bzzzzzzt.

She has actually driven listeners back to sNoory. Read the threads, and based on the thread activity alone, not to mention Arbitron ratings, Jorch is #winning.
George certainly will win.  He's on terrestrial radio and his program is the traditional Coast to Coast.  There is a big audience that does not listen to broadcasts on their computers.  If you listen to many of George's callers, I doubt if many actually HAVE computers.  In my town there is a senior food shopping bus and, I kid you not, NONE of the people on that bus have a computer.  Many of George's old bible thumpers probably are the same.  And I am on the East Coast, very close to New York.

That's my opinion as well. Too much feigned imitation of Art and not enough individualistic innovation. It has been over a year... just be yourself, whether that's ideal or not.

I'm sure there is many, due to the subjective nature, criticisms that people can make that causes them to cringe, but when Heather says "My God..." or "Oh My God" that is my kryptonite. It was something Art said to emphasize how moved he was on what the guest was saying. She overuses it way too much. With that being said, I'd still listen to MITD over a C2C show hosted by George Noory any night  :D
I agree.  She's still better than George.  George has had so long to clean up his act and has never done so.  I guess the man knows his limits.  Over time, Heather may improve.  She does not interrupt as much as George does and she does not try to put the guest off track.  She usually just confirms what he had just said - for some reason.

CIA headquarters burns and reveals industrial scale illicit drug lab.

"  This is the first time, however, that drugs are seized on an official CIA installation, and the incident could have some very serious consequences for the organization which is already at odds with the new American President. "

http://laudalino.blogspot.com/2017/02/fire-damages-cia-headquarters-and.html
Yes.  They are now exploring to see if the fire was a meth lab explosion.  The article mentions Mena, as well.

This started with the Vietnamese war, didn't it?  So many of our guys came home addicted.  Funny, how most seemed to dry out at home without a lot of rehab?
I can't believe that, when there was so much money made back then with illegal drugs, that folks would have stopped or only have done it sporadically.

George W, one of the first things he stated he wanted to do when he took office, was to stop inspections of trucks crossing back and forth across the Mexican border.  He never gave an explanation for that.  And, shipping bodies from the war back home in the wee hours of the morning and forbidding reporters and the public to 'greet' the bodies, once again on American soil?  We know that drugs were smuggled into the country by the government in caskets.  There were pictures of crashed planes, the contents broken and drugs strewn all over.

I remember, in the 60's, blacks in the ghettos would complain that the government was shipping drugs into their neighborhoods.  I was shocked that anyone could think such a thing.  I believed in America back then, irrationally  backed the country.  I was incredibly stupid, because it turns out that they were right.

Thanks for this information.

Poor Heather.  She'd sometimes interrupt with some not-too-bright comment to which Levenda would make some quick reply and then continue on with his idea.  I can see how she reminds some of Noory.  Her voice also sounds strained, artificial, and 'put on'.  She's trying to mimic Art's inflections and it does not seem as natural with her.  On the occasions when she forgets herself and stops with the phony voice, she sounds much better.  In her own voice she can connect better with the audience.  In her phony Art voice she puts the audience off.

I really enjoyed Levenda.  He's so interesting that I bought the Sinister series.  I think, as an interview, we found out more of his ideas on Heather's show than we would have on two hours with Noory.

I saw Art yesterday.  I was at the store to pick up some paper towels, and I saw him standing in front of the diaper section.  ''Art?'' I said, ''is that you?''.  He sort of squinted at me and nodded.  ''One of my cats is having a kitten'', he mumbled.  ''The big one.  She figured out how to use the can opener.  Michael Savage hates my cats''.

Just then, I heard the front door close, and Art dove for cover.  ''Get down'' he hissed.  ''Sniper.  Or maybe a firecracker.  Can you call Heather?''  I assured him it was just the front door, and he seemed relieved.  ''Oh', he said as he got up and brushed himself off, ''a person can't be too careful these days''.  have to go'', he said.  ''I only shop where they play my music''.  He started repeating the lyrics to the Catsup Song, paid for his diapers, and left.
I must say, you're both clever and entertaining, PeanutButter.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba â€"  A Canadian man who was found not criminally responsible for beheading and cannibalizing a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus has been granted his freedom.

That immigrant who beheaded and ate some of a dude on a bus several years ago is Scot free. At the time I never heard the carny aspect, which is strange, one of the few times it was the carny who the victim. Still a crazy story, unclear if the Jets will be hiring him as their enforcer.
"The ruling added there must be clear evidence of a significant risk to the public for the review board to continue imposing conditions after a person is found not criminally responsible."

Goodness, what proof do they need that this guy is a significant risk to the public?  They say he understands that he must take his meds - well he understood that before killing that man, as well.

Well, I suppose judges can be bribed in Canada just as they are here.

It is almost like he times it. The best, if one can use that word, question or story from the guest, will be timed right before a commercial break and then when they come back they are off on another subject the most interesting part of the guest's story is never given, answered, resolved, or is cut-short. It is like he skipped out of class early when they were talking about cliff-hangers and keeping an audience's attention.
Yes.  Art used to dig in when a guest mentioned something that could be potentially interesting.  He got all the meat possible out of any train of thought.  Heather tries to do that, but she does not have Art's knowledge and experience.  Noory is VERY lucky that he got this spot.  Around the country this is the ONE program that offers this type of material, esp. on a daily basis.

From what I've heard, and I don't listen to it that often, the guest who are bigger names, like LMH, will stick to their script.  Johnathan Hari did this, as well, which surprised me.  He must have listened ahead of time.

I don't know why they don't resume the same conversation when they come back from commercial.  Maybe Noory has a retention problem.  Could be.

Liberals seizing on Trump's natural inclination as a father to lash out against those he thinks are punishing his daughter for his political views is beyond petty, it's crankish.  Do you really think that Trump fears that his billion dollar empire is threatened by the actions of Nordstroms et al?   Silly.  😝
Yeah.  I don't think the typical Nordstrom customer is a Trump supporter.  They certainly rejected him socially in New York.  They are probably the ones who refused to purchase Ivanka products and Nordstrom, like any business, made a decision to drop the unprofitable line.

Neiman Marcus also dropped the line, but no one is criticizing them.  Why not, I wonder?

"Around the globe, and especially in developing countries with weak government institutions, leaders frequently become enmeshed in scandals for allegedly mixing personal business with their public duties . . .

Over and over again, you see this pattern of populist leaders, often democratically elected, who use the power of office to enrich themselves, their families and their cronies, . . .

This is the behavior of a Mafia don defending his turf, not the president of the United States,
A tipping point came Thursday morning, when Conway gave what she said was a "free commercial" for Ivanka Trump's clothing line . . .

The Republican National Committee, for example, warned during the campaign that Clinton would be compromised if she became president and left her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, on the board of her foundation because donors might try to buy access with charitable gifts. Now Trump and his staff appear to be openly promoting his daughter's private business, which benefits her directly . . .
Watchdog groups have accused Trump of violating the "emoluments clause" of the Constitution â€" which bars presidents from receiving benefits from foreign governments â€" by maintaining a stake in hotels and other businesses that can do business with actors abroad . . . "

Trump really needs to consult with others before he puts his big foot in his mouth.  If he had added Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to his list of countries he could more easily have claimed that the ban was for security purposes, and not religion.  Because there are Trump businesses in those two most dangerous, radical, violent countries, (who have attacked us and currently train and fund more attackers) he omitted them from his list and because of this, we are admitting what might be terrorists into the country.  What a self-serving schmuck!  I kept warning people that his main goal was money for the family coffers and now, judging from his moves, that's proving to be true.  God, his main motivation through most of his life has been making money.  It is almost impossible to break such habits at his age.

Noory will interrupt a guest while the guest is saying something interesting.  He will usually ask a superficial question and a guest who is not used to Noory's bs will just go wherever Noory wants to take him.

There is a balance that has to be met and Noory has not figured out what that is.  Noory does not get the best out of each guest because he does not follow where the conversation is leading.  He is often a distraction.  A good guest with Noory must, beforehand, have an agenda and when Noory interrupts, keep steering the conversation back to where you want it to go.  Flatter the host, if you have to, just to keep him happy.

Yeah, the first guess was kissing Jorch's butt so much at one point I could hear the slobbering.  Saying we need more folks like Jorch and praising Jorch's credibility.  "You're as credible as Dorothy Kilgallen!," the guest proclaimed.   :P  So much for the credibility of that guest's JFK conspiracy tales.
Yes, he was, but I could tell that he was being disingenuous in his praise and Noory fell for it.  He eats that stuff up.  The guest often did not allow Noory's questions to sidetrack the points that he wanted to get across, and because he did not want to get on Noory's bad side by doing that, he complimented the fool.

I think this guest knew how to handle Noory and it was an interesting segment. The least interesting segments are those in which the guest does not stay on HIS message, but answers all of Noory's questions.

I don't understand what I'm reading here. The United States of America is in fact a republic, and to describe it as "democratic" would not be inaccurate.

She's adequate.
Yes.  I was taught that in school a long, long, time ago.  It was referred to as a democratic republic and a constitutional republic.

Citronella.  You know the mosquitos that bite are the ones that don't buzz?  The buzzers are the seekers then they go tell the quiet ones where you are.  So if you are stuck in a room with a buzzer, you won't get bit.  We had to dump water out of any outdoor rubber tires, pots, planters, buckets, cover drainage parts.  It made a difference.  And fruit flies hatch from larvae inside the stem of bananas so I cut the stems down to the nub and toss them, or refrigerate the bananas even though the peel turns color.
That's handy to know.  Thanks.

He leaves early on most nights anyway, right? Even when he is there....What's worse is when Linda Moulton Howe is on  I swear Jorch goes home for a nap, or at the very least goes to Ihop for coffee. Comes back to the studio after an hour and says "uh huh, what about those thunder birds Linda, I just love thunder birds"  and then goes back to Ihop for pancakes.
Yes.  Remember the time when Linda asked George a question, paused, and then 'George, are you there, George?"  You could hear the panic in her voice, thinking of filling the dead air herself.  Finally, after repeated proddings from Linda, he answered.

Trump to sign executive orders enabling construction of proposed border wall and targeting sanctuary cities
I'm not sure that I know what's going on.  Yes, he's building the wall (which would be useless effort if we just enforced the laws that forbid hiring them.  He'll deport the illegals who break the law - Obama has done this more than any other president has.  Is he going to also deport the rest of the illegals?

If he penalized businesses that hired them, there would be no need for the wall.  It would be wasted effort.  THey'd go home on their own (which we've witnessed).  So, going through all that effort in building a wall makes me think he's serving his corporate masters by allowing the current illegals to stay.

You mean like it was before Obamacare, when insurance companies could tailor plans to the market and had to compete with each other. Obamacare was designed to drive the prices up so people would beg for another government fix - single payer.
I agree with your assessment and told the same thing to my husband.  Most Canadians are happy with their single payer, but in the UK the system is really stretched and there seem to be many complaints.

Before Obamacare, though, medical bills was the biggest reason for bankruptcies in the US.  Something had to be done.

Good question.   Why not let the Supply and Demand Curve dictate prices?  Well for one thing on the supply side we are dealing with an essentially monolithic medical industry that despite having many practioners or "providers" acts as one in conjunction with the insurance industry to set fees for physician face time, drugs and diagnostics.  There is no real competition as in the used car business where if you don't like the prices charged by Happy Harry's Gently Used Car Emporium you can go to Honest John's Cherry Pre-owned Auto Sales.  On the demand side, very few go a lifetime without requiring some sort of medical treatment as born out by actuarial tables so the demand is essentially steady state or increasing and is really only inluenced by population fluctuations e.g. changes in the greater population or within a particular population demographic such as when we Baby Boomers entered our golden years at which point we started falling apart physically and sometimes mentally mostly from the effects of riotous living or due to the law of entropy.

Put simply the variable on the demand side is either steady or growing and the supply side is a variable idriven by medical school output and migration of foreign physicians to the U.S.    How can the purchasing power at each price level be determined when the competition factor is negated and demand remains constant or increases but is not effected by consumers unwillingness to pony up the money at some break point.  Does someone really have the option to hold off on being treated for a bleeding ulcer until costs come down.

I know you knew all this but somehow this reality has gotten lost in the discussion.
So, to even things up are you implying that single payer is the best way to go?

I do think that, if prices were made known, people with children would choose the lowest prices for inoculations for their children.  For routine prescription renewal, I think most people would choose the lowest cost doctor.  I think it would help lower prices.

Did anyone ever ask why we never used the free market system to help regulate health care?  NO - our government, our system, ALWAYS catered to the insurance companies.  Somehow, that was supposed to be capitalism.  And the consumer got screwed.

We never even tried to coax doctors and dentists and hospitals to publish prices on websites, did we?  They usually don't even publish prices in the waiting rooms.  At least, I would think, that would have been worth a shot before overhauling the entire system.

Indeed, except there is one recourse.  Elect someone who will control the border, and deport people who are here illegally.

And that someone wasn't Mrs Clinton
Why do you bring Hillary up, as I never voted for her?   I have a problem with importing large groups of the same culture because they tend to live in ghettos and reject the melting pot.  Illegals lower the salaries of our unskilled jobs, as a whole.  This leaves US citizens unable to survive on those salaries.  Blacks are denied a stepping stone to better employment.  Al Sharpton was against illegals for this very reason initially until an appeal was made to his personal greed.

I think we need scrutiny of businesses who hire such people.  If there are no jobs they'll have no incentive to come here.  They can catapult drugs over the wall.  We are still finding tunnels in use.
