This thread is full of suppositions and stupid pictures. We should all just pack up and go home.

Sirius has two years to respond to Art's proposal. Let's not get carried away after only one week.

I agree - let's not get carried away.

But at the same time, let's not put the onus on them entirely. Art chose to walk away from his arrangement with Sirius. Yes, he popped on board with some 'modifiers' to sweeten the deal but Sirius has a right to not agree with them, or be anything from angry to indifferent about Art now that he's pulled his stunt.

I feel like testing the stream and throwing out hints has put everyone's hopes up. Be prepared if it amounts to nothing, that's what long-term fans are used to.

That's two years off.

Art is 68

Don't ask him that.

Yup! I think if there isn't an affirmative answer from Sirius then we won't hear Art on any radio again... (my bitchy side would say that now we've got a convenient scapegoat in Sirius then...)

Still got my fingers crossed!

I heard that same replay and came across a website with her name for hug therapy and some other nonsense. Not sure if it's her but it looks as though she's switched from doom and gloom atichrist to lovey dovey let's hug and talk about feelings. Dirty hippie.

She's not the hug therapy Kathleen Keating  :-\

I did read that in college for a Philosophy class, but no.  Didn't even connect it until your post.  I must be getting old lol.  Actually it's a '70s album by Tangerine Dream, also from Art's bumper song "Some Velvet Morning" with Lee Greenwood (I think) and Namcy Sinatra.  I'm going to have to read that again....thanks for the reminder!

It's  Lee Hazelwood :D From their album Nancy & Lee which is great

Joye Pugh, the wingnut who claimed that Prince William would be unveiled as the antichrist at the Olympics, and the Olympic route somehow proved it. According to Dr Joye, Prince William is the cloned image of the shroud of Turin, hence the antichrist.

For this, I give her the coveted 5 wingnuts rating:  :o :o :o :o :o

OH MY GOD, that sounds astounding! I'm going to hunt for it on YouTube now.

I agree about those CIA slaves or whoever they were... not victims of a brainwashing conspiracy but sad, lost souls. I'm sure there is abuse in their pasts(s) but not from weird NWO pimping.

Not a guest - but the caller who ALWAYS calls up with the story about the drug guy who they film, and it became so profitable that they keep him hooked on drugs so that they can keep making the secret videos... did anyone uncover anything about that? It's obviously untrue, but he got on Dark Matter and told the story to Art who was obviously disbelieving but still found it funny or feasible.

I just want to know who that fucker is. It's the dumbest story in the book and it frustrates me to hear him keep calling in.

I have heard Clyde Lewis in the past. Sometimes he is real good others not so much.
The things that did it for me, that I just couldn't stand to listen to him anymore was 1) all the AJ way out there type bs political stuff & 2) the worst was each time he came back from commercial he would recap the entire show to that point and just repeat himself over and over for like 10-15 minutes...talk for about five more with new stuff go to commercial and do it all over again!!!!!!! That style of his just drove me nuts...reached above my head and grabbed that striped handle, pulled it down over my head an punched the fuck out of there baby!

I turned off Bellgab last night after reading people praising Alex Jones and Clyde Lewis... Alex Jones in particular is the lowest of the low. Going on about FEMA, chemtrails and all that conspiracy shit... And then he has the gall to say that the Boston Bombing was a false flag op. People like him make me sick. He's found his schtick and he's sticking to it, so that he can stick his nose in the trough and profit off scare-mongering and baseless conspiracy theories.

Seriously, if you take them and Wells seriously, you need to step back into reality. Look at yourself and your choices.

The worst case is that he has a shitty podcast and his only callers are the asshole bell gabbers here who either fawn over him (MEGA PAHRUMPS ART!) or criticize him for every guest he has on.

It's like the twilight zone episode where the Stand Up Commedian who desired fame ended up playing to the same house every night.

Thats not actually an episode, but who the fuck really cares.  You get the idea.

Vaguely lovable becomes vaguely a heavy ball and chain to bear around your neck.

Art must be wireless.....>You must understand this.  His voice doesn't do wires.  They must propagate freely bounce off the ground plane and ionosphere.  But not into the conductive shield of coaxial humdrum.

IF one more heavy breather calls up and says 'MEGA ROSWELLS FROM BELLGAB, ART!' again (more than, you know, the one time that it is acceptable), I'm not going to be responsible for my actions.

I think that people need to relax... Get a breath of fresh air outside, have a Pop Tart...

Rather than arguing about who's funny, who's not, who's a sick twisted fuck.

It's a forum, people can post what they like to amuse themselves. I think you need to get back to reality, phrodo. It's not high school

Sean David Morton/John B Wells - 05 Nov 2013

John B Wells Comments on Art  Bell's Quitting at 29 minutes in.

OF COURSE, Ol' Golden Balls had to have a gloat. And who even gives a fraud like Sean David Morton the time of day?

It was excruciating listening to those 2 minutes to get to that. Say what you will about Art, at least he had a legacy to piss away! Wells will be just mediocre and lucky.

And I can imagine why his bosses don't want him to mention Obama - they'll be the ones legally liable for his latest conspiracy or hate crime.

I've just got the huge x files box set (with movies too!) for 1/4 of the RRP so I can't wait to get stuck in. Gillian and David have also made some awesome con appearances that are up on YouTube as well as a really sweet Reddit AMA so I'm stoked

The last 2 frames have some overlap, I didnt cut the pic, and is just to give an idea.  Download the torrent file and view, you can also pick and choose which you want or not.  All the files are subfolders by date and topic.. In the gif there are 4 frames, half of the 4th frame is repeat then it loops to frame 1 again.. Im assuming these are the duplicates you are seeing.

I'm not sure, I think I saw duplicates (or else, file pieces) in the torrent files folder itself. My computer isn't working now so I'll have a look later. Thanks for linking it here  8)

I know this involves critical thinking and intellectual candor, so many of you Art Zombies(the few who don't have me on ignore) should avert your eyes now.

Is anybody a little bothered by Art's tacit CONTENT CONTROL attrmpts here? Apparently criticism here is enough to make him retreat into resignation. So, Art wants us to be good little "Art-isans" and just parrot praise for him. If not- you're engaging in "hate".

Your hero wants to censor this place.

Wanna go for a ride into Art Bell's Nighthawk Zone?

I think there might be some truth in what you're saying, everyone drops to their knees when he shows up. And a lot of the time he goes on about everyone being harsh or hostile here or whatever, even though he's a tough old bird himself and these are his most dedicated fans.

The whole abrupt quitting and teasing out of clues and news does make me think of carrots and sticks.

Then again, I've not been on fan forums for a long time and never those where the person involved shows up... and addresses the most negative things. So I guess I don't know.

Last I heard he's been doing conferences in Guatemala and such. Much like Scientology, he's wisely taking his show to where English is less understood and criticism, therefore, less accessible.

I was around to hear his first appearences on art bell live when they happened. They were goddamn awesome at the time. But, yeah. . .

I've heard some of the earlier stuff too and I think that the story was funny originally. But hearing him on Dark Matter and his serious, quavery voice going on and on pissed me off. The show deserves better! I like stories about aliens because they make me laugh, but reading up about him and how weird and shifty he is was unsettling,

Hmmmmm....

Think about it. I'd part with $50 to never hear Jonathan Reed again. His story has had holes poked in it by others (not to mention the inconsistencies themselves) that giving him a platform like Dark Matter is showing him too much respect.

Evelyn Paglini, or even Harlot at a pinch, I'd love to hear.

The files seem to have a LOT of duplicates? Might be worth just waiting for the upcoming BellGab final AB torrent.

Or is each show made up of lots of files? idk

Real talk - what are some of the potential net-based problems for a live streaming site? The stream has had something like 100+ listeners from here, but a proper Art show would bring in thousands... I feel like that's a web meltdown waiting to happen unless they're VERY well prepared.

I just want to hear good radio again.

That's what I'm here for. A lot of us (me included) felt very burnt indeed by the turn of events and seemingly endless excuses from Art.

If he can find a way to spin this and keep the show going, then I'll be listening.

If anything, Art shouldn't focus on the anger and instead on the fact that HUNDREDS of people are on a fan forum now, debating and arguing and angling to get HIM back on air in some way (and also talking about how Noory sucks).

Not to defend Art, but having been in the radio business before, its sounds to me like there are a bunch of old school radio guys at Sirius who just don't think that streaming over the internet is that important. When Broadcast.com first came out there were guys who flat out didn't want their stations streamed over the internet. They didn't get it. Sirius is a radio company, not an internet company. They are not putting enough resources into making streaming work.

Maybe we need a new business model here. It's 2013 now, not 1999. People want their media content in the format they want, not in the format the media wants to provide it in. AMC made sure that Breaking Bad was also available as a podcast the next day for those who didn't have cable. That didn't seem to hurt the ratings on that program. Dark Matter should be delivered on satellite, by streaming or by podcast however the listener wants it. If Sirius doesn't have the resources to make streaming work, maybe they should outsource to another company who can.

Or maybe Art needs to come at this from a new angle. Consider himself the content provider and contract with multiple carriers for his program. Cut a deal for satellite with Sirius, sign a different deal with Netflix or somebody else experienced with streaming and yet a third deal with iTunes or Amazon.com to sell podcasts of the show.

I agree, I think that Sirius and Art could have met each other halfway. Free streaming isn't part of Sirius's business model but maybe they should explore it. Art shouldn't have dropped DM so quickly, or at least been up-front about his ambitions for the show (wanting live streams, facing up the inevitable problems that come with Internet radio).

I hope the live stream works out but I'm sure it will throw up MORE problems and Art has to be equipped to meet them, by himself and not with big corporate backing (if he does this without Sirius)

I have one too - couldn't figure out Shoutcast but if you have an iphone, type the URL into Safari and it works! opens and streams clear as day
