Radio and Podcasts / Re: New Art Bell torrent

Is the March 1997 show regarding The Phoenix Lights on there?  Also, is there info in this forum
somewhere on how to download from a torrent?  Believe it or not I've never done that.

I wish Art well, but I'm not about to pay a dime to listen to the radio.

Pretty disappointing. But then, I really wasnt expecting much :-\

As someone pointed out, the shows will likely be available on torrent sites.

I may start a site... members only. And it may well offer some sound files that are unique... if you get my meaning.

I would like to be a member, please.

I'm not sure that enough analysis has been done over the title of the last song that Art linked to, 'Right Back Where We Started From.'  I think it could be a clue to mean that Art is going back to what he did before c2c even.  Didn't he used to have some local Las Vegas radio show "before"?

Found this on a thread on Reddit and thought it was interesting. It's in reply to the person, Oryx, who thinks that Art should do a podcast (the replyer, VirSaturnA, is completely right on, I feel):

"[â€"]Oryx --- "DO A PODCAST. The '90s are over. Who the hell listens to the radio?"

[â€"]VirSaturnA --- "Art Bell is all about the mystique of the invisible radio waves. If you are too young to have lived through the magic of Art Bell in the 90's just believe me when I say that you want him live on the radio, taking unscreened calls in the moment. You could feel the hair on the back of your neck standing up as each night unfolded for everyone together. His old shows are still great to listen to. They were just that good. But live it was a real phenomenon. A dead, pre-recorded podcast could never come close. I'll be happy to hear anything new that he's involved in though, either way."

Since the callers are screened, they make sure the ones who get on air have something nice to say about the show or its host.  Oh how I long for the excitement and unpredictability of unscreened 8 8 callers!

I wonder if it's Art making those changes to the website or if it's his webmaster.

I agree, there's gonna be major drama going down if Art's show directly competes with c2c.  But if Art only does Friday and Saturday nights, not so much.  I'm still dubious over if Art is going to come back 5 nights a week after what he posted on Facebook about how that would get in the way of spending quality time with the wife and daughter.  Unless that statement was just a ploy to get bigger money offered to him to do a radio show.

I'm sure someone here will always post what Art posts to Twitter, and within minutes.  Hence, no real need to create a Twitter account.

He has not been very active on FB, and I guess that's because he wished to remain a private person since he had retired.  If he does come out of retirement, I'd love to see him post comments on Facebook and Twitter much more often.  I wonder if he really will, though?  I don't recall him interacting on social media much at all "before," but then at the time that he retired social media had not become as prevalent as it is now.

This is Art's Facebook page and he opened it up to "Followers" recently, which means you can follow it without having to friend him (since you cannot friend him anymore; he's at the max amount of friends at 5000).

"I don't care how my show gets to people's ears, as long as they can hear it."

If he hasn't changed his mind about that, he could well be going to Sirius.  I just hope, if so, that his show is on the cheaper $15 a month subscription.

Art has obviously really struggled with the decision, hence the false starts including walking away from at least one solid offer (that he hinted would have competed directly with c2c).  If he goes to Sirius, I don't feel that Art will compete very much with c2c, as most listeners of regular radio, of which I am a huge radio listener for many years, are very reluctant to pay for radio and are not Sirius radio listeners.  Hence, I feel that Art's show on Sirius, if it happens, will have a different audience than the one that is currently regularly listening to Coast to Coast AM.  Maybe this helped Art finally make a decision to return to radio, as it seems he did not want to directly compete with his old radio show.

I didn't know about Art Bell's twitter account to around a week(?) ago when he posted on Facebook that he had one (I do follow Art Bell on Facebook, have for nearly as soon as his FB page went up).  His FB page is full of clutter of other people posting messages to Art, and Art Himself only posts there about 1-2 times a month.  I think if Art was more active on his FB page, he'd get people following him on Twitter too.  Also, many people who are active on FB are not active on Twitter.  I know of several friends who immediately had to sign up to Twitter for the first time after hearing that Art had a Twitter account.

I think this change from Morse code to actual text means that the Official Announcement cannot be far behind.  I really hope that Art does not get a show on Sirius, as I don't want to pay $50 for one of their radios, and then an additional $15 a month, but I will if it means I get to listen to Art again.  But note that their subscription packages vary.  For $15 a month, you do NOT get Howard Stern, but have to buy their more expensive monthly package if you want to listen to HS.  Am hoping that won't be the case if Art goes on Sirius.

I also think the point is very good that Clear Channel radio shows are no longer on Sirius, as of not too long ago.  When did that occur, anyone know?  Late May, early June?  Because it may very well have changed Art's mind about doing a show on Sirius, seeing that they now no longer carry ANY shows of Art's old nemesis, Premrad.

My final point:  I don't think he'd be leading us on in this fashion if he didn't have something in the works, and more than just him advertising that he's now on Twitter.  He's never led us on THIS concretely before:  both with reactivating his website with his old webmaster, and with posting on Twitter that, "This means what you think it means."  He knows FULL well that all his fans would immediately jump to the conclusion that him restarting his website and having "Wanna take a ride" in Morse code would mean that he was returning to radio.

Heard from a friend tonight that she'd heard JBW was leaving c2c and that tomorrow was his last show.  I experienced a few seconds of silent jubilation before I realized she had confused facts, and it is actually Ian who is leaving the show and tomorrow (today) is his last show.

Did you guys see this?  From a live chat with Snoory.  He says a "big announcement" is coming up.  Hmmmmm!

Tom Sullivan is great - has a moderate conservative talk show on KFBK every day from noon to 3.  You can stream it live for free via I Heart Radio.

he does have a talk show on youtube where he interviews people in the arts.  but its a very straight show with very little paranormal talk.  since hes obviously way into that i bet he'd be
willing to host c2c one day a month.  he seemed to almost take over the show at the end there.

Heineken is a beginner's beer and getting drunk on only a half glass of champers indicates to me that he's not much of a drinker.  Likely for the best considering he is probably on and off painkillers.

just go to the main Ground Zero website and under the "Podcast" section they archive freely downloadable mp3 files of the full 5 hour past shows.
i think only the Portland, Oregon station carries the full show, PremRat only uses a couple hours of the show prior to c2c starts on their affiliate stations.

thanks very much!  I'll check that out.

So I asked Clyde and he said he wasn't a free mason. And as far as holding ground zero events there he said he wasnt afraid to go into the belly of the beast. I like his show alot, reminds me of the old coast days. He will never be Art but way better than noory.

Clyde himself answered you?  THat's pretty cool.

I've been listening to Clyde a bit more over the past week.  While he still tends to ramble on and on, he did have an interesting topic last night, the lost colony of Roanoke.  I didn't listen to the whole show, but it was interesting and he's clearly more intellectually curious than Noory.  It was a decent show.

He had a great interview with MIchael Rooker of THe WAlking Dead the other night.  and he is really on top of breaking paranormal news.  if you dont compare him to Art, he almost fits the bill.  could do without the rants, but theyre not that often.  I'm hoping he'll tone those down.

Yes, I've heard Clyde mention Art and C2C before.  On his first night of national syndication a few months ago, he specifically mentioned Art and how he was an inspiration.  Clyde was actually crying on air that night.  He's a pretty genuine guy, and I've become a regular listener.  I certainly don't agree with all his views, but at least he's entertaining, literate, and intelligent.

GRound zero is the only radio show I've heard that comes even at all close to the vibe that Art used to lay down.  Clyde can get a bit aggro with the callers sometimes tho when they don't agree with him.

to the new guy who asked about Ground zero, its pretty good.  you can go to tunein.com  and put ground zero in the search engine, and all the radio stations currently airing it will come up in a list, then you pick which one and u can listen to it streaming.  tonite michael rooker from the walking dead was interviewed...what a cool guy.

This is SUCH GREAT NEWS !!!!!!  Sounds to me like he will be back in some form.  Hopefully on online radio,... I don't want to have to pay for Sirius or XM, but I will if I have to to hear Art again.
