I've not been around for a while. Heard the news this morning.

Fuck.

Sounds like Heather went off into politics.

The only thing worse than Heather doing paranormal... is Heather doing politics.

Glad I bailed when I did. Not my cup of tea.

Let me repeat I am not going into what is currently being done for security but it is a lot, because I am not employing your Brother in Law or whatever does not mean things are not being done.

Art

Fair enough.

Time to get back in the saddle Art. Being off air is a waste of material. You made a big impact on broadcasting, and should continue doing so. Get 6 months or a year in and all the offers will flow again.

You being off the air, beyond security issues, is kind of a mistake.

Dammit. I'm still a fan boy.

Might be nice if gabcast hosts actually set their microphone gain so there is no digital clipping.

Only if you're following the strategy laid out in "The Producers." But that had the advantage of being a very funny comedy. This isn't funny.

It's spring time for Art Bell and Dark matter?

Actually no.

Show me one time Art has ever said at the beginning of the show, that they should stay tuned until the end to hear a special announcement?

With the climate of the shows future and what Art has been saying recently about his return, it was cheap the way it was presented.

Ya... that only works once assuming the announcement is nothing.

I think Art should just retire and Keith should move on to something else, either way it really doesn't have a effect in my daily life, i prefer programming forums.

That's really harsh but might be a reality. I still feel bad on a bunch of levels this got all cocked up.

I keep coming back here less and less... at some point I'll simply lose interest and this is probably true for others as well.

I like Heather, but I'm not staying up until 3am for Heather.

guest announcement now

How do you define a guest announcement?

Quote from: rekcuf on January 06, 2016, 10:36:27 PM
A "guest host" for 1 night, at best...

Yup. In order to get my "full fanboi" going, he's going to have to really return. But I'll stick around for the "announcement".

If it was about Art coming back, she may not have wanted to have people pester her for more details if she opens the phone lines later.

Man... I'm not feeling it. If he's coming back I'd be really surprised.

Falkie transcends trollhood. He should be living on a mountain in Nepal dispensing wisdom to those who aspire to be shiny objects that the internet looks at. He once utterly fixated his thread people for six months simply by giving updates on a painfully slow cleaning of his apartment. For lack of anything else to call it, it was magnificent.

Nah...

I've seen a number of his vids, and the definition of him is simple.

He's a guy, who cares deeply about certain things, who is simply trying to be relevant.

Even if one were to consider his views garbage (which I do), you have to give him props for putting it on the line.

And that in itself has a nobility that far exceeds a "troll", or "mountain dwelling king of trolls".

He's a genuine human, worthy of respect. Because he puts it on the line- and most of us do not.

I remember when I Married Airyn the heavy bet was it won't last six Months, anybody remember that one? This April 11th we will celebrate 10 Years.

Art

I'm confused when people comment about famous people's personal life. To me it really doesn't matter. I don't know you personally- why would I even have an opinion?

In my mind anything show related is fair game. But your personal life is none of my business beyond what you decide to share. And even then I'm just "some guy on the internet".

However, I've had two small brushes with personal fame and I know what being in the spotlight is like. When the metaphorical shots start getting fired: you don't know who is actually shooting.

Seems like a really big thing at the time it is happening. My solution was to not seek "fame" and I retreated from being on stage since my personality type doesn't lend itself well to all the attention.

So I understand your reaction with recent events. Even if I was sorely disappointed- I simply like what you do and made time for it every day.

But I digress:

Your personal life is no one's business but your own. You don't have anything to defend on that front.

Without necessarily intending it, Art Bell has made the Unknown Shooter the most famous character in all of paranormal radio and beyond.  The Unknown Shooter has become forever rooted in legend, and a future source of untold numbers of stories and myths.  His existence is like the swirling, shifting, midnight sands of Pahrump, and only dire imagination can capture his writhing soul.  His face could be anyone's, and anywhere,  - his essence floating through the night, waiting for the littlest of stray thoughts to enliven his sackcloth body once more.

OMG... I'm sure that's unintentional. And none of what happened with Art is funny to me.

But that's funny. The gunman will be the new "Slenderman"... sightings everywhere with Elvis and Hoffa.

Gary Mize: Sad when so called fans decide to become Sharks and make the man suffer more with hounding in negative talk and act up on a feeding frenzy when blood hits the water. Not only did we loose him on the show his own drove him away from facebook and Bellgab. Is this what the world has become? So much for humanity, im ashamed to be part of the human race right now.

You know.. I agree.

I just pulled out of all the Art Bell Facebook stuff at least temporarily. Maybe permanently. My feed was full of drama. I don't want my feed full of drama.

Really Facebook is a way for me to keep tabs on people close to me, be involved with hobbies, and share pictures with friends and family.

I was so excited months ago when Art friended me on Facebook. I thought he might actually like some of the ham radio stuff I do. A strange way perhaps to give back for 20 years of shows I enjoyed? This wasn't a crazed fan thing for me. This was a ham to ham thing. I like Art's radio shows but I consider myself his peer.

Considering the morass keeps getting worse here and on Facebook there's not much more to be said...

But now that the house has burned down around us and the drama bleeds across social media like an over modulated sideband transmission....

What's really going on here? Beats me. But apparently MV (All praise the glowing sphincter!) makes a lot of money off the page views.

And that's fine with me. Someone somewhere ought get something good out of this. Might as well be him. Maybe Heather will be the next famous paranormal broadcaster.

I think like a lot of people... I'm just sad.
