshit while she tried as politely as she could to explain his own flawed logic to him.

George Noory is the Karl Pilkington of terrestrial radio.

Back behind the Darkness Radio mic on Monday night (2/10) less than two minutes into the start of the show, Schrader told listeners he will be once again be hosting Coast to Coast this weekend and:

"They (Coast to Coast) don't consider themselves a paranormal show. They consider themselves a variety show, and they just have a slant towards the paranormal. We (Darkness Radio) come in more 'balls to the wall' with paranormal, so we like to have that angle ... and feel that's kind of our place."

He also goes on to mention that since John B. Wells is gone, Coast to Coast has put him into rotation for what he hopes will be a few times each month.

You can listen to Darkness Radio on Tunein, iTunes and Stitcher, while Podbay has all the archived shows and you can listen from the website, as well.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I hope C2C doesn't get their hooks too deep into Schrader.  I'm afraid they'll turn him into just another C2C clone for the masses, thus encouraging him to lose all that makes him unique as a host.

I've been listening to the awesomeness that is Darkness Radio for a long time, and believe me when I say Schrader is just too good to end up being a regular host on Coast to Coast.

Living about two hours or so from Des Moines at the time, I remember the disappearance of Johnny Gosch quite well.  It scared my mother so much that she made my brother quit his paper route.

I've been following the case off and on ever since.

If I remember correctly, didn't his mother say that years later Gosch showed up at her house incognito for some reason?

The case is both horrifying and fascinating; so many theories.

I finally listened to the GabCast this morning, and I just wanted to chime in and say thanks for doing it.

Obviously, it was great to hear Art - and to hear his side of things - but it was also nice to finally be able to put voices to so many of you.  I've been a member of this board for over three years, and I've often wondered what some of you were/are really like outside of this forum, so it was a pleasure to be able to hear your conversations and get a glimpse into your personalities.

Thanks for a great show!  :)

Very well stated, onan.   I'm wondering if this was the price Hogue was willing to pay in order to be a future guest on C2C.  Whatever the explanation, of this I'm certain:  Hogue is one of the biggest assholes ever to share a broadcast with Art Bell.  Pure toxic.

Agreed. I couldn't even listen to the entire interview. It wasn't long before I grew bored listening to Hogue skate around answers to questions.  If I wanted to hear bullshit, I'd listen to C2C.

When you die, you don't know you are dead. It's only hard for everyone else.
It's the same when you are stupid.

So much this.

One might argue that conspiracies, by nature, are scary and fear mongering. I agree but only to an extent.

George Knapp might have a show on area 51 cover ups. The government is keeping something from us.
If Wells would do the same show the government would be hiding area 51 because they are going to enslave us all. Special guest, some expert on a product he sells on his shows will chime in on this dark matter.

Knapp show: JFK assassination was a cover-up?
Wells show: It was a cover-up because JFK was going to blow the whistle on a world order that was going to enslave us all. Special guest, a leading expert in water filtration systems chimes in on this dark matter.

Knapp show: Disappearances in parks
Wells show: Midlife crisis on air with a whole night of 60s-70s rock bands. Special guest: radiation detection expert chimes in on this dark subject.

Bell show: Big Foot being covered up?
Wells show: Big foot is being covered up by our government because they are going to enslave us all. Special guest: The same radiation expert chimes in on this dark subject.

Nailed it.

New post by Art on Facebook -

"I no longer harbor a grudge against Oates, it's not healthy. Premiere however is a another matter, I have nothing less than a institutional hate for what they did to me. I had almost decided not to tell that story but after what George did on Thursday (I have word from a inside source that indeed it was George over the advice/objections of his Producer) it just may be time for a clear slate. Stay tuned"

Good - and I look forward to it.

Sooner rather than later, George is going to have his ass handed to him.  The "nice guy" schtick is up.

Thanks for your replies, Scully and Morgus.  It sounds like I didn't miss much.

Yep - If Noory didn't take any calls, he was probably just playing it safe so he wouldn't have to hear callers referencing Bell's banning of Oates years ago. I'm betting no way did Noory want to be on the receiving end of those calls, especially without wearing his fire suit.

Hot off the presses.  This just in on Facebook from Art at 4:50 AM as I write:

"Art Bell
Last night Coast did the most shameful thing since George has been in that seat, I am just sad for them.
Like ·  · Share · 6 minutes ago near Pahrump, NV ·"

Gotta be the Oates interview.

I just saw this over on Art's Facebook and posted it in the Art Bell thread.

I don't listen to the show, but I think you're right, Scully. Art's comment obviously had to be in response to the David John Oates interview.  Did you hear the show?  I'm actually curious to know how it played out.
